For instance I forsee family and friends finding out about this. It's rather difficult for me to hide my love/desire for Turians like Garrus. Eventually people are going to put 2 and 2 together, ya know? I'm sure at least some of you (especially artists) are going to have to deal with that too.

It's bad enough that this is xenophilia, and most people are freaked out by that. But add to that the fact I'd have a rather overt gay love for him and then.. well heads would randomly begin to implode around me.

It's all fine and good to obsess on here with fellow g-fans, but damnit all if I don't feel nervous about people finding out off of here.

My family has a large sense of humor, and with this in mind I normally just throw things out there.  My dad would call for something or other in the middle of a Garrus flirtation scene and I'd just tell him "Daaad, I'm trying to have sex with an alien over heeeere!  :pinched:". 

Also, I am very big fan of comics and with that comes lots of dress up - my parents have seen me in a wide variety of sexed-up and/or bizarre costumes.  You shouldn't feel ashamed of your interests - I find that if you're the first to bring them up (and own it) then no one can really embarass you about it.  It's harmless fun at the end of the day.

If you ever need a dress-up friend I am totally game!

I don't really recall anyone saying in a serious manner that they wanted Garrus and Shep to have cutesie-poo nicknames for each other, everyone's freaking out over the notion of them putting the brakes on epic-final-battle-action to rub noses and call each other sugarmuffin. I think what some people were saying back in thread v.1 was just that they could see a moment in a huge battle where survival was uncertain as being a trigger for Garrus to actually say "love" outloud in public. And even then it wouldn't be all sappy, it would be more fierce or desperate or something. I certainly wouldn't want them to have any silly nicknames out of character, but at the same time it would be nice if they had...like...inside jokes, or something. Just anything to help define them as a couple and show they have a closer relationship than with the other squadmates.

What exactly does Thane say, if you can remember? Just curious, I love the siha thing (romanced him on one playthrough too, but didn't take him to battle).  Yeah we were saying in the first thread for a while how nice it would have been to have a short exchange between Shep and Garrus when she assigns him to fireteam, about how it's her way of saying she still believes in him despite what happened to his Omega squad...it would have been touching.

I don't remember it that well...allow me to paraphrase "Siha, I spent my entire life attempting to right the wrongs of evil people...let us not become that which we seek to prevent".  I know I am ALL sorts of wrong in the wording, but I think the general meaning is the same - he was trying to be all ominous about handing over the base to Cerberus.  Unfortunately for him it was my renegade playthough, and I did it anyways.

I realized after the fact that I did that with my Shep. They're both Moira.

I have one Vanguard who will be an Arcane Warrior, but this one just seemed right as a Berserker. xD The origin stories had something to do with that too - the City Elf background fits him well. The poor guy is my "experiment" character though, so any mistakes (like not being able to figure out how to save the mages... *facepalm*) happen on his playthroughs.

@Tootles FTW: The Shepard I'm using for the Thane romance is more likely to keep the base too. D: Now he's going to make it hard for her (even though she'll probably do it anyway).

Can't you buy a dirty magazine on Omega with a Hanar draped on its back as the cover photo? That was weird. I think I bought it too, just, you know, because... There's something ridiculously funny about that.

That's what we need next - a Krogan romance option! Now that's something I can get behind - err, in front of. I mean...eh heh, yeah anyway...

Out of curiosity, I know a bunch of people are hoping for DLC interaction with LIs ( and I certainly wouldn't complain), but is that really a feasible possibility? I pretty much look at it and say "That would be cool, but there's no way that's actually going to happen." It doesn't seem like something Bioware would go to the trouble to do, but who knows.

A few of my Shepards would definitely want a krogan romance if that was an option. xD And it almost was after defeating that thresher maw.



Well, I never download anything, so I'd rather not miss out on any awesome Garrus romance DLC. >_>; If they did make some though, I'd just watch the videos on youtube.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me - shoot, I still have to play through Dragon Age again on my online gamer-tag, bleeeeh. It's still pretty disappointing that they would exclude LI interaction, but then I consider romantic subplots and whatnot to be an integral part of any story - game play without story just isn't the same, and vice versa. 

It's the character interactions that really bring a story to life for me. I always want more of them then there are, especially when the few you get are so well done, like with Garrus. The more interactions, the more fleshed out and real the characters become - makes the whole experience that much more memorable and epic.

Yes, but Dragon Age wasn't intended to be a trilogy like ME. In DA:O, the gravity of your choices don't hold as much weight.

Plus, they may both be BioWare games but they're still made by different teams.

Doing my 3rd playthrough right now, and I highly recommend (as mean as it sounds) bringing Garrus with you to the quarantine zone to pick up Mordin. Not only does he make a couple cute comments, but Mordin has some unique things to say to him in regards to it being "unlikely" that a turian would work with a human due to (AHEM) "tensions".
