Well...I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt a bit. I put a lot of daily hours into that thread, but y'know...if someone else really wants to take a stab at keeping up with all the Garrus stuff, then I certainly can't and won't stop them. On the bright side this frees me up for more fanfic writing, so there's a silver lining. ^^
It's funny, because I was kicking around writing a fanfic before, and now that my thread is closed, I feel like I HAVE to. (Gotta contribute somehow, and I can't draw for ****, lol.)
I will miss it, though. I know what you mean. It would be nice if Stanley Woo had PMed some people "Hey, your thread's about to get locked, get ready to make a new one."

Went from snickering to full out lols at this line. This is awesome. xDAnastassia wrote...
Shepard: There's something sweet and almost kind
But he was lost, and he was beat and so resigned
And now he's dear and so unsure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before
Garrus: She glanced this way, I thought I saw
And when we touched, she didn't shudder at my claws
No, it can't be, I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before
Shepard: New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in this turian I simply didn't see
Joker: Well, who'd have thought?
Kelly: Well, bless my soul
Mordin: Impossible to have known
Jack: ****, who indeed?
Chakwas: And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?
EDI: 'Love' is peculiar
Together: We'll wait and see a few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before
Legion: Consensus reached, there's something there that wasn't there before
Kelly: There may be something there that wasn't there before
Jacob: What? With that cuttlebone?
Shepard: Shut up, Jacob. Important people are singing.
I'm so sorry. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

Oh, and way to steal a topic that was made, cared for, and maintained by someone else. Hope you feel proud of yourself.
It's an internet forum thread, no need to get petty.

Now we know who Bioware likes more...
Tali thread gets to 1000+, with a moderator commenting 600 or so pages in, no lockdown till today.
We get locked at 150.
Nice move....
Tali's thread is like shockwave: it keeps going and going and leaving a wake of destruction. Our discussions are so intense and awesome that we're more like a singularity: not as big or flashy, but just as dangerous.

I fail to see why it matters who creates the thread or not. Meta Ray Mek will do fine.
Thank you.

Still think regardless of who's maintaining it, Garrus is a great character to keep in ME3.
And I asked this on the LJ comm, but question:
if turians have their tat's to indicate what colony they hail from, why does Garrus have one? He's from the home world, Palaven. Did they have their own symbol as well? (It wasn't mentioned if they did or not)

It's not the fact that she made the thread. She made it in record time, without the permission of the OP, copy and pasted without permission, and didn't even acknowledge who's been putting work into these Garrus threads all along.
If the thread had been down for a week with no contact from Eradyn, then fine, the thread's fair game. Not the case. As you say, it's an internet forum, so petty or not, I voice whatever damn opinion I want

New thread, I guess the old one reached it's limits.
Stanley Woo went around and locked all of the romance threads.
Harbringer did assuming control on Stanley

Saw that. (Maybe I should really stop lurking the place and join the comm.)
I'd imagine Palaven has a regional tattoo as well, since it sounded like the hostilities during the unification war weren't just limited to the colonies. They'd want a way to differentiate.

Besides, I was at school and I couldn't really edit much asides from getting the thread started. I'm going to credit Eradyn for the formatting and stuff.
Look, if it bothers you guys that much, just ask one of the mods to close this and let Eradyn start the new thread. Considering a bunch of drama's been going on IRL for me right now, I don't have time to try and defend myself anymore. =/

Eradyn can always do the next one in another three weeks, assuming the mods go lock-happy again. ... The important thing is that we have a place for Garrus love. He's bigger than all of us... right? ^^;
I do think you should put a shout-out to Eradyn on the OP though, Meta Ray Mek, seeing as she originally compiled all of that for us.

I'm aware Eradyn is very vocal about her love for the character of Garrus, the content and maintainence of the previous thread(s) shows as much! But I wouldn't say she holds a monopoly on the "Garrus-love" content or threads pertaining to the support of the character. Maybe she does and I just sound like a moron right now! I don't think it matters who "owns" the thread so much as the same enthuasistic discussion of the beloved character is maintained.

My theory is that Garrus' insignia is a different variant of the C-Sec insignia that the Turian and Salarian C-Sec officers use. However his is different so it could be the Palaven insignia. Who knows?
That's what the C-Sec Turians use. I'm guessing it's a C-Sec insignia for Turians but I may be wrong. I still doubt every Turian in C-Sec belongs to the same colony.

So! If the tattoos are for colonies, then would Garrus' be for a particular city, country, or is it just the whole Palaven tattoo?
PS: Thanks, Anastassia.. I told my mom about your revised 'Something There That Wasn't There Before' lyrics, and now she's been humming the song for like ten minutes.. XD

So on that note... I'm curious to know what you guys think about what role Garrus should have in ME3 if Bioware decides not to include him as a squadmate. Frankly I'd like to see him helping you out in an unofficial capacity by forming his own team and trying to win people over to your cause that way. <-- Though again, only if he doesn't get added as a squadmate. What about you all?
Given the fact that Turian's who have no tattoos are considered 'bare-faced' and untrustworthy, Saren for example, I can't imagine that Pavalen didn't at one point adopt it's own tattoo insignia if it didn't have one pre-colonial era.

As cool as it would be for him to be in charge of his own group... Noooo! He has to be a squaddie, my FemShep needs her second-in-command-slash-turian-boy-toy. <3Nyaore wrote...
No need to fight you guys. What's done is done, nothing we say can change that. Besides this thread is renowned for it's jovial nature and sense of camaraderie, no need to cast that all aside now just because someone else decided to remake it.

If he's a side-character, I want him to be one you can interact with as much (if not more than) Joker. He should be there to help you, even if he's not on your squad. Though, honestly, why wouldn't he be? What does Garrus have to do aside from be at Shepard's side? He's Shepard's right-hand man.

Ah, But Chellick is a C-Sec Turian (And I hear he's Executor now. Good on ya, mate!)

And his tattoos are different. The wiki (which I assume is taking the info straight from the codex) seems pretty clear that it's for the different colonies.
