Good for you if you don't understand this comic's reference.

Ow, my sanity!!!

(Wanna know a secret?  That's the other reason I REEEHEEEHEEEALY don't want Garrus's sense of smell to be particularly above-average.  Any possible similarities that my poor fractured mind can make between HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED and Garrus....Do not want.)

Ha, I hadn't put much thought into it.  But regardless, there's very little Garrus and that pretty boy have in common.

And thank the spirits for that (Hey, I found my version of Keelah se'lai!).  Partially because there's no way he could ever evolve into that because Shepard and That Puny Damsel in Distress could not BE more opposite.

See, thinking about differences makes me happy.  Similarities, however slight, make me wince. (<---aha.)

Well if we're going for "Gets me every time", this one will always be the best in my book. It has never been beaten.

Those comics are hilarious. xD My favorites are the one with Garrus and Tali, and the one with Garrus and Kaidan. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up Tali. I'm a freaking riot." Also, the thought of Mordin making an inter-species relations video with a Barbie doll and turian GI Joe would probably make my poor Shepard laugh out loud. She'd watch it again after every depressing mission.

Kim Shepard, i like your Shepards. My own Sheps don't talk to each other, they all talk to me. Voices in my head. o.O One of my Shep has turian friend, he is financial genius and he likes to collect musicial instruments of diffrent races. He even has stradivarius violin. hmmm... Do turians have musical instruments? how it look like? need research.

I like to imagine them all in the same "playthrough" together, talking among themselves and the rest of the squad. xD A lot of them are also related to each other in some way, which is why they can all be called Shepard (of course, they don't call each other Shepard... they use first names). Shepard #7 was not really named Shepard, he just changed his name several times.

Illusive Man: You have no idea how hard it was to get a complete file on this guy. >_>; Five names? Really? Even C-Sec is convinced the man never had a childhood.

THIS is the kind of comic I love. My absolutely favorite Garrus one.

I mean, the others all are lolworthy to some extent, but as they joke about the romance and Garrus' attractiveness, I find it more difficult to laugh.*

I wish I had ideas for comic strips. I thought about a panel once, but it wasn't a very funny thing anyway, so I never bothered.

*Because I take the matter seriously, not because I'm not attracted to Garrus. I AM, just saying, it was just an accidental ambiguous statement.

I don't have the patience to find the one where a special drink was left for Shepard and she for some reason drinks it.

That one KILLS me. Every. Time.

Guys. I *heart* this thread.

(even though there are times it makes me wanna curl up in a ball, I always recover! :D )

I have another Garus theory though (which is mostly cos I spend waaay to much time thinking up Garrus stories, not cos I think it could happen). What if Garrus is an undercover Spectre? We know he went in for the selection... we know he admires the way they work, and his skillz are wicked fierce. As the first human Spectre, in charge of a mission which involves the fate of the universe, maybe the council needed extra insurence, so they sent someone to babysit Shep and gain her trust, but he's finding himself entangled in her web of love!

I think I need to go to bed. Lol. Thanks for all the lulz, guys. I promise, more coherent posting in the morning. XD

This would make sense actually, spectres are above the law and are allowed to do things their way.  Gar could have been made one and asked by the council to see what happened to shep. After all, cerberus could have make a fake or a weapon from shep's dna, if anyone can tell it's really him/her its shep's best friend and squadmate. Since it IS cerberus gar keeps his status a secret just to observe what is going on and also to make sure that his friend is in control of the situation and not being used. Maybe that's why the council doesn't overreact about her/him working for cerberus  because garrus has told them that shep is not being used and that her/his only goal is helping the colonies and doing something about the collecters.

He surprised us once in ME2 (badass cowboy!) so shep finding out he was made a spectre could be another surprise from him..and also for his dad maybe?

