Apparently you need to romance Garrus first and then start flirtations with Jacob, cuz I flirted with Jacob first, then Garrus, and all I get from Jacob is, "You know, Shepard, I like the way this is going, but it seems to me like you're keeping too many options open. Maybe if Garrus was to step aside... just let me know if you aren't serious about the turian, is all I'm sayin'." Or something to that effect. It comes across as non-creepy/skeevy, too, which shocked the snot out of me.

What does thane and garrus say if you are flirting with multiple people?, I know from past threads that jacob makes a "cuttlebone" comment about garrus, do the other Li's make digs aswell?

Well, the merc groups also thought they could kill Archangel, so I don't think they're too bright. xD They're probably just power-hungry and want to control Omega.

Many of my Shepards are trying to show turians that all humans aren't just a bunch of jerks who want galactic control. I wonder if that turian politician's opinion about humans changed a little when my main Shepard saved him from Thane's son. :) Ironically, my main Shepard who is the most pro-turian of them all decided to side with the Illusive Man because he actually brought her back to life and is doing something about the Reaper threat. She wants an option to say "Ah yes, 'Reapers', we have dismissed that claim" to the Council in ME3, and then say something to the effect of "Just kidding, we're coming to save you" right after they look scared and abandoned. (I think the ME2 default start has the alien Council killed off. If you haven't seen the turian councillor's "Ah yes, Reapers" dialogue, then you should look it up on youtube. It's hilarious.)

My main Shepard is a Sentinel too. I think her ME1 crew would give a warning to anyone joining up with her though - do not let her drive the Mako. There's a reason why Garrus always seems to be fixing it. xD

Well, my Shepard let Garrus shoot Harkin, so she lets him have his fun. It was her payback for his flirty comments to her in the first game (and when Garrus shot him, she said "I wouldn't have shot you in the leg"). If anyone other than a turian male flirts with that Shepard, then they're in trouble. :) I used the Renegade interrupt on Mouse just to see what it did, but then reloaded and didn't use it. That was just too out of character for my Shepard - beating up a guy who was just afraid of a bad guy finding out that he told on him, right in the middle of the Citadel. In her opinion, he doesn't deserve it.

Hmm... so does anybody know the potential Garrus romance conflicts scripts?

Locked in: Garrus
Challenging: Jacob

Locked in: Garrus
Challenging: Thane

Locked in: Jacob
Challenging: Garrus

Locked in: Thane
Challenging: Garrus

Do they even exist?

I've decided that I'm going to screw TIM over in the end. Even if he did bring her back to life and such, Shepard's got a whole crew to do things herself, even if they're not getting any support, and Cerberus is a human-supremacist group.

I'm making my Shepard one for decent liasons between all species, so I'll save the council in ME1, and as I've said, I'll screw TIM over. I mean, even Miranda chooses to dump him. Don't know what they're going to do about that comm-link room afterwards, though.

I looked at the "Ah Yes, Reapers," funny, but I think I'd need to see the whole thing to find it funnier. I guess the joke's in the quotation fingers.

My curiosity in the magic folder is large, but I'm slightly ashamed to admit it. But could somebody screen out everything except the Garrus content... nothing else interests me, or may potentially cause me to lose my appetite forever, yet Garrus doesn't seem to do that to me.

Nevermind, I'll do it myself. Once I find somewhere to hide it, too.

It's...all Garrus. *cough* Can't speak as to the quality of it all; there's not a lot out there, so I save everything but the most horrible stuff. But there's some pretty good stuff nonetheless.

Porn-hiding 101: password-lock folder (label it something like 'taxes'), set folder to invisible (access it by typing in the path), or hide folder in Program Files deep under AIM or something you wouldn't delete.

If you go Jacob -> Thane, he makes a comment about women always going for drell eyes. I think that's it, though. Never heard that Garrus or Thane had any unique 'double romance' comments.

And I'm guessing I'm in the minority who don't like Thane. Oh well. More garrus focus.

Nope, I don't care for him. Appearance-wise I was all "oh cool we can romance Abe Sapien! Awesomesauce!" but then he turned out to be wangsty-emo man and I was all... "IRL and in fake, video game world? I am too old for this nonsense kthxbai".  I like Thane well enough for the story, and as a squadmate, but I'd rather grab a brew with Jacob than Thane "I keep to myself and don't socialize and read a lot and the only social adjustment I ever had was my dead wife GAWWWW I miss her so much hey did I mention you remind me of her despite, you know, you not being even vaguely drell-like?" (To which my FemSheps always say, "It's not too late, there are a lot of people on this here ship, yawp, go learn to be social - also, people get really put off by that much deeply personal exposition, so... might wanna scale that back some kk?")

Garrus.

I tried going after Thane and then dumping him for Garrus- all G-boy said was along the lines of "I know you've got something going on and I don't really want to make a mess of things." Awww, he's so considerate. Bye, Thane! I liked you but constantly hearing about your dead wife was a huge mood killer!

enormousmoonboots: I may have PM'd you about the location or what may or may not be a folder of.....Garrus-related things.

I don't know if anyone else posted this but this is how Garrus will look with his new outfit.

Posted Image

It seems to me like BioWare might want to bring back his old ME1 look before the game was released. This is what he was going to look like in ME1.

Posted Image

I don't know if that was Garrus but I think it's probably him. No other Turian wore the eyepiece besides him.

Thanks for posting those screenshots. :) I haven't been able to find a close-up. The armor's pretty cool, and I'm getting used to the color of the new scanner, but those tubes on the side of his face still look kind of creepy (even though they're probably healing his face). Not that it matters for me, since I won't have the DLC... I wonder if he'll have that same look in ME3 though.

