I'm off sick from work today Andaius and entertaining myself reading ff and writing my own. I'm onto chapter 5 of my Garrus ff (inspired from lovgrenos Garrus artwork).

I've been working at a feverish pace - understandibly as I'm slightly feverish!!

I've never had an ME playthrough were I've romanced Liara, even when I had a no romance playthrough I managed to keep her away.

Romance... both? Do you mean Ashley and Liara? My MaleShep doesn't want either. xD He's liked Tali since ME1.

I had no trouble with Ashley. Something MaleShep said must have turned her off completely (yay!) because she never mentioned romance at all. Unfortunately, I don't know if the romance shut-down happened before or after the save I'm going back to, but if I just replay all the conversations the same way (which shouldn't be too hard because I'm playing a character) or just not talk to her, it'll be fine. She gets Virmired anyway.

My MaleShep was not nice to either of them. Ashley took the hint, Liara did not. I had no trouble with my FemShep, but she kind of avoided Liara.

@ kglaser: If your next conversation with Liara is the one where she says she's never been with anyone before and Shepard's answers range from "take your time" to "we're ready now", just... reload to before you recruited her. It doesn't help to go back and not have the conversation, it's locked in. D:

Well hope you get better then! I have 2 m!sheps. main is infiltrator, and Second is Adept Main did Ashley, Biotic did Liara. Main then goes one to Do Tali because Ashley goes insane. Wonders why I didn't call her from beyond the grave!

Oh wow. I just spent las 2 hours replaying the SM. And I couldn't get Garrus to pick me up inside the Collector base. I reminded something you guys said about bringing Thane (who's completely unromanced, but that doesn't seem to mean anything) would end up with Garrus picking you up but... Noes.



I also destroyed the base by error. LOL

Seriously. Now I'll have to play again... Let's see if Garrus picks me up this time.



Oh well, 6 am here. Maybe tomorrow. G'nite guys!

I just hate having to avoid talking to anybody. Never have I encountered a game where that was necessary...never! I come from a loooong background of adventure gaming, which not only advocates picking up everything that's not nailed down, but talking to everyone about everything. It goes against my gaming heritage (and my nature) to deliberately ignore someone.

I find myself wishing, not for the first time, that we could Virmire Liara.

I don't have any screenshots (I have the Xbox version). Thane looks awesome in those sunglasses though. I wonder how they stay on. xD

@ kglaser: That's why I tried to talk to Liara and Ashley this time around, but unfortunately, it didn't work. It's not ignoring her if you recruit her last though. Looking on the bright side, I get to go back and correct a few things in my playthrough that weren't quite right.

I have only played ME1 once and had Kaidan all over me like a rash (scale itch, anyone?).

It was just a misunderstanding. He wanted me and I was trying to keep my character for Garrus. I couldn't shake the guy so...ummm....nuked him. And I always play paragon /whistles

Some of the suicide mission stuff does have to do with what slot the squad mates are in. For example, whoever is in the first slot brings up their omnitool so TIM can talk about Shepard about keeping the base. The person in the second slot offers their opinion about what Shepard should do.

She describes her sex scenes as like those from a "Silhouette Nocturne novel" (I know them as Mills and Boons Blaze) but OMG, I've never read anything quite like that!

I had no problem with Kaidan, actually. He assumes my FemShep was giving him "signals", but after she says she wasn't, then that was it. I'm really wondering if there's some kind of weird glitch that leaves the romances turned on. >_>; I did the same thing as others who had no problem with Liara, and others have a lot more trouble with Ashley and Kaidan than I did.

I support no forced romances in ME3! Seriously... it's annoying.

@ Collider: Thanks for the info. Now I now which slot to put Garrus in next time so I can get his comment about the Collector base. Thane first, Garrus second, and hope the catching/getting caught thing works out.

That one is from my Thane RT (so Thane as 1st squaddie) with Garrus as Team Leader. Always wondered how it worked and that would make sense - thanks Andaius! Will remember that for current canon RT...

I was somehow locked in <_<  I tried and TRIED to break it off but all I kept getting was 'can't wait to spend more time with you...' Shep then stepped away and pushed the big, red NUKE button   I am a Paragon! Honest!

Also, in ME2 Jacob is giving me brohugs and telling me 'we're going to spill some drinks on the citadel'. Not that I was trying to romance him, but is that normal?
