Sorry, introducing Trigun to an unsuspecting friend.

So far, mission success. XD

As far the origin of names... if Garrus Vakarian isn't roman enough... then there goes my whole the colony names might match up with some of the turian names and their origins. Then again, I just don't know enough about the roots to names or language...

I wonder if Garrus can even say his name... like... the way his mouth is constructed... I'd imagine he'd have problems with like R's er something. With the big open spaces and all...

Or vaquero, which is Spanish for "cowboy"?

I think we have a winner!!  Seriously, it's kinda perfect

And I wish the whole Garrus/garrulous thing were literally true...who wouldn't love to hear that heart-melting voice more often!?

Edit (for previous post):  I've never noticed that Garrus has any trouble saying any of the words, but I guess that's because his translator is translating them?  Hmm, you might have a point.  I'd sure love to hear the turian language untranslated for once.  They should have a mission where everyone's translator fails at once and you have to solve it while listening to everyone speak in his or her native tongue.  I'd love it!

I think Garrus comes from "garrison."  In fact I think I read as much somewhere.

And aynxalot, I figured it'd be the legs and thighs getting chafed. I don't think their evening would play out like the lust murder from Se7en.

O_O Chafing, like minor rugburn, not horror of horribleness like in Se7en!! Oh dear god the mental images....strike thee from my mind and purify the thoughts of Garrus!

Well, I'm sorry too. Last time I said anything I got chewed out. And that time wasn't a joke. I got a little defensive.

Sorry, it's fine.  I agree that there are better things to discuss than the anatomy and mechanics of fictional genitals.

Indeed. As long as it doesn't turn out he's shrieking and squawking all the time. That could be... disenchanting.

But I like how Shepard's translator makes him sound just like Brandon Keener run through a filter.  Seriously though, this would be interesting.  I can't even guess what turian or quarian would sound like, and there's no indication in the games or books really...Maybe Garrus takes Shepard on a trip to Palavan, they get separated, and her translator breaks.  Oh noes!

It wouldn't be the first time they had alien languages represented in a game.  Reminds me of the KotOR quest with the stowaway that only spoke Mandalore I think.

Wow, I thought it was his palm this entire time too but it looks like I was wrong. That's quite sweet.

...Can we talk about Garrus that excludes...erm...that. I mean, isn't the facebook chat for topics like...that...?

This is why I tried to change the topic, unsuccessfully--granted, I'm female and an adult, but I really don't want to read that much about a fictional character's genitalia.  I'm not trying to be a butthole here, but I'm honestly surprised the thread hasn't been locked for content with the number of times some people have sidetracked it to be about Garrus's man-parts--especially considering there are people on the board under 18 years of age.  Yes I know the game's M-rated.  But I also have seen people here confess to being as young as 15.

Not to mention, it makes me uncomfortable enough that I've drastically reduced my posting here even when I have something to say--and again, I'm an adult.  I know you were hoping to be more like 'Biology class' level, but it's not coming across that way.  If everyone on the board were 18+ and never checked it at work (I know a few people who do, although I don't), then I'd say nothing.  Please think before you post.

My two cents, hate me for it if you want to.

Why would we hate you for it?  I was trying to keep it to biology class since the armor thing bugs me.   I brought Garrus to Tali's trial and he did what every teammate does -- sits at the top of the stairs hugging his knees.

He also tugs on that neck ring for his armor if you let him stand still long enough.  It if were actually covering a physical part of him, could he be doing that?

The concept art does indicate that they've got really pronounced "clavicles."

Since his armor's covering the collar bone/ridge thing, he might be itchy under there or something. Maybe he's trying to shuffle the armor so it's less uncomfortable/restrictive. Kind of like a human wearing a tight collar (like with a tux maybe?). I dunno. Just a guess.

True, but not big enough for that ring.

It just bears repeating because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Image IPB  I don't know why the talon-curl looks so obvious there, but anytime I watch the scene play out it looks like his palm. Maybe if we'd gotten 10 more seconds of that scene we could have been able to tell.....*sigh*
Meh. I guess enjoying what we did get just makes it that much more meaningful. Crap, now I have all of these ideas for a fanvid but I am technologically retarded. And don't have the right programs/game format. Image IPB

Well I'm just going to say that blarg, my drawing sucks.  Blarg.  That massive Mass Effect Meme is taunting me.  I wants to do it so hard... but every time I pick up the pencil, fail pours forth.  Nyar! /shakes fist

I think I'll work on the Thane vid now that I have the song on my PC.

And honestly, keep up with the talking about anything and everything turian related/Garrus.  I dislike being censored.  /is grumpy and wants her RPG book...

Yeah, it's very cute that he obviously doesn't want to hurt her.  He also looks like he's carefully watching his hands, so he doesn't do anything terrible by mistake.  Either that or he's eyeing the fasteners on her clothing, or maybe hoping she'll rest her forehead against his again.  Take your pick.  That tender little shoulder-stroking moment is one of the reasons (aside from the whole 'they started off as friends' thing) that I believe that Shepard and Garrus go well together.  Both of them want what's best for the other, and Garrus, at least, seems to genuinely care for Shepard.  Whether or not Shepard feels the same for him is entirely up to the person playing Shepard.

One would hope so, but you could play a manipulative Shepard if you wanted to.

Makes you wonder what Garrus' reaction will be if Shepard runs off back to her ME1 love interest in ME3 (if that's possible). Or if she just dumps him. Of course he'll respect her wishes, but he'll probably be pretty devastated that the one thing in his life that was finally going right was taken away from him.
