Yeah, I'll read more tomorrow.

When I bought Revelation, I read the scenes with Saren all at once though. xD

Speaking of HK-47: a friend of mine regularly organizes character battle contests. You have a selection of video game characters and you predict who’s going to win (yes, there are prizes involved at the end). Our upcoming one is about famous sidekicks, and it features a couple of BW characters (Alistair, the Mabari and HK-47). I’ve never played KOTOR, but I have HK-47 slated to win the entire contest, simply on hearsay of how awesome he (it?) is.

If you're still talking about "Enemies/Allies Like You and Me", run DO NOT walk RUN and read it NAOW.

Noooo, I can't! I promised myself I wouldn't look at any fics until my own is done. I don't want to be influenced or discouraged X_X

I've only got two chapters done though, so I might cave in somewhere down the line. But not yet!

Crackfic! STAT!!

That sounds like a job for Xsause!

I intended it to be pronounced like Kerrid, but somehow people always say Serrid... Heh. But I'm used to people mispronouncing my name, my real name (first and last!) is a tonguebreaker for a lot of peeps :P.

For some reason, I would've pronounced it as "Cheryth". A bizarre mix of Italian and Welsh...Image IPB

Can you imagine him asking Shepard "How bad is it?"?

ZombieGarrus: Nobody would give me a mirror. How bad is it?

Shepard: *faints*

ZombieGarrus: I…see.

*notices Jacob standing there*

ZombieGarrus: Oh hello, Officer Taylor. I’m not sure why, but I suddenly feel very hungry…

Jacob: D: !!!!

*cue pics of ‘ZombieGarrus must feed’*

@ Andaius20: I LOVE that CSI spoof!

@ Rebe70: That’s the best reason for nuking Kaidan I’ve ever heard. Image IPB

On topic of HK-47, I saw a copy of KOTOR II at Ebgames on sale for $20. Debated whether or not to get it. But I would prefer to get KOTOR first. I want to get the original xbox version, since I want to relieve my computer of the stress of putting too many games on it. The only thing I've seen are the KOTOR scenes on youtube, which looks rather cool.

If no one posted those Zombie Garrus screenshots in Clan V yet, then they should. xD They're still hilarious, no matter how many times I've seen them.

I would definitely want to play the KOTOR games in order, but if I found the second one first, I would buy it just in case I'd never be able to find it again. I've seen a few youtube videos, probably of KOTOR II. They looked awesome. So many dialogue options...

Can anyone of you dear fellow Garrus fans think of something good that rhymes with "Garrus" and "Palaven"? I'm trying to write limericks about garrus for the very entertaining Mass Effect limerick thread.

Garrus >>> Paris, walrus, curious, serious, rebellious
Palaven >>> caravan, lovin', groovin' (approximative rhymes, but there aren't many English words ending in "-ven")

Thanks Nilfalasiel.

On second thought though I think I should leave poetry and writing to those more skilled in the english language like Buggirl. I better stick to my drawing.

X: The Abode of Dr. Newstead

Despite the lateness of the hour, we were encouraged to stop at Dr. Newstead’s estate by the lights burning in the windows, which suggested that the inhabitants were still awake. The ornately arabesqued gate to the grounds stood open as well. In any event the weather, which had turned to sheets of rain, seemed to rebuke any plan to proceed onward in search of a roadside inn to shelter at for the night. The moisture and discomfort of the ride had taken a heavy toll on Miss Zorah, and she coughed miserably, though she stolidly endured without complaint. As the headlights of Miss William’s motorcar swept through the downpour, it became clear that the grounds were unkempt, verging on overgrown. Ornamental benches and trellises seemed to have been overtaken completely by curious growths of vine. These obscurely repellent shoots extended up the walls of the manor itself, the tough rope-like tendrils swarming in a horrifying manner all the way to the eaves. Nor did they lend to the appearance of a quaint, ivy-walled country house, for the vines were without leaf, and had a strange, doughy appearance completely unwholesome to the eye.

Much to my surprise, we were greeted at the door by one Lieutenant -- Alenko, whom I had met years before in France. The disinherited scion of a White Russian family, Lt. Alenko had traveled widely, serving in the Foreign Legion during the Great War where he had made my acquaintance. Now bereft of his homeland by the October Revolution, it appeared he lived as a soldier of fortune, lacking any other skills. A sensitive man despite his unfortunate profession, he was much afflicted by headaches and, laboring under the Eastern superstition common to his race, consumed philters made from cacao leaves and other more obscure substances besides to alleviate his ailment. Much given to philosophy, it was his claim that the dream-trances and wild imaginings these potions induced in him helped to calm his nerves and give him insight into the world about him.

