A whole week without Garrus.

Can this thread be called Garrus Support Thread V3: Calibrate this! ?

(lol - while I get love and adoration is better than support, I always feel bad we have no 'support thread' for the former Officer Vakarian)

lol Thane and Jack, they both got "sunglasses", I want glasses tooo ( oh I must get away from this thread for a bit. I spend too much time here. It gave me bad dreams last night, probably pictures of these Turians which someone put and there was really one which I didn't like, one with white "skeletor" markings and with cape, that ones scare me alot when I see them. That is only kind of Turians which I don't like ( like one in Afterlife which gives you drinks). Dunno why, they look so dark so evil. This one in my dreams looked like that one, be he was fully black with green glowy markings on him and silver shiny eyes o.O waaaah! Lol I dream turians...
Oh and about name for new thread... Well I am fine with Love and Adoration. It is just important that it is up and that we continue to support Garrus ^^

It's kind of funny how I just wrote Mass Effect and its series off as something I won't be interested in. Now I love the game and enjoy constantly thinking about Garrus. I feel like the female of some undefined species inside a teenage male's body.



I'm not interested in using Thane very much, new costume or not, Obviously fixed armour for Garrus will be nice, and I like Jack's new costume, liking the visor and jacket.



I love all turians, even with those markings that might look scary. Super-evil turians will turn me off, probably. I guess I feel closest to Garrus because he's hot, he's a badass, he's part of the party, he's been friends with Shepard for ages, and he's the only romance I'm aware of in a game like him.



That Aliens in Love 2 is my favourite Garrus comic on deviantart. Tender, heartwarming, and such. Aimo's work is all amazing.



I'm not too fussed about what the name is going to be, just as long as well can all get to love and adore Garrus and so on.



Just wondering, is anybody here going to not have Garrus as a LI for at least one playthrough if he's in ME3? I'm a little worried he's going to have all sorts of dialogue that I won't be able to see if he's my Shepard's lover.

Grunt: AAARGH! Damn turian! This song again?
Garrus: I... like it.
Grunt: I feel like.. I want to... break.. stuff. Can I have my claymore?
Shepard: No honey, we left your toys at home.
Grunt: But I need my gun! I have to protect us when the animals come after us!
Shepard: The animals are caged, honey. They won't come after us.
Grunt: Caged? What's the point of that?
Shepard: It's fun to look at. It's going to be a lovely day, right darling?
*Garrus smiles reluctantly*

...awkward silence...

Grunt: Are we there yet?
Shepard: Nope.
Grunt: I'm hungry. Can I have a snack?
Shepard: Oh no, dear. You just had a snack before we left.
Grunt: But I'm hungry.
Shepard: You'll get an icecream when we get there.
Grunt: I'm hungry NOW!
Garrus: *slightly frustrated* Please, Shepard... just give him a snack.
Shepard: No darling. Raising children means we have to act consistently. It won't help him if I say no and you say yes.
Garrus: *whispers* But this is really annoying.
Shepard: No, we can't give him a snack.
Grunt: I'M HUNGRY! I WANT TO EAT SOMETHING! COME ON! I'M DYING HERE!
Garrus: Just... give... him... a... snack...
Shepard: No.
*Grunt puts on his pouty face*
Shepard: Ahh, look at that. You earned your snack.
Grunt: Omnomnomnom.

...*awkward silence*...

Grunt: I have to pee.
Shepard: We're not stopping now. I told you to go before we left.
Grunt: But I didn't have to pee then.
Shepard: Come on, you're a big krogan. You can hold on until we get there.
Grunt: I really have to pee.
Shepard: We can't stop, honey.
Grunt: Then I want my toys.
Shepard: No, you're not getting your toys.
Grunt: *bouncing on his seat* Stop being so cruel, mom! I mean.. Shepard! I don't want to go to the stupid zoo. I don't want to watch stupid animals if we can't kill them. And I'm still hungry. And I reaaaaally have to go to the bathroom. *whines*
Garrus: THAT'S ENOUGH! I've had enough of this! You're going to listen to your mother! And you're going to like this trip to the zoo... whatever it is. Stop whining or we're dropping you off with your godfather on Tuchanka!
Grunt: .......Did Garrus just get mad at me? Looks like we're going to have fun after all!

