Warning: Shameless pride in offspring to follow!

Aynxalot: *Playing ME1, Squad screen, upping Garrus' skills. 4-year-old daughter ("MiniAynx") climbs into my lap to watch*
MiniAynx: "Mommy, who's that alien?"
Aynxalot: "That's Garrus, honey."
MiniAynx: "He's handsome."
Aynxalot: ........."Yes. Yes he is."

Note: Hand to God, I've never had any inclination to indoctrinate my offspring with my Garrus love. That is what made this such a win as that I had to post it. =^_^= It's official- even children can see it.

/gushing

I myself like the new armor and even the orange visor. But then, I'm not terribly picky fashion-wise in general. Very easy to please, actually. C'mon, DLC!!

Your daughter has good taste.
;D

I don't really like the colourscheme. But I want his armor to be fixed, walking around in half broken armor doesn't make any sense. He already has his scars to show off the battle damage.

:wub::wub::wub: gotta love your daughter.

Now, if only baby Grunt would say that... :P

-edit-

Oh yeah, I just got home from class. Someone was giving a presentation and I was totally convinced that I put my phone on mute. Guess I didn't... "NEVER SAW ME COMING!" I was like... huh... Garrus? Here? It took a few seconds to realize that it was my phone telling me I got a new SMS

@ More games in the ME universe, fair enough. Though it'd be nice to see more Garrus, and perhaps if it's set in the events after ME3, then you get to see the consequences of what you've done, including if your femShep ended up falling in love with Garrus and hearing about it. Well, I'd be satisfied with more Mass Effect universe. More turians and stuff.

I'm playing ManShep as filler until I can get ME1. I normally play females. It'll have to do, even if I have to control myself from throwing myself at Garrus as ManShep. To be honest, something about femShep makes me feel she's more compatible with Garrus, even if Garrus was sitting on the middle of the fence.

I guess I'll save Ashley over Kaidan, anyway/then. Not sure why. Poor Garrus though, he gets yelled at no matter who's alive.

I voted "Male, but Garrus as my favourite femShep romance," I hope I understood the poll, not sure if there's any sort of strange loopholes and such if all you really want to do is play as femShep. I guess it's expected that the majority of the males' favourite femshep romance is Liara. I'm a little surprised there is so much Garrus support from the males, however.

It's strange that I'd rather bonk a male non-human sentient species like the turian or fall in love with a human female, than bonk a human male or fall in love with a female non-human sentient species like the turian. What the hell am I?

I wouldn't like Grunt to be the adopted child of femShep and Garrus. Too beefy and angsty (if that's a word or how it's spelt). And, I'd be thankful that Garrus didn't die. If this was real-life, you wouldn't be able to replay a save and rescue Garrus. He'd be dead. You wouldn't let curiosity get the better of you then.

Am using the Garrus persona, actually. It's simple, but I like it. Garrus in the corner of the window

I like the look of Garrus' rebuilt armour. Though, I don't notice the damage on his old armour so much. I seem to enjoy staring at everything but his shoulders. Face, chest, back, arms, hands, legs, hips, feet and so on, but not shoulders.

I guess it's almost as if when your squad is loyal to you they can be bothered to just get their old clothes and spray paint it for you. But nothing more.

Maybe the flashing blue lights show that he can still kick ass and not get kicked back so much, even with flashing lights pinpointing him in the middle of the battlefield. To be honest, keep it a secret, but I think his ass gets kicked the most in my whole party. Though there was that amazingly idiotic moment in the Alarei when Garrus and I were killing Geth down below from the cover of the fence, and Tali just randomly decided to run down the stairs and face them on.

And your daughter finding Garrus handsome is so amazingly adorable, soon, Garrus fans shall multiply and take over the world.

Also, Garrus mobile phone noises? Awesome, just awesome. I should probably do that.

I love that it's fixed, but that should've been the case with his loyalty armor.  Loyalty Armor's still definitely my favorite (The red inside the collar is so damn striking).

This new one, ehhhhh....not really a fan.  I think it's the lightish color of the collar and the orange scanner that turn me off of it.

Of course, I'm still looking forward to the whole thing because, you know, THANE IN SUNGLASSES.

I guess I'm in the minority thinking the new armor looks really sweet.

Of course if I had the choice I'd just have them give us a fixed version of the loyalty armor.  I always put my Shepard in dark red armor and when I unlocked it and saw the red inside the collar I was like 'Awww how sweet Garrus decided to coordinate.'

