Since more character development for each character is practically destined for Mass Effect 3, what area of Garrus' life do you think would be explored? I assume a more personal side if he's your LI, but for those who aren't...

I do too. But this is a general Garrus support thread - I can imagine people don't want to talk or read about turian genitalia. Not everyone is into this, and we have underaged people posting here. So we can at least tone down the intimate talk here

Yeah, about that. I, for one, utterly reject the idea that I should have to censor myself and tiptoe around on eggshells because some minors who a) are technically not even old enough to play the game, and  are breaking site rules might happen to stumble upon my posts and be scarred for life. (homg, penises exist! The horror! The trauma!) Sorry, but I'm not here to be anyone's babysitter. If some pure and innocent fifteen-year-old lies their way past the age question, sees a post about turian genitalia and gets squicked, they have no one to blame but themselves and/or their parents.

Sorry for the pissiness, but the "zomg think of teh children!" attitude on a messageboard for an M-rated game kinda irritates me. A little.

True, and I totally agree with you on that. There are worse things to find on teh internetz. However, it's not just about kids, but apparently there are also adults who feel uncomfortable when we talk about these things. I don't think we want to 'scare off' (potential) Garrus supporters who want to come here to talk about the awesomeness that is Garrus.

I knew people would have a fit over what I said.

I already said it:  I'm an adult, and a female, and I don't like that the discussion returns 3/4 of the time about Garrus's penis.  Yes, it makes me uncomfortable.  There are other places besides public forums where you can go and talk about Garrus's junk and no one will mind.  Here, there are both men and women who are fans of Garrus who really don't want to see it--and in all honesty?  Even if it were a perfectly scientific discussion (which it never is), I'm not sure this is an appropriate place to go into in-depth discussions about turian reproduction.

Yes, I do think it's wrong that people discuss this and link to downloadable porn when you know there's at least one fifteen-year-old around.  Maybe he didn't flout the rules.  He might be from a country where the game is rated 15+ (I think I heard it is rated that way somewhere).  Yeah, I know that it's the Internet, and that fifteen-year-olds pretty much know all about this kind of thing by now unless they were raised under a rock.  However, as adults, it seems kind of skeevy to be talking about/linking to explicit things with kids around.  Maybe you don't feel the same way, but it makes me really uncomfortable.  Would you talk about this kind of thing in front of your friend or coworker's fifteen-year-old kid?  Maybe you would; I wouldn't.

Again, if it weren't for the skeeviness factor of talking about explicit stuff while having kids on the board, I'd either deal with it or go make a less X-rated thread.  However, mature game or not, it's not an adult-only board.  Or have you not considered that there are parts of this forum which are visible to everyone, including guests who haven't registered?  I do believe that this board, too, is visible to everyone--they just can't post unless they own the game.  So maybe it's not just that fifteen-year-old who posts and is registered.  Maybe it's some 13-year-old (or younger) who got on Mom or Dad's computer and ended up here somehow.

I'm not trying to be a killjoy here.  It's just that I frankly consider this turian penis stuff to be very immature--and the reaction of some people to my previously polite request that it be toned down/omitted to be even less mature.  Yes, I'm sure I seem like a prude.  No, I don't care.

Can I say one thing? External. Too much evidence to support otherwise. That is all on that topic.

On Gar Vs. Kaidan....I'm seriously thinking Kaidan's hair is some sort of weapon of mass destruction. Garrus better watch out...that bump is totally packing. (Did that sound wrong )  Seriously, though, I would love to see a confrontation but my girl told Alenko to GTFO and then Virmired him to add injury to insult. If it turns out in ME3 that there WILL be some sort of 'deathmatch', I have no problems making another Shep for that purpose.

But that makes me wonder about Gar Vs. Liara...she can flay people alive...with her mind.

Much like Tali, Garrus speaks pretty factually and occasionally references Turian culture...so, aside from wanting to him to calibrate less, I'd like to hear more about his opinions on things. The crew, the ship, the mission, weapons, armor, Shepard's Eezo hoard...etc.

Additionally, he should tell more stories. Personal stories from C-Sec, Omega, or Palaven? Or maybe something like "Hey, Shepard, remember when you slept with the consort? ...Wasn't expecting that." or "If you hadn't let Grunt out of the tank, would you want to go halfsies on the profit from his testes?"

If that sparring scene was included in ME3 and Joker interrupted them, I think my Shepard would shout into the intercom, "What now?! The galaxy can wait!"

My main Shepard and her "clone" are the only two who romance Garrus, but if there was an epic scene where Shepard could encourage Garrus to punch Kaidan back, I'd give Shepard another clone just for that. xD I don't hate Kaidan, but I think most Shepards who romanced him were really upset/angered by the Horizon treatment.

As for Garrus vs Kaiden...I can't really see Garrus bragging about his relationship with Shepard to Kaiden (or anyone else for that matter) or provoking him in any way unless Kaiden started it first. And I can't really see Kaiden actually starting a physical fight with Garrus. As funny/awesome as a fight would be, I just don't see how the writers could start one without making either Garrus or Kaiden OOC.



Garrus vs Liara would be, uh, interesting. I also can't see that escalating into a fight between them. Yes, Liara has changed since ME1, but would she really pick a fight with anyone who isn't harming Shepard? This isn't like the situation in the comics. Garrus isn't hurting her. Liara, as sad as she may be, has no reason to go psycho on him.



A sparring match sounds like a nightmare for the animators. Personally I don't particularly want one anyway, but I'm apparently in the minority.

Somehow, I don't think they'd actually start a real fight... It would probably just be an argument. xD It's still amusing to imagine the fight, but I wouldn't want them to act out of character.



My main Shepard would totally beat Garrus in a sparring match. She fights like a krogan in close combat. And they need to make biotics against the rules for that match, or she'd probably tilt the Normandy with her slam attack. Her clone would let him win though (I think the clone ended up being a little more Paragon than the original based on the few decisions that were changed, but just by a little).

Um, ok I know it was probably hyperbole for sake of argument but this thread doesn't *really* talk about turian genitals THAT much, and half of the references have been jokes poking fun at someone who complained about it in the first place.  It's the internet.  It's not always gonna be exactly what you want to see. 

In my opinion, this thread is actually pretty respectful of people's preferences in that 90% of the time the topic of turian naughty bits comes up it is just innuendo, I don't recall an explict 18+ pic ever being posted here, honestly not even a link, except to the magic folder, which if you downloaded it that was voluntary and you only have yourself to blame. This is an M rated game and most of us here are adults according to our impromptu poll recently. 

Even when adult topics are discussed it is always in a good-natured manner, not perverted or twisted, and hardly forced upon any one.  That is what the scroll button is for. If you don't like it you don't have to reply.  Start another topic.  If you are underage well welcome to the real world.  Again it's an M rated game and the forum has censors.  No one is forced to visit this thread against their will.  I don't think people should have to tiptoe around just because there MIGHT be a 15 year old on the internet OH NOES. Sex is a part of life.  There's nothing wrong with us discussing it from time to time.
