I've got to start reading more! I've started reading yours Sia, but I've been sidetracked with my own little Garrus story - I want to finish it before publishing it though as I've started writing a few then never finished (my plans are always a bit too grand - I've not completed any of the stories I've started so far) and I've managed to find a beta reader to help which is what I definitely needed.

Thanks, I think I would pretty lost without my favourite Turian. Him and Tali truely are the greatest characters. And I always romance Garrus as fem Shep, though it gets a little awkward for me as a male to hear some of the dialogue......   

Haha, I hear ya...I'm a female, and I've been in love with Garrus like forever, and I was so happy to hear that he was a romance in ME2...and I still just about crawled under the sofa the first time I heard the romance dialogues. :lol:

I *think* I FINALLY managed to peel Liara off of me right after the Feros mission...she said she thought there was a connection between us, and I said I wasn't interested in her in that way, and she basically said she'd leave me alone! w00t!!

It's a shame that it can be difficult to avoid romance in ME1. I got into the Ashley romance somehow just by being nice to her. ME2 is better about this. I know Tali and Garrus' romance are pretty obvious about whether the player is going to start the romance or not. Thane's is probably obvious too.

I tried to romance Ash in ME1, and couldn't, even though I was nice to her. But I tried to avoid Liara, and it was so difficult...I mean, WTF!!

eta: and as long as Garrus is happy, I'm happy.

I got that conversation too... and then Liara showed up at the Normandy lockdown scene. D: I have to replay three main missions, several side missions, and do Liara's recruitment after Virmire now. I hope you have better luck.

I don't know. My Shepard was nice to her but wasn't trying to flirt. Eventually you get to a point, as another said, where she asks you if you're "still interested" and all of the answers are "yes" in different ways. so by then you are locked into the romance.