Yeah, busted-up loyalty armor had me thinking "wut?" But the black was awesome and suddenly he matched my FemShep (black w/blue trimming). We'll see about the new armor.....did you say Thane in sunglasses? :D

I mean....Garrus. Garrus, Garrus Garrus.

=^_^= Yeah. I love my kids regardless, but that comment put me in a great mood and enticed me to spoil her rotten for a while.

And I'm guessing I'm in the minority who don't like Thane. Oh well. More garrus focus.

I like the look of the new armour, though as I've admitted, I enjoy looking up Garrus everywhere, but never noticing or being ticked off by the damaged shoulder part of the armour. If anything, with Garrus's limited wardrobe, I'd see myself coordinating with Garrus to make us closer than the other way. I liked the loyalty armour, too. I'm strangely attracted to the metal plating on his feet amongst everything, too.

After coming to terms with Jack's boob belt and Miranda's painted on body suit I have given up any hope for realism and logic in the ME universe.  All my brain is capable of at this point is, Oooo SHiney look lights as opposed to dang Garrus, you gonna get shot.

And now Jack gets a nice jacket and visor to cover it up and change her general appearance of attitude.

Well, my Garrus gets shot quite a lot for me, anyway, and it's not as if he's a walking Las Vegas neon sign. I mean, Grunt's pretty lighted up, and he's large, to boot.

In fact, in the confusion of the battle field, I don't think the glowing lights are going to make you target Garrus especially. The lights are quite spread out, not too bright, and may confuse you. And maybe there's an option to turn them off.

And, it may be a double edged sword, not just one to stab into yourself. It'd help you know where Garrus is and therefore makes it easier to help him.

Not that I'll be able to get his new armor, but I don't mind the glowing lights. xD If Shepard can run around in bright yellow and pink, then Garrus can have glowing blue stripes if he wants. I like the fact that his eyes are now visible through the helmet (although one of the first things I noticed was the missing scanner). The red/orange scanner just seems a little strange because I'm used to the original... he never takes it off, and it hasn't changed in ME1 or ME2 until now.

I'm glad Jack got a real shirt in her loyalty outfit too. Even the Shepard who will romance her would want her covered up on the battlefield. xD It would be too distracting for him otherwise.

Eventually, I'll have a Shepard for every romance option and more. :) The only two with the Garrus romance are my main Shepard and her "clone" who looks exactly like her, but will make a few different plot choices (saving Ashley instead of Kaidan and destroying the Collector base) to see how they change ME3. If Garrus was with any other Shepard, it would feel like he was cheating because my Shepards are all different people.

@aynxalot: That story was so cute. :D Even children like Garrus.

Hahaha! I was fascinated by her boobbelt. I still wonder how it... stays in place. I don't think it feels great though, leather constantly rubbing your nipples. And not even one nippleslip. Female celebrities from the 21st century can learn a lot from Jack.

Oh well, it's a videogame, so why am I even thinking about it.

Forget the 'shoot me' lights, Thane has.. Shades?

Don't see someone like Thane wearing shades. Shepard, Jacob, Garrus, maybe? But thane? way too... 'Spiritual' for shades.

Bright yellow and pink armour? Nice and adventurous. I like. I guess I'm not too keen on the orange scanner, either. Blue was so much more his colour, in my opinion. Goes with his facial tattoos. Now I'm not sure if I like it now or not.

Cerrydd, this is a video game, and yet here we are loving Garrus to pieces. Though I seem to be the most out of control/fanatical of the fans. *sigh*

I'm not actually that interested in any of the romances, the only person I've a heart for out of the whole cast is Garrus. Which is quite sad, but it's how I feel. Eh, point above probably proven.

I make some of my Shepards romance characters I don't even like. xD (Poor Shepard #11 will have to romance Ashley and Miranda, and Shepard #10 gets Kaidan and Jacob... but in the case of Kaidan and Jacob, it's not that I don't like them as characters, Kaidan just annoyed my Shepards on Horizon, and the same goes for the automatic flirty voice around Jacob.) I do like Thane though, just not as much as Garrus. The different personalities of my Shepards also make them have different choices in romance. :) The poor Shepards who have favorites that aren't romance options though...

Aria: Don't **** with Aria.

Shepard #7: I think BioWare is trying to tell me something. D: She's not a romance option.

Maybe Jack's actually male with a tiny amount of fake padding and some oestrogen? Jack's got pretty baggy trousers, too. Would be a surprise for MaleSheps.

