Ooh, the reporter getting hers. Again. She's just not very smart, is she?

She's certainly willing to risk life and limb for a story; if you punched her in ME1 she greets you with "Remember me? The woman you punched in the face on live television?"

Yeah, Jacob's a little weird. If you navigate the dialog wheel correctly, you can get a polite conversation out of him, but it's like a minefield; wrong choice and you're headlong into sexual harassment. But he's so standoffish, even to a Shepard that's polite to him, that hitting on him is just so skeevy.

Reposted Riot's hi-res Garrus screen shot collection. Hopefully, this works (and will continue to work for a while).

I hope the media does get involved in the LI things. However who knows if that'll happen, no one ever found out my female Shepard and Kaidan or my male Shepard and Liara. The crew should also comment on that, I liked that they did that in Dragon Age. How come they didn't do it here? Only Mordin comments about it and it's just sex advice not asking you why you prefer Garrus.

I demand to hear a conversation between Grunt and Garrus talking about polishing Assault Rifles. Except Garrus thinks it's innuendo.

Edit: I can't spell.

I heard that one before. I think I'd rather keep that part of Dragon Age out.

Gameplay related question: does anyone here miss the ability to change Garrus' wetsu--er, armor? I do not.

On my main Shep, I never found a Turian armor that made him look nearly as cool as Wrex in that crazy armor with neon green or something on it...but I was able to do it with the other squaddies. I almost wanted to leave him behind on all my missions because of how goofy he looked compared to everyone else. Lucky for him, his ability as a squad mate has nothing to do with his sense of style.

I am grateful that ME2 had him strolling around in perpetual badassery.

Absolutely.  I hated most of the color schemes for all of the turian armor I found and I'm a little obsessive about colors and armor with my squadmates. (Garrus must be wearing dark colors, Wrex can only wear dark colors or metallic ones, Tali can ONLY wear her default Hydra, No two squaddies can have the same type, nor the same color armor...I just ended up going through the game with Garrus in his Agent I stuff. )

(...Whaaaat. Don't look at me like that.   I was on Casual and I had that glorious HMWSG X....he got through all right.  (Also: Dear lord I miss that shotgun. I'd kill a man to have that thing back. :crying:))

So I was definitely glad to have him look good 100% of the time with no stress about it. Aside from the fact that it has huge gaping holes in it, anyway.  In fact, I was glad to have all the squadmates with standard outfits...they just needed to be more practical.

Also, blood colors for silentstephi:

humans/quarians: red
krogans: orange
salarians/batarians: greenish-brown
turians: blue
asari: violet
geth: whitish/purple fluid

Drell are red? Man, I was hoping they were yellow. Mass Effect rainbow!

Wait wait wait wait wait....
Asari have purple blood?

I picked up some armor that was the same model as Nihlus's, looked pretty sweet (though he does look better in blue). But then I got some light Colossus armor, which was vastly superior...but looked so bad, oh man. I ended up sticking with the Nihlus armor just out of principle (principle of not wanting him to look like a stop sign, that is). The Mercenary armor was pretty cool on everyone, though. Moar armors!

After I finally found the armours, I spent every playthrough running around with Garrus in Phantom, Wrex in Rage and everyone else in Colossus. What can I say, I like matching teams. :P

In other news, a Cerberus Daily News article has given us the name of the asari councillor! Hopefully that means we'll eventually get to know the name of the turian councillor too.

My god, you actually managed to legitimately find one of the Geth armors for Wrex? I salute you. After four complete, doing-everything playthroughs I had to resort to save-scumming at the apartment on Intai'sei.

I thought the turian councillor was implied to be Valern? You hear about Councillor Valern having a dispute with Udina, and when I think about someone likely to start a fight with Udina, salarian isn't what comes to mind...

Yeah, it took a lot of playthroughs. I think I finally found it on my 4th or 5th runthrough with my 'perfect shepard'. Also, I am never doing a playthrough without charm/intimidate again.

Huh, must have missed that one. Was it on an Emily Wong news vid? I seem to have missed a number of those :pinched: Valern does sound like a turian name, and I agree that the salarian councillor would be unlikely to start a fight.

