Garrus Love and Adoration v.2

Now you've said so, the thought of Garrus looking at the stars feels like he's relaxed rather than uncomfy. The couch one looks weird, right. It'd be better if she just lend her head over him and cuddled lovingly.
And I'd sign anywhere for being able to spar with him, as long as it leads to a warmed atmosphere :] (/me pictures a pretty hawt scene. Arf)

Jack/Garrus - I see where you're going with your line of reasoning Janey, but I have to agree with Nilf on the lack of knowing the mechanics... unless it turns into violence/power. Then it's no longer just sex, it's rape and I don't think Garrus would go THAT far. (I know, that's a touchy subject for folks.)
Because, on the whole, we don't know what turian habits or appetites are like... it's just speculation.
Personality wise, I still think the two of them are oil and water. Jack has Issues. I can't see Garrus even really becoming friendly with her. She's a criminal and liked it. Even Renegade Garrus I can't see liking her to make that sort of leap.
I could DEF see them brawling... but I don't see how that could turn into a sex thing (unless, again, it's something about turians we just don't know/see.) And even then... bit of a stretch for me to see.
edit for spelling/grammar lulz
I do understand the reasoning behind these counterarguments, I'm just saying that I don't see Garrus/Jack as entirly unplausable (implausible?). I also think that they could get pretty far through on instinct before the mechanics got too much in the way. And there is an element of 'pain as foreplay' which could come into play without it actually being 'rape' - see how far one can push the other. I certainly think that the 'sparring' story illustrates that turians can approach sex that way as well. Plus, you can always figure out what you are doing as you go - then the game becomes about giving the most pleasure but still holds power. Jack would certainly be into that, IMO. Anyway. I was just responding to an interesting scenario (and noticed that most people were all 'lulwhat?'' about it. Whereas I have a ton of fic ideas running through me brain). Saying that, I'm currently ficing Tali/Grunt. I can imagine all sorts. lol

Writing crackfics is the best thing ever. You can pair anyone up with anyone and still feel good about it. MIRANDA/VOLUS! VELARN/ANDERSON! REFUND GUY/GAME SALESMAN!

BW wanted to have more/better, but couldn't manage--see the interview with the ME score composers where it goes:
"OCR Staff: Okay, we have to ask: How much alien sex did you study & analyze - professionally and scientifically, of course - as part of the creative process? Did it ever feel awkward composing music intended as the background for inter-species coupling?
Jack: Man, you should have seen how much of that they PLANNED to do but never made it into the game! I was really looking forward to scoring that!

Going back to the thing about the awkward cuddle looping on the bed and sofa--it's the same deal with all the LIs. Garrus stares at the ceiling on the bed, and so does maleShep when he's getting cuddles. I remember reading (but for the life of me, I can't find it now) that the reason we didn't get more elaborate love scenes with Garrus was because of clipping issues, not because BW wanted to send the message that interspecies awkwardness ensued. The weird stuff we did get was because of technical difficulties and resource limitations.

There, there. This is what fanfic is for, I guess. It's like a nice, smutty spackle for the holes in the game. :-/

Would you guys be interested in me posting an "avoid unwanted romances in ME1" mini-guide somewhere? Maybe on Clan V. or as a link on the first page of the thread? Because I know I've posted it before, but I see that it's still a problem for a lot of people, and my earlier post has gotten lost in the depths of the thread by now.
That would be great.
For the most part - I know Garrus & Tali's romance triggers are obvious, but I did have accidentally have my Shepard flirt with Miranda one time. It was the "You're hard to compliment" option.Concerning ME2 romances, Miranda, Thane, Garrus and Tali are extremely easy to avoid: their triggers stare you right in the face (well, Samara too, but that doesn't really count).
Yea...I was told to **** off because I didn't romance her :/ I still don't like it.With Jack, you just need to stop talking to her at one point, if you're male. It makes sense: she's not looking for a friend, and if you keep coming back, she just assumes you're interested, even if you say no.
I heard that the neutral options lead to the brohug that male Shepard gets.I'm not sure about Jacob though: like so many others, I just avoided talking to him apart from LM-related stuff once I heard what Shep sounded like. I'll try to navigate his convos on my current playthrough and see if there's a way to avoid downright romance.

He's a good guy. I don't avoid his conversations because of the way femShep sounds. And I love the brohug, especially when I'm wearing my black dress

Avoiding a Jacob romance is simple. Just don't ask him if he's single or say that he's good looking.

Well, I avoided those two specific convo options, but FemShep still sounded so sleazy that I was worried I might accidentally have triggered something anyway!
I did get the brohug in the end though. It seemed...oddly cliché for someone who spent most of the game simply being normal.
@ Collider: The "no ME1 romance" guide is up on Clan V.
And yeah, I accidentally romanced Jack with my MaleShep. I thought outright telling her that I didn't want a one-nighter and that I didn't have feelings for her would get the message across, but somehow, in her very next convo, she still asked me to choose between her and Tali. I reloaded and never spoke to her again. It does make sense, but it's still a little sad that there's no way to get through to her unless you romance her.
Still doesn't beat this though:
Thane: I haven't spoken about my dead wife to anybody.
FemShep: *top right option* "I want you, Thane."
Me:
Admittedly, I haven't tried it out yet, so it probably doesn't sound as bad as it looks, but still.

The exact line you get when you pick the "I want you, Thane" option:
SHEPARD: Maybe I haven't been as up-front as I should be. I'm here for you, Thane. Whatever you need.
I think they just labeled it "I want you, Thane" so that it's easier to recognise as a romance flag.

Yea, it's really a shame. I just wanted to be Jack's friend!

On that note, Garrus. How close do you think he was with his squad on Omega? Do you think Garrus is a "has a lot of friends" person, or more a "has a couple close friends" person? Or maybe even someone who hasn't really gotten close to anyone (aside from Shepard)?

I think he's more of a couple close friends person. I don't know, he seems like a introvert person.
Something that surprised me not too long ago, is that he calls Sidonis... Sidonis. We know his first name. Why doesn't he call him Lantar? Maybe a turian thing? Or something? Whatever?

More like a military thing? Shepard is always Shepard, after all.

Yeah, but that's probably because we can't make him say our first names. Nalah Butler, the wife of one of his team mates, calls Garrus 'Garrus' in her e-mail for example. So apparently his teammates knew him as Garrus, not 'Vakarian'. That's why I wondered...

Or she does. Doesn't mean her husband called him the same.
Military spouses use first names of their SO's buddies.

I usually call some of my military friends by their last names simply because that's what I hear people calling them all the time...
Then there's those of us who share a name with a few friends... that always gets fun -.-
I sometimes resort to last names just to avoid the confusion then. XD
Oh and I had a friend in middle and high school who always called me by my last name... always. It's not even a common name. Was pretty funny though....
So ... it could just be one of those things? XD

Couple of close friends, methinks. He's really not a people person.
As for Sidonis, I think it's just force of habit. After all, Mulder and Scully always called each other by their last names, even long past the point where they were sleeping together.
...This isn't to suggest that Garrus was sleeping with Sidonis, btw.

Shepard should be calling everyone by their last name, especially Willams and Alenko. And probably even Garrus. Wrex is probably more appropriate to call him Wrex, as is Tali more appropriate. Not sure what she should be calling Liara.