I haven't played femShep yet, actually, but are her breasts that bad?

My mind is swimming with ways to **** with Aria, if possible. That'd be pretty fun.

Cerrydd, I'm glad I'm not the only one, then. Always nice to have other people who share the same interests. And don't forget to get a pair of proper melons when you go shopping. I think you'd like them.

Is it possible to get everybody killed on the suicide mission aside from just Garrus and Shepard? Intensely sadistic, but curiousity pips me.

Just trying to get to know this fanbase a little more, but how would you honestly react if somehow Garrus and turians existed? Not just Brandon Keener or some humans with Garrus-like attitudes, Garrus and turians? Disgust or fear accepted. Charging them in the middle of the street too. And any other extremes and middle-ground. Just curious because quite a few like Garrus because of personality, some don't like how he looks, and some find him intensely attractive, so a situation would be an interesting way to test it.

To be honest. I'd run into cover, burst in glee, leave, and try to make friends. And unless Garrus is sitting on the fence in terms of attraction to human genders (even though he doesn't have a human fetish), I'd leave you girls to hound him. And be his BFF.

I think Shepard, male or female, has an average body type for someone in the military. I don't know why anyone would have a problem with it, unless they want further customization options for Shepard's body as well. o_o;

Yeah, Shepard #7 was disappointed. xD I think Aria would like him though. He's very good at dealing with criminals (he has the Earthborn background, so he is technically an ex-gang member), and he did her personal quest.

I've always thought turians were cute, ever since the first time they showed Nihlus. (I don't remember if you played ME1? He's the first turian to appear.) Still, it would depend on the way humans and turians discovered each other in the galaxy. I like Saren's character, but if a lot of turians would hate humans the same way he does because of the First Contact War, then I wouldn't want to approach a turian. It would be awesome to have a turian friend, but my main Shepard is the only one brave enough to take the risks. xD But I can imagine her running up to Saren as a kid/teenager and trying to give him a big hug, so she could almost be considered equal parts brave and foolish.

Shepard #2: ...I'm three parts brave, and only one part fool. >_>;

Well, Cerberus was supposed to give Shepard a few improvements, just didn't replace anything important. Though I think you'd have to be quite (self?) obsessed if you want to change anything other than her face.

I do wonder how the hell the merc groups could imagine they could take Aria on. I doubt that little pack of guards around her are the only things she has defending her.

I've yet to play Mass Effect 1, and I actually want to wait to get it before starting a romance with Garrus, which requires a lot of self-control. Which I alleviate by daydreaming. I've always been talking about getting ME1, but I guess the only logical thing I can do is talk my brother into getting it for me, but he's already got quite a bit of stuff (including ME2) recently.

I'd love to take the risk and make some good turian friends. Unless human-turian relationships started with the First Contact War, then of course I'd probably be a bit worried about them. I might end up pulling through in the end. It'd be nice to show that we could be decent to turians. I guess I would take the risk. Unless there's a group with guns and stuff. Then I'd run away. Obviously I wouldn't scream, because that would make me a target.

Hmm... it's actually interesting to think about how our relationships with other species in the galaxies should have been.

Who knows, maybe Mass Effect is an amazing prophecy, Mass Relays exist and we'll be off making connections with all sorts of characters. There's nothing saying aliens couldn't exist, I hopefully don't think. It'd be extra awesome if these aliens are like in Mass Effect. And not those masks in kids' shops *shiver*

And, taking it further, I'd be some young Sentinel serving on Shepard's team, and I'd always hang around near Garrus on the Normandy. Learning about him, being friends, watching him calibrate. And get adopted instead of Grunt when Shepard and Garrus hit it off *sigh*

...Hypothetical situations are awesome.

I'm a C/D-cup, and I can keep an ace bandage around my boobs with nothing but the power of its own self-adhesion and still be able to breathe and everything fairly well, so it's actually not inconvievable that Jack runs around in a belt bra. If it's tight enough--and attached to a collar no less--it should actually have no problem staying up. Now her skin's magical ability to stop bullets as well as my superior future armor, that is problematic.
[/TMI]

Flammie: Femshep doesn't have excessively-sized boobs at all. The only problem I have with her body type is she really ought to have thicker/more toned arms, but I can live with that. Some people think the armor looks a little too busty, but that's just because it's like an extra inch worth of padding (and inexplicably molded to her individual breasts, but again, that's a minor complaint).