Looks like we're just waiting for the name of the salarian councillor, then.

If Shepard or his/her romance interest get to punch that reporter again, they should also be able to watch it on TV with the news reports. xD Then the squad members can comment on it.

In a way, it's nice that I don't need to scroll through Shepard's whole inventory in ME2 and buy updates armor/weapons/upgrades every now and then, but it'll take me a while to get used to the new weapons system. Is there any way of knowing which weapons are stronger, or should Shepard just pick a few favorites? I'm not used to not seeing their stats listed... I like the armor system better though - the custom colors and patterns are awesome. One thing that didn't work so well with the ME1 system was not being able to see what the armor would look like before buying it. For my male Shepard, I ended up buying yellow armor because it had the best stats, and then I made Shepard visit other stores until he found some armor that didn't make him look like a walking target.

Also, about turians swallowing rocks... I've been thinking about this scene with a much younger version of my Shepard for a while. xD

Turian & Shepard: *eating turian food*

Turian: Wow, you're the first human I've ever seen that eats the same food as us. :D

Shepard: Really? But it tastes even better than human food!

Turian: *puts rock in his mouth*

Shepard: *picks up a rock and opens her mouth*

Turian's Father: O__O Stop right there, Shepard!

Shepard: *stops moving and looks at him*

Turian's Father: Good. Now, put... the rock... down.

Shepard: *puts the rock down*

Turian's Father: *sigh of relief* The humans never would have let us forget it if she died like that. >_>;

Fun food fact for human beings: we can derive nutritional sustenance from anything that A) does not kill us and B) is not silicon-based.

Fun food fact for avians, reptiles and some other animals: not all creatures with a gizzard swallow stones to aid digestion - but most of those that do choose very small pieces of grit.

Thus I somehow picture the salt, pepper and sand shakers at the turian meal table in the C-Sec break room.

Cold, hard numbers for the weapons are here and here. Annoyingly, there isn't a 'best' weapon anywhere, they all have their own drawbacks and advantages. For example, the first AR, the Avenger, is weaker than the second, but has a larger clip size and can be fired continuously, whereas the second, the Vindicator, is much more powerful and accurate, but fires in a three-round burst and runs out of ammo faster. The Mantis, the first sniper rifle, has only ten shots, but is extremely powerful. The second, the Viper, has something like forty shots, but is much weaker. The only  weapon I would consider 'best' out of a single type is the DLC Eviscerator shotgun, which is head and shoulders above everything else, even the Claymore, which is supposed to be the awesome 'advanced training' shotgun (but is actually kind of crappy since you only get one shot before reloading--and if you're close enough to be using a shotgun, you're gonna want more than one shot before reloading).

Thanks for the info. :) I'll have to compare those lists to my Shepard's in-game weapons, but I'm pretty sure she's still using the Claymore (I don't think I've changed it since the advanced training), one of the machine guns, and the Collector Particle Beam (which is her favorite, but she uses the Grenade Launcher sometimes too).

I can just imagine her talking with Garrus about all the changes weapons went through during the past two years. xD She would probably say "I love this particle beam" the same way Garrus says "I love this rifle."

For some reason, this image is strangely hilarious to me right now. I blame the fever.

I also blame the fever for the amount I've been posting lately. Where did my lurker status go?! :o Or perhaps I should blame all of you for being awesome :P

Emily Wong named another of the Councolers as Councilor Valern.  We don't know though if thats the Turian or Salarian one though.  I think its the Turian one.

I dislike that too. I liked putting armor on my teamates and I don't care if BioWare thought that people would find it frustrating. I bet more people would buy the game if we could manage our teamates. Imagine if teamates had armor customization. People like customization a lot. Why not add more?

There's probably some law some where that some how, the more X chromosone possessed, the more effective armor is when there's less of it.

It made more sense to change out armor every once in a while. I imagine it's like a bike helmet or Kevlar. It's only good after the first impact.

Slightly off topic... but did anyone else notice Tali's thread got stickied? Oo

Bu-bubut... Garrus love?:crying:  Where is our sticky turian squish?
(Warning: This may not make any sense... I am currently fighting the plague.)
