Maybe I'm just a sucker for drama, but I really like the fact that my main Shep romanced Kaidan and then moved on to Garrus.

Edit: I also agree that Garrus could have worked out find for an m/m romance.
Not necessarily better than Thane...his exposed chest just says "gay" to me.

...totally kidding about that last thing.

My main Shepard only romanced Garrus, so she has no relationship drama. xD The two that romance Kaidan/Jacob and Ashley/Miranda will though. Actually, I'll make that one Shepard romance Ashley and Miranda just for the drama.

Then there's evil Shepard, who needs to have some kind of intervention in ME3. If his romance interests ever find out about each other, he'll be up against an asari commando, the "perfect" human woman, and an Ardat-Yakshi. The Shepards who romanced no one will watch that confrontation and laugh.

Garrus: oh ...and Sheperd, I wanted you to know...that night, before the mission, something finally felt 'right' for a change. It never was just about 'blowing of steam' with you, you know that don't you?

Shep: Of course I do (puts a hand on his chest) If felt right for me too Garrus.

Garrus: I’ve never felt this way about anyone before, or felt this determined to make something work. Maybe it’s because I've never met anyone like you. You keep showing up in my life and you somehow find a way to make it better each time. I don't know how you do it and I'll doubt I'll ever know. But I do know I want to be with you Sheperd. Whether its saving the galaxy together or being with you after its saved. If you're willing to give us a try, I promise I'll try my damndest to make this go right.

Shep: (They hug) I’d like that.

Garrus: Glad to hear it! I have to tell you, I was worried I was going to say something awkward or wrong again...how did I do this time?

...I don't know, I just see something more in the femShepxGarrus relationship. Unless there was some sort of exact-copy of my delicate personality or something in there, then I wouldn't mind so much. But the original ManShep seems a bit unsuitable with Garrus.

I think all my playthroughs are going to be loyal to Garrus, but I'll probably end up researching what happens in all other situations. When ME3 comes out.

Hmm... how I'd like post suicide-mission LI dialogue goes... could I think about it?

Also, does anybody know the romance conflicts dialogue and what everyone says after the suicide mission, save or destroy the base? I'm not quite there yet, and searching doesn't net me anything.

If by romance conflict dialog, you mean what they say when you try to romance two people, only Jacob gets unique lines. "Garrus? That cuttlebone?" and "Women always go for those drell eyes." Thane's is pretty neutral/weird, something about knowing the eyes of another are on you. I can't recall Garrus's properly, it's something like "I don't want to get in someone's way".

Post-suicide mission, essentially it's everyone supports you for destroying the base, calls you a moron for keeping it. Even the Cerberus squaddies, which is hilarious. Only Garrus and Mordin have more neutral lines. Garrus's is pretty much "I'll support you no matter what". Grunt has a pretty excellent one if you nuke the base--"We've killed the most dangerous thing in the galaxy. That just leaves...us."

The main reason I'd buy Garrus as a gay romance is that he gives the same line to male and female Shepard after you complete his Saleon quest in the first game (and go hard Paragon/Renegade with him)--"Commander, I wanted to thank you. I've never known someone quite like you...I--uh, n-never mind." It just sounds like such a 'nervous crush' line.

Garrus as a gay romance? Honestly I disagree to that. He seems too manly to do that. Even if he does give the same lines I bet a male would interpret it differently. For a male it would be just being friends as for a female it would probably mean flirting IMO. I have nothing against a gay relationship in the game or anything but I don't want Garrus to have a gay romance.

Lol. I don't mind if any other person gets a gay relationship but I say stay away from Garrus in that regard.

Eh, it wouldn't iff me too much if they gave Garrus m/m romance, even if I don't think it suits either of them, but I'll probably still end up romancing Garrus as FemShep, regardless. MaleShep playthrough is only as procrastination until I can get a full playthrough (e.g. ME1 as well) with FemShep.

I'm starting to dislike Jacob. Especially from a FemShep's point of view.

...And my love for Garrus has increased, even more than it was before. Even if I'm always going to go Paragon.

And, I haven't heard Garrus's voice when he makes that comment, and I guess you could interpret it that way. Although, I kind of read it as looking up to Shepard, which he suddenly feels awkward about. If I was admiring and thanking somebody like my commander, male or female, I'd try looking for the right words to say, get confused and in a muddle, say some things that I may not have normally, and my nervousness would probably catch up with my tongue pretty quickly.

I think I would have tolerated Jacob more if I didn't feel gross every time I spoke to him. I was expecting porno movie background music at times, yeesh, 'I just feel like talking for a bit...' and the classic 'but the priiiiize'. yeah,I'm going to go heabutt Garrus now.

If the option for same sex relations was in the game, I can somehow picture Garrus being attracted to maleShep. Blowing off steam with his only friend left in the galaxy. He never considered cross-species intercourse, so he probably never considered same sex intercourse. But of course I have no idea of his thoughts on homosexuality. I'm curious about the opinions on homosexuality in the Mass Effect universe.

Thane, on the other hand... well, he could be part of The Village People in the 20th century. It's fun to stay with my S I H A