You need at least two squadmates to survive at the end (since you can continue playing after and the game refuses to let you play with one squaddie). Only one person, and you get dropped.

I voted "Male, but Garrus as my favourite femShep romance," I hope I
understood the poll, not sure if there's any sort of strange loopholes
and such if all you really want to do is play as femShep. I guess it's
expected that the majority of the males' favourite femshep romance is
Liara. I'm a little surprised there is so much Garrus support from the
males, however.

No, you got the poll right. I don't understand how people keep getting it wrong, I wrote everything out at the top and the discussion topic. Poor reading comprehension? Sigh.

Garrus is most popular with dudes for, I think, the following reasons:
1) He's a massive bro. Thane and Kaidan? Not bros. Wrex and Garrus was the 'bro squad' of the first game, so men liked him from the beginning.
2) This is getting a little bull**** psych here, but since he doesn't look like a typical attractive human male (Thane and Kaidan) men see him as less threatening (and possibly less gay). Possibly the gender-swapped version of this also applies to Tali? She does tend to be women's favorite female character, and she's also not typically attractive.
3) The meanest site on the internet came to the consensus that it's not gay if it's Garrus.

I kind of like the look of the new armor, but until I get a good look at the wires on his face, might not use it. I do like the color scheme, though; I'm convinced it's an elaborate Paragon/Renegade joke (blue/gray/orange, you can influence Garrus down either of those paths). Also, I believe one of the reasons for the hole in his armor is cinematography; it allows you to see the bottom parts of his face. Notice that on his loyalty mission the 'camera' most often comes in from his right. It also gives him a touch of vulnerability; a hole in his armor, if you will. /dohohoho

I just played Thane's LM this morning, and I noticed something interesting--if you choose to Renegade Interrupt Mouse, Shepard shoves him up against the wall, throws him to the ground and puts her boot on his throat. Sound familiar? I had Garrus as the third member, and all I could picture was him saying "So you can do that to someone who annoys you, but I can't do that to Harkin? I can't have any fun."

I'm not disagreeing with Jack's belt bra (apart from the slight promiscuity implications), but I think there's more protective things she can wear in battle. Though I think the bullet-deflecting powers go to Miranda. Or perhaps Miranda is more death-defying.

Quite strangely, I seem to love Garrus for the same reason as the fangirls, so I may as well have voted as "Female, Garrus". Well, I guess those are interesting thoughts on why he's popular with normal men.

Hmm, thinking about it, perhaps the reason Garrus is second most popular could also be due to elimination.

FemShepxLiara: It is pretty much female on something that's near female, something you see enjoyed by most stereotypical men and such. It is the most popular, so I don't know why I'm talking about it.

FemShepxKaidan: I don't think most males like Kaidan in terms of look or as a romance. Pretty simple. I don't like him myself.

FemShepxThane: Same as Kaidan, I guess. I don't like him myself, either.

FemShepxJacob: Same elimination process as the above two? I also don't really like him

FemShepxKelly: I guess the stereotypical men prefer Liara, or the fact that you get her earlier. It's not really a romance, and so on. I can see why it wouldn't be popular.

There's also the choice for a male who doesn't like any of the femShep romances, which is perfectly plausible. Some don't like playing femShep, or some don't like playing femShep and controlling her having relationships with males.

Therefore, by eliminating those all, Garrus is the coolest, most attractive, as you stated, "biggest bro", he's pretty manly (*pants*), which may be why males prefer his relationship with femShep the most, and might support and empathise with him more. I'm not sure, I'm no good at psychology, and I'm trying to use my own opinion, which to be honest is more as if I was female than actually male. It's interesting to look at polls, realise how people think, and then theorise on why those choices are made.

Cinematography is quite broad, there's so many interesting reasons and thoughts on why one decided to do this or such. It's an interesting theory. I myself can't think of anything too particularly reasonable thought as to why Garrus's armour is always damaged, there's too many ideas.

I think interrupting Garrus was a Paragon choice, and to use that Renegade option would basically be hypocrisy. I'd love to see Garrus call you out on that, actually. I think I interrupted him, if you could do that, but I did like seeing his... foot... pounding... down... and... pressing...

My curiosity in the magic folder is large, but I'm slightly ashamed to admit it. But could somebody screen out everything except the Garrus content... nothing else interests me, or may potentially cause me to lose my appetite forever, yet Garrus doesn't seem to do that to me.

Nevermind, I'll do it myself. Once I find somewhere to hide it, too.