He and another Russian were serving as bodyguards to Dr. Newstead, he told me, though he remained evasive on what cause the doctor had to require protection. Welcoming us into the manor, he assured us that Dr. Newstead would be happy to accommodate us for the night, given the inclement weather and the state of the country roads. However, before I was able to elaborate on our reasons for intruding on the doctor’s privacy, the other bodyguard happened to appear.

Where Lt. Alenko was darkly handsome and well-groomed in a European style, slender as befitted a man of his stature and profession, -- Urdnot was a barrel-chested brute of a Cossack, his face marred by injury and his bristling beard lending an aspect of ferocity to his face. Despite initial appearances, however, he seemed a more brooding sort, seething over some deep hurt within his psyche, rather than the innate dour fatalism of his kind. It seemed his custom to go armed about the house, as if expecting attack from any quarter.

for anyone interested in the Lovecraft style :)

I think I'm in love. <3

Lovecraft is best read all alone, during a storm, with a dim light and lots of time. I agree that it's not writing that you read or digest quickly. But it sets a mood. When you're finished reading you have a vaguely disturbing feeling that something is lurking somewhere.

I find Lovecraft boring. BUT... all the things his books have inspired, I find quite fun.

Plus living in Rhode Island makes it get old, fast. : /

Don't need to read Lovecraft to be reminded of the social status of my racial group during his life. No thanks.

Also, back to Garrus (not my work!):

Oh I sees it now. It's all good. XD Still a cool picture XD

Yea, I can't see Garrus being the warrior type.

Rogue with Survival maybe... He shoots bows, pewpew XD

Well then, there's the hand to hand angle... hrm... no monks in DA....

I find it amusing that when I look at DA warriors I think Fury, Arms and Prot /facepalm...

I guess of the three types of warriors, dual wielding would be the closest and the best for Garrus to use his hand to hand skills.

(I love Fury... er, dual wielding. XD)

Just started my F!Shepard Garrus romancing playthrough of ME2. Finally got the face somewhat right. For some of the decisions I'm going to do the opposite of my M!Shepard playthrough. Can't stand being mean to my crew, though, especially Garrus & Tali.

-

Rogue Garrus? That does make sense. His team on Omega specializes in guerrilla tactics if I'm correct. He also cites in ME1 that the Normandy's stealth capabilities make him look forward to a firefight. I think so far as his theme or morals go, he does remind me of a knight. But combat, as silentstephi said, would be like roguish bow using character. A bow is the best analogy to the sniper rifle here anyway.

My MaleShep was kind of mean to Ashley and Liara, but nice to everyone else. Even then, I guess he wasn't so much "mean" as realistic, opinionated, suspicious (in Liara's case), and making sure the crew doesn't get out of line. xD Ashley at least might have interpreted that as mean.

I never really thought about which class Garrus would be in Dragon Age before... I guess it's hard for me to imagine that he would be an archer when he usually charges right into battle in my game. My current Warden is a mage though, and he definitely wouldn't be that. Maybe Warrior Champion for his leadership skills? Now that I think about it, Grunt would be a Berserker for sure.

I dunno... Zevran charges into battle quite a bit.  Usually to hit whatever's dealing the most damage to the Warden.  So, I'd say, "Assassin," despite its overtones.

I thought Zevran dual-wielded daggers? Anyway, I meant it was harder for me to believe that he would be an archer, since he only seems to fight like one in the cutscenes - or maybe that's just what he does in my game. I can definitely see him being an Assassin.

See, I can't tag Assassin class to Garrus. He may fight hand to hand, but that's a gear switch when you're fighting with a melee weapon.

His weapon of choice is his rifle, that's why I went with a Rogue class since they have the perception of better long range combat.

Assassin Zev is too sneaky/in your face. Leliana, I usually had her singing and shooting... I'm not all that familiar with Duelist though... eh, but still that denotes him getting close.

He seems the one who could handle himself in one on one, but prefers to kill you from far away. XD

Though yea, Champion overtones due to the leadership thing...

Ffffffuuuuu I haven't played DA in a bit.. I'm forgetting stuffs. Oo
