Since I haven't made it far on Overlord (when I've had time to play, I keep blowing up in lava. 6 times in a row now. Frigging hate the Hammerhead more than the stupid Mako), I can't comment on it like I planned. But my smashing into walls and... blowing up... had this come to mind:

Garrus: Four billion credits later, and Cerberus STILL couldn't teach you how to drive, Shepard?!

Shepard: C'mon Garrus, it's just like the old days!

Garrus: Yeah, except we didn't try sailing over rivers of molten lava!

Shepard: On purpose, anyway.

Garrus: *groans*

When I made it back from Boston the other night, I discovered the smell of "Cow Pie Corgi" (and the hazards of trying to clean up said dog). One of you already knows the story. The rest of you can figure it out from those 3 words alone. But it got me wondering the following:

* Do turians have pets like people do? I can't see Garrus walking a dog (unless it's a fem Shep's, and even then...). What does Garrus think of Shepard's choice of pets (fish, space hamster)?

* Did turians ever have an agrarian society, or did they go straight from hunter-gatherers to spacefaring folks? I see them more as crop burners than crop growers, and there's little to currently suggest that they ever had any pastoral societies. (Of course, in 2185, it's not like Earth's population is farming a whole lot either, from the sounds of it.)

Oh, and what works on "Cow Pie Corgi"? It's not standard doggie shampoo, I can tell you that right now. Two shots (minimum) of Captain Morgan's Private Stock (that *you* drink, not the dog!) helps immeasurably. Taking off the collar and spritzing it with Febreze helps too. Of course, if you have a dog like mine, he may not mind the smell so much either after a while either....



I wonder what turians would think of the smell, and what they'd do about it.

I'd modify the pic to have him look more "Garrus like" but I frankly hate dealing with GIMP.

(Before anybody jumps on my case, the bottle was already empty. He prefers trying to steal sips from unguarded margarita glasses anyway.)

"Cow Pie Corgi" is a dog who escapes from his fenced area and goes roaming to purposely find a fresh pile of cow you-know-what to roll in.  A lot.  Then he sits around the front porch for a few hours until you arrive home from the airport, to make sure the smell "seeps in", so that you are forced to bathe him shortly before midnight (especially if you have to get up 5 hours later).  Oh, AND it has to be close over 90 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside.  The only smell worse (besides skunk) is "cow pie and wet/ bathed corgi".

What, you want to scream my name during... nevermind.

I intended it to be pronounced like Kerrid, but somehow people always say Serrid... Heh. But I'm used to people mispronouncing my name, my real name (first and last!) is a tonguebreaker for a lot of peeps .

My beloved Socceroos won against the Serbs 2-1 in the World Cup but have been eliminated because Germany won against Ghana, at least they saved face after a humilating 4-0 defeat against Germany in their first game.
