Honestly... no clue.  I was wondering even if turians bathed, but since they sweat, I would think that they do... which makes you wonder... how they get clean... because... well.. it's an important detail!

I have a turian character living inside my head who says, "soap + washcloth = win -- something a lot of humans and no small number of batarians could clue in on".

Beautiful level of detail in her work.

That was a great picture. I hope they do depict the romance more like this in ME3. I wanted to see what a Turian chest looked like, sadly ME2 doesn't have that.

Did anyone else squee watching Garrus toss Harkin around the room like he was nothing?
My idea: Garrus - shirt + FemShep/tanktop = hand-to-hand combat scene!

Re: Garrus and traitorness.  It would certainly evoke an emotional response...but the fact that almost his entire character progression in ME2 revolved around the idea of revenge against a traitor, hello makes the idea of him pulling a 180 in ME3 a little hard for me to swallow.

Yes, thank you, this.

BioWare shouldn't have to sacrifice character integrity in order to create drama. I can't imagine Garrus being disloyal, in any sense of the word. Frankly, I'm not even sure I want relationship drama. It just sounds corny. And especially considering that the romance subplot is usually limited to just a few conversations, I'd much rather have them be enjoyable ones in the final installment of the series.

If they want to give us an opportunity to have something horrible happen to our LI (or our relationship with them), then fine, but it should be avoidable depending on the player's actions.

If ME3 makes me cry, they better be tears of happiness. I find that those moments leave a bigger impression on me in the long run anyway.

Curious question: Turian eyes remind me of cats eyes. Not because of shape, but because a majority of the time, they glow, or reflect light.

I wonder if it means they have low light vision? /ducks

Turian eyes actually seem more like bird eyes to me--very clear and brightly colored. I never noticed any "glow," myself.

Yeah, Chellik really stood out with his glowy green eyes. We already know they can 'scent' (that or Harkin was pretty rank), so other predatory-ish features like seeing in low light would not surprise me.

Yes, very raptor-like, in my opinion.  Mostly I just see intensity there.

...I see a lot of this idea of Garrus having a sharp sense of smell in fanworks.  Am I the only one who thought he was just using the phrase in the same way a human would?  Not literally smelling him, but implying that Harkin is such a filthy person that you practically can?

I don't know, I think my brain is automatically downplaying all of the Turian senses to around human level, everything except sight in order to make that sight more seem more impressive.  Like I said before, Those eyes scream HAWK at me and I assume that, like a raptor, sight is the most powerful sense that Turians have.  Hmm though, do raptors also have a sharper sense of smell than Humans?  I never thought to find out.  Must research...

Raptor as in bird of prey, or as in dinosaur? They kind of remind me of certain seabirds and grackles. But the eyes are deeply set like you'd see in an eagle or hawk.

Also, they keep reposting pics of Kaidan's head pasted on attractive men's half-naked bodies. No joke.

I have a feeling they would say the same thing about this one:whistle:

There are many attractive human men's bodies. Garrus is the only one.
We win.
So, Garrus's voice: http://www.mediafire.com/?nytozn2gyyy    My favorite ones. norgr_starter_h_S_INT.051.mp3 - caaalibrations!!
Extractor: http://www.mediafire.com/?ojm2mzbjn2t . i've included ReadMe.txt in my poor English languge. Hope it will help...  Battle lines are stored in ss_global_hench_garrus_S_INT.afc. Have fun!
Garrus

First link isn't working for me?

I agree with Silt that the Harkin line is probably just an idiom...notably, Garrus uses way more human colloquialisms than any other turian. In fact, it's canon that they have difficulty with the concept (apparently their language is fairly literal). I wonder if he picked them all up on Omega? An archangel is most certainly a human concept, and it seems believable that the humans were one of the more downtrodden groups on Omega.

I don't quite buy the idea that the translator just found an equivalent, since Thane's 'siha' didn't get translated into valkyrie, which seems like an acceptable equivalent. And if translators could go between metaphors that smoothly, it doesn't seem like there would be metaphor gaffes in the first place (see: Lorik Qu'in).

Yeah.  I'm fairly certain that Archangel was probably first given to him by some humans and the name stuck from there.  Not too much of a stretch, considering humans are treated like dirt on Omega (Well...everyone is treated like dirt on Omega. Still.) and it's likely that Garrus's actions helped them in some way.

Thane is the boy you romance if you have an emo side (a dying man's last snatch of hope), or are just really, really into assassins (and don't mind sharing his heart with a dead wife whose memory is as vivid to him now as if she were alive....)

Would it be completely elementary school of me to say that I read that as FemShep being Thane's "last snatch", period, and died laughing?

Anyways, still going through the the new posts so I don't know if this was added yet, but I found this new Garrus & FemShep video set to Lifehouse's Broken.

Awww that was a sweet vid.  A little hard to watch because of the bouncing, but really awesome that they made a vid using an Xbox game!

Oh a bit of a tangent... it has Garrus footage in it, but the song had me cracking up, as well as the footage...

Bird-like or human-like eyes, but with a thick black ring on the outer edge of the iris. You can see the white of the eye on the outside of this when turian characters look around or if they open their eyes wide, but it's barely visible in most cases. Combine that with a deepset eyesocket, typically dark skin around the eye (even on pale Mr. You Humans Are All Racist!), lack of eyelashes and vivid eyecolor (glass bottle green, honey amber yellow, gold-flecked blue - even brown eyes on a turian seem more bronze than brown) and it does almost look like they glow.

This works for masks, oddly enough.

They did a great job of getting Shepard to emote better in this game. I just love Shepard's expression when she sees who Archangel is. Her guard down and she's just so happy! Oh those crazy kids!

For FemShep, yes.  Her small little smirks are absolutely priceless during the Garrus LI scenes - I especially love the nearly undetectable smile during the 2nd romance conversation as Garrus seals the door behind her for some privacy.  It just shows that FemShep has him right where she wants him, and knows it.  Posted Image

ManShep, however?  Shudder.  And paired with Mark Meer's To Catch A Predator-style delivery...  Posted Image

Interesting thing I'm just now noticing - Renegade Shep's cyberneticly-enhanced eyes get almost the same pattern as TIM's, towards the beginning, except red/orange. I wonder if that means that, ultimately, TIM leans Paragon.

Oh and Garrus, just to keep it on topic. Actually... I do wonder if they'll let his scars in ME3 reflect the fact that he's Renegade. He is, he's just not Darkside/Stupid Evil Renegade. Garrus has ONE job, by God, and that is to GET THINGS DONE. That kind of Renegade.

While we're on the subject of turian eyes, am I the only one who noticed that the skin around Garrus' eyes is a lot darker after the recruitment mission? Do you think he actually had to have that skin replaced? When he's lying on the floor in a pool of blood, the camera does a close-up of his scouter eye and it looks completely fine though...

I also find his expressions MUCH harder to read after you recruit him. Maybe the scenes during his recruitment mission just have much better lighting and cinematography or something. Or maybe I'm crazy.
