I've been playing around with FRAPS lately and taking screen captures of some characters. Figured I'd contribute these to the thread...

The magic folder doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The CSI videos are great

Garrus in a tux... interesting. Infact, the idea of any turian in formal wear would be a sight to imagine.

I think falco meant "couldn't" because if you watch the trailer, I'm fairly certain that it's just you and Kasumi-chan. Could be wrong though but I definitely don't have my hopes up.

ETA: Linky to trailer...Garrus does make an appearance in the part when you go to give her the "password" but @ about 0:24, it looks like it's just the two of them in the shuttle.

The trailer needed Garrus in it since Shepard was fighting in such a classy place with vases and statues. Reminds me of the antique stores and electronics shops.

Oh damn, if I was Garrus, I would have been fuming about being left behind. Shepard could have finally taken him someplace nice.

There once was a Turian Survivor

Well known as a keen *koff* diver

Claimed it wasn't a "fetish"

Then turned kind of reddish

Three fingers? No, she's got a fiver...

Awww, I wanted a gun strapped to my upper leg while in a short red dress
with heels and Garrus in a tux with a sniper rifle.

:crying:

Win.

Just... win.

And person who saw the "ahem" folder and bugged out...
That's why it's called Ahem.  Plenty of warning on this thread about it.  Not for the faint of heart.

There once was a Renegade Spectre
Loved a Sentinel, but he chose to reject 'er
So she started salivating
Over Garrus' calibrating
Turns out the visor was a love detector.

Upon seeing that image, the theme from Batman: The Animated Series immediately began to play.
...Duncan's Beard, that show was awesome.

I see that a certain topic keeps arising and I'm wondering if this thread is willing to discuss it...
The topic [TURIAN GENITALIA]
I don't expect any confirmation from Bioware about this kind of thing...but...do you think that for male Turians it is...um...stored internally or is it an external organ (humanoid)? Why?

Just from the way they bend... I'd have to say the "armor" from the rib cage to thigh area has got to be limited to non-existent.  So... external.  Not only does Garrus crawl and crouch and squat with a similar flexibilty to humans, the turian in that expedition store does, too.

Most of the rigidity seems to be in their upper torso.

Blaaarg, my apologies for not being so active on the forums these days! Life has kept me very busy. I'm also working on a playthrough of Mass Effect 1 as Garrus and am putting together a very large picture pack download for everyone which will be divided into multiple sections for each area. It's slow-going. I've covered the Normandy and Eden Prime so far and will be doing the Citadel tonight. I have a lonnng ways to go, but I won't be doing the majority of sidequests until after I finish the screencapping.

This will cover a ton of turians and not just Garrus. Settings will be maxed, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Images will be in JPG format and taken via FRAPS.

I'm not sure if I should wait until it's completed or release in segments - I'll leave that to the community!

And yes, a playthrough of ME2 will follow :D

I see.
I also think it's external but I have no reasoning outside of "I want it to be."

Yessssss! More high-res Garrus~
You're a saint for compiling these...
Considering the size of the files, you should probably release it in segments.

Heh, gotta think of these things if you're gonna write fic. ;)  The hip and stomach just can't be that armored or he'd be about as flexible as an armadillo.

That's about as flexible as an armadillo gets.  So, yeah... little to no armor on the stomach and hips.

I also think their armor would look more like this:

blogs.technet.com/blogfiles/mikep/WindowsLiveWriter/ClaireOHalloranakatheArmadillojoinstheB_99FB/Armadillo%5B1%5D.png

just dull metallic, like stainless steel.

*LOL* I've seen a number of people (fic writers, mostly) decide that they're "retractable". You know, all of that radiation on Palaven and such...XP Or if they say internal it's because of how the concept art looks, but we have dismissed that claim. (I mean, srsly, what dev artist is gonna draw an alien dong and expect to be taken seriously?) Image IPB

I second the "external because I say so." And because we know, unlike other things, that's one thing we can count on BW to leave to our imagination. Or ARE they.....??? O_O

Turian Batman is an amazing picture, and good luck with the hi-res images RiotLaFontaine.

I think turian genitalia is external, but I don't have any *cough* hard evidence about that apart from my own desires. I guess Sialeter's points are actually quite fair.

I've somehow managed to write a story where Shepard and Garrus made love without one mention of his phallus, quite interestingly. Though that was going to be the first and last time I wrote such a scene, for a while, I've got other ideas swarming my head, so I haven't actually thought about turian genitalia in detail.

I don't think being armoured makes turians completely rigid, even in the upper torso, I can see them being quite limber, actually, even the males.

I shall now go procrastinate and name every sound file in the folder I downloaded from this thread.

The problem I have is that a lot of people describe turians as having an "exoskeleton." An exoskeleton is a very specific biological thing. They are a vertebrate species. They have an endoskeleton and a thick, metallic hide, maybe, but not an exoskeleton.

Hmm, the wiki, which I think directly quotes from the codex, vaguely calls it a "kind of ‘exoskeleton’", where they have a metallic hide to protect against radiation, so I guess that's where some confusion originates.