Yes.  One of my Shepards will remain celibate to reunite with Kaidan. 

Doubt there will be different dialogue, though.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if the dialogue was completely different, It will be the last game. Bioware won't need to worry about save files so I think that this is where we see the true effect of our choices. I can't wait, it's going to be insane.

Well, there might be ADDED dialogue like the LI confrontation eveyone seems to want, but the base dialogue may remain the same.

My current Shep is being celibate for Kaidan, too. And it's so darned hard not to run up to Garrus and chat him up when he's right there. But I'll settle for taking him with me everywhere I go like a best bud. He has the awesome thing going on and I can't leave him behind.

I totally flirted with Garrus up till Omega 4 just to have the SAVE right before so I could break it off and that was my "faithful" run.



Cause I can't help running down to the main battery.

Hmm, I didn't think about when Garrus suggested buying dances for Grunt that much, but I thought about it for a little bit, and call me innocent, but is it the same provocative "dance" meaning that I think it is?

I always run down to talk to him every mission, normally. But he's, as everybody states, always calibrating. Still, I like a hard-working man. At least he puts time aside for you when you're romancing him, which is sweet.

"Have you got a minute?"

"Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations"

*few days later, romance starts and so on*

"Have you got a minute?"

"Absolutely"

I'm not interested in Kaidan at all, and I did start with Mass Effect 2, so I guess I'm always going to play as the "hot for turians" femShep all the time, I guess. Screw Kaidan. Though any of the will-be-faithful-to-Kaidan people here willing to let the others know how the Garrus friendship and Kaidan love playthrough goes?

Though, who of Ashley and Kaidan react worst to Shepard and Garrus at Cerberus during Horizon? I'd like a playthrough where there's more reason for them both to really appreciate that they're loyal friends.

And... just a consideration... when Mass Effect 3 ends, and that whole universe stops being used... will the Garrus fandom dramatically die down, or will our fanboy/girliness live on? I'd love to say I'll always hold Garrus in my heart... but what about further on in the future?

Well, obviously I won't be romancing him on my Manshep run.



Right now the playthroughs I have lined up and at least partially completed are

[X] F Paragon Soldier, no romance -> Garrus

[X] F 'I don't give a f*ck about your alignment system' Vanguard, no romance -> ??? (might lead Jacob on and dump him for Garrus just to hear the 'cuttlebone' line)

[ ] F ??? Sentinel, Liara faithful

[ ] F Paragade Adept, Kaidan -> Garrus

([X] M RP alignment Infiltrator, failed at Ashleymance -> Tali. I'm playing him as Ciaphas Cain. He also defies an alignment system)



Ever since I remembered that they're going to use the datamining thing to determine ME3's content I've been kind of paranoid about doing the other romances. What if my single character is the one that tips the scales

I saw an article online saying that BioWare hopes (if the games continue to sell well) to continue making games in the Mass Effect universe. Mass Effect 3 is the end of the trilogy story arc, but possibly not the end of the universe (just like Halo 3 was the last of a trilogy but they still made Halo Reach in the same universe.)



Even if they don't put Garrus in any more games after ME3, I think there will be lots of fannish stuff going on as long as new games are being made.

Ashley and Kaidan have pretty much the same lines. She calls Shepard a god, though, and Kaidan calls her a legend. They both yell at Garrus.

Even taking into account the people that did not understand the poll and chose the wrong option (a male player choosing the "female, liara" option) I think enormousmoonboots' poll is showing that Garrus is the most popular female love interest in Mass Effect...

I prefer his original Archangel Armor for it's battle damage and color scheme. I think the only reason I don't like the Loyalty armor is because of the battle damage. It...just didn't make sense. It's new armor, right? So why the damage? That being said, I welcome the new armor for being fixed. Jury's still out on the color scheme.