I've never seen that second image of Garrus before. He was originally going to be barefaced?

Crap, something enabled my dirty mind. If someone wants to share the magic :wizard: fridge folder with me, please PM me. I don't have anything to share since I'm a complete virgin when it comes to this, but I'm too curious to pass anything Garrusrelated.

Now I really have to go to bed, because I didn't go to sleep yesterday. It's time to dream about Garrus. =]

That was Garrus on Caleston the mission that was cut and made into Therum a smaller version. I believe there's also that video in which he is called Garrus by Shepard when the ME1 interrupt system was shown. Yes there was going to be an interrupt system in ME1 but it got cut.

Here's the video. Look at 1:49, that's Garrus. This is another video though, I didn't find the one where Shepard scolds Garrus in Caleston for not following orders.

Thank you very much for the *ahem* magical folder of stuff. Now never
associate it with me again so someone doesn't randomly search my
username (I use it quite a bit) and names me in school or something. Haven't seen it yet, but I'm anticipating it.

And, after a bit of tomfoolery, I tried doing the "Ah yes, reapers" fingers. I've suddenly realised that Turians must have it harder with three fingers when we've got five.

I used my middle, index and thumb, if anybody's curious. I'm not aware if there's any other setting, but that's what I used. It was quite difficult, though obviously turians must have better anatomy, ligaments and muscles set ups, so they can use their fingers more deftly, but it must be harder to do fingerwork than with humans.

Okay... I'm curious about this folder too.

About the older images of Garrus, it's possible that the artists and writers just hadn't come up with the idea of turian facial markings by that point. If that was the case, I'm glad they eventually did, because I think it's such an awesome bit of lore and um, visual interest.

Who knows? However I'm glad they do exist, their face paint is one of their main features along with their eyes.

Damn, that demo looked pretty bad lol. Glad that mass effect actually turned out to be kick ass, and they made garrus look alot better as well.

I'm a C/D-cup, and I can keep an ace bandage around my boobs with nothing but the power of its own self-adhesion and still be able to breathe and everything fairly well, so it's actually not inconvievable that Jack runs around in a belt bra. If it's tight enough--and attached to a collar no less--it should actually have no problem staying up. Now her skin's magical ability to stop bullets as well as my superior future armor, that is problematic.
[/TMI]

Flammie: Femshep doesn't have excessively-sized boobs at all. The only problem I have with her body type is she really ought to have thicker/more toned arms, but I can live with that. Some people think the armor looks a little too busty, but that's just because it's like an extra inch worth of padding (and inexplicably molded to her individual breasts, but again, that's a minor complaint).

You need at least two squadmates to survive at the end (since you can continue playing after and the game refuses to let you play with one squaddie). Only one person, and you get dropped.

I voted "Male, but Garrus as my favourite femShep romance," I hope I
understood the poll, not sure if there's any sort of strange loopholes
and such if all you really want to do is play as femShep. I guess it's
expected that the majority of the males' favourite femshep romance is
Liara. I'm a little surprised there is so much Garrus support from the
males, however.

No, you got the poll right. I don't understand how people keep getting it wrong, I wrote everything out at the top and the discussion topic. Poor reading comprehension? Sigh.

Garrus is most popular with dudes for, I think, the following reasons:
1) He's a massive bro. Thane and Kaidan? Not bros. Wrex and Garrus was the 'bro squad' of the first game, so men liked him from the beginning.
2) This is getting a little bull**** psych here, but since he doesn't look like a typical attractive human male (Thane and Kaidan) men see him as less threatening (and possibly less gay). Possibly the gender-swapped version of this also applies to Tali? She does tend to be women's favorite female character, and she's also not typically attractive.
3) The meanest site on the internet came to the consensus that it's not gay if it's Garrus.

I kind of like the look of the new armor, but until I get a good look at the wires on his face, might not use it. I do like the color scheme, though; I'm convinced it's an elaborate Paragon/Renegade joke (blue/gray/orange, you can influence Garrus down either of those paths). Also, I believe one of the reasons for the hole in his armor is cinematography; it allows you to see the bottom parts of his face. Notice that on his loyalty mission the 'camera' most often comes in from his right. It also gives him a touch of vulnerability; a hole in his armor, if you will. /dohohoho

I just played Thane's LM this morning, and I noticed something interesting--if you choose to Renegade Interrupt Mouse, Shepard shoves him up against the wall, throws him to the ground and puts her boot on his throat. Sound familiar? I had Garrus as the third member, and all I could picture was him saying "So you can do that to someone who annoys you, but I can't do that to Harkin? I can't have any fun."

Wait... you mean Mouse does something different if you don't shove him against the wall?
/fidget...
Anywhoodle, I actually like Tali the most because she's this like adorkable girl.  When she says things like, "I'm scared, Shepard," I can't help but go D'AWWWWWWWWW.
Miranda and Jack set off my **** alert, both for their own reasons.  I have a hard time sympathizing with women who have a similiar brain wavelengths.  I've done the Paragon stuff once before on Jack, just to see if she mellows, and she does, but I still can't get myself to like Miranda.  Samara, alas, will kill my Shepard when she gets the chance.  Ah well, coulda been a fun friendship.
I like the new Garrus armor... Dynamo lights and all XD
What's the meanest site of the internet? Oo

Is this new armor part of the Kasumi DLC? Any pics of other armors? (I;m hearing talk of Thane in shades, that would be ridiculous in the most awesome way possible.)

And is it wrong that I don't want those tubes to be fixing Garrus' face? He looks much more badass with the battle damage IMO.

I'm sure he'll always be scarred, but maybe in the next game it won't be so raw.