Ah, but what if the dad thing is a cunning ruse to throw Shep off the scent?!  Maybe his dad was a council member, or a high up military commander! lol

In any case, Garrus certainly knows how to handle himself, much more than your average Turien or C-Sec officer. And as someone (sorry, it was several pages ago) pointed out, joining C-Sec required nominatation and was quite the honor, so Gar already has to be pretty high up in the Turien military ranks. I know we normally think that underhanded covert ops are the realm of the Salerians, but Spectre, as you say, are above the law, and Garrus has said before that he is not a very good Turien. There is something afoot there, methinks.

(Sad thought: all the above is true, and Garrus is tailing Shepard for the council. All his romacne awkwardness is therefore down to how far he thinks he is willing to go to get his mission done, rather than 'cos he's cute....)

OK - I apologise again. Actually going to bed now.

-_-

Edit: sorry for double post!

It's not really possible to look at that pic too many times. =^_^= <3

Also, I'm not sure about the undercover Spectre thing...if Garrus had made it through the training, what was he doing getting cornered in Omega with no one from the Citadel coming to his rescue? And I agree that Garrus is by far the least likely character to ever betray you, even if something else important to him is threatened, he'd find some way to deal with it. However, I can see him doing something to protect Shep from herself. Nothing specific really comes to mind though. :( It would have to be circumstantial, like if you're letting yourself get turned into Cerberus's lap dog. However, being as you may have chosen to tell Cerberus to bite your armored ass, not everyone would be able to reap the benefits of that. I think the devs are going to want to "2-for-1 special" as many cutscenes as possible.

I agree on that picture, they should've made the romance like that.

As for the spy/spectre thing, it could be possible. It would explain the ThaniX Cannon. No one in the Citadel can help him over there. If there was anyone it would be a big risk especially if they found out that the Citadel has been spying on Omega. That could cause a war between the Terminus Systems and Citadel Space or maybe it wouldn't but who knows. I seriously doubt that he was there because of the Council. If you ask me he was there to do what he thought Shepard would do. He was there because he got lost in life after Shepard died. Garrus and Shepard were very close in ME1, it would be logical to assume he missed him/her too much. There's also the destruction of Shepard's career by the Alliance, maybe he just couldn't handle it. As for him getting in that position, I think the death of his squad and Shepard's death made him really angry. I'm sure he could've escaped if he wanted to but like he says his feelings got in the way. I'm sure we all saw the body bags, maybe he wanted a proper funeral or his squad's death just made him want to gun down as many mercs as possible. I think he didn't even care if he lived or died in there.

I bet Shepard's reappearance is what made him care about living again. Garrus did go through a lot and that's what makes me believe that all this happened because of all the things he went through.

Garrus as an undercover Spectre just seems silly to me. Plus, I think Spectres have better things to do with their time than become vigilantes on Omega.

See the thing is... I think people are over thinking where he got the Thanix Cannon info.
Honestly, even though the best minds in Turian/Human relations made the original Normandy, that doesn't mean they shared every secret they could between each other.
Add another 2yrs since it's creation (and who knows how long the first one took to actually be designed and made) and things could have just progressed naturally technologically.
Normandy 2 is an improvement on what the turians/humans created, but it only had human improvements. Who's to say that Garrus didn't have knowledge of some turian tricks that the Normandy 1 didn't even have?

It's just my .02 as to why I don't think he's carting around some ulterior motives (spy/Spectre/etc) around. It's just Garrus... he likes guns... and calibrating.... /strangle

Edit for redundency.

Garrus is probably getting screwed over by Sidonis when Shep's first meeting TIM. The idea that he's a plant doesn't make sense at all. And while I think he's a better liar than most turians, I don't believe he has the kind of discipline necessary for an emotional undercover op like that.

Oh btw... has anyone ever come across another Turian in game with the same tat's as Garrus?

I was thinking about it today... and went through my shots again... and I think I might need to play 1 again because I really want to know if Garrus's tat's are unique... because this will put a serious wrench in my Tattoo DB... because I like run on sentences... (fails at grammarz)
