Oh I fibbed, there was one other thing I spoiled for myself. Immediately after getting Archangel, I went and got Mordin... and looked up online if bringing Garrus to the plague zone would kill him. I was like I AM NOT losing him just after I got him. Besides, it'd be insulting to lose him to a bug after he took a ROCKET TO THE FACE.

The only thing I knew about ME2 was Shepard KIA, wasn't even sure he/she was dead and the design of Thane, just his head. As of the rest, I was completely clueless. I avoided even the trailer, same for Dragon Age.

Hehe, I remember that.  I'm like "Woooooo playing ME2!  ... er... wait.  Did I just die?  IN THE FIRST 5 MINS?!  WTH?"

Hen night speculations are... interesting.

I wouldn't say seeing if Garrus would be taken by the plague or not was too much of a spoiler, but I'm not sure.

Hmm... I'd absolutely love to go through a game without spoiling it, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it for ME3. And yet I'd rather not confine myself away from the internet and this thread. What to do... what to do...

Hmm, I'm enjoying ME1, though I preferred 2, being honest. Can't wait to get back to 2 and romance Garrus.

Strangely, I knew absolutely nothing when I first started playing ME2. I just thought "Huh. He got killed. Huh.", I started going on a massive spoiling journey right after that, though.

I prefer the pacing of ME1. And running into people asking for missions instead of just looking for needles in a haystack with the scanning for anomalies.

I was so confused about the rumors of Shepard dying. I thought "but my Shepard survived ME1. Must have been renegade Shepard's canon..."

My reaction at first was "Great, the red on my N7 armour turned me into an expendable Star Trek redshirt." And then I remembered that guy from KotOR who dies after 5 min from joining the party. At least he got to kill as I remember.

My big jawdropping moment was when he started talking about reach and flexibility. HE'S A LI? REALLY? AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa! XD

Absolutely this!
I tell you, my jaw LITERALLY fell open...and then I practically broke my legs running into Life Support to dump Thane like a sack of dirty diapers. LOL

Edited to add:  I also remember wailing when the Normandy got destroyed...I cried "Nooo!"  I tell you I was upset when that happened. :o

The only thing I'll spoil for myself for ME3 is whether we get both sets of squadmates back. I don't have to have Wrex, as awesome as he is. Tuchanka needs its king, after all.

I did know about the dying and coming back, though.

I did the same thing when Shepard suggested the reach and flexibility thing.

I think I could do the same as Sialeter. Since they're Garrus is an LI, anyway, it's not as if I'm spoiling anything there in ME3, and I don't think this thread when ME3 comes out is going to deviate far from Garrus, so that works. Thanks for thinking about that, Sialeter. I can resist searching around for any further spoilers, at least, I hope I can.

I have no similar anecdotes about finding out Garrus was an LI. I was just pleased that you could romance a turian, and one like Garrus.

lol, you should've seen my face. I'm sure I looked silly. Something like this -> :o I was sooooooo not expecting that. After I put my jaw back, I started grinning like crazy. Boyfriend asked "What?", and I said, "Nothing. :D:D:D"

Ah, I drop off for a few days and we've broken 200 pages!

I did spoil myself for both Garrus's squaddie status and LI status (I knew he was in the game since that one trailer had the conversation you have when you meet him). ME2 was leaked online about a week before it was actually released, so I hounded that info (I had reasons, really! I needed to figure out who I was going to romance in order to decide which Shepard I should import!) until I found out he was romancable. I GLEE'D , then cut myself off from spoilers. Made waiting the extra few days torture, though.

That 'reveal' image from the folder is a reaction guys/gaijin 4koma meme.

e: Also, what salarians find attractive/similar about asari is probably either their flexibility (recall Mordin's comments about 'krogan sexual deviants' being interested in his salarian flexibility) or their chest. No pervy joke there, structure-wise breasts do look a bit like that strange arched chest salarians have.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one that grinned like a fool.

I'm pretty sure I left Garrus hanging after he told his reach and flexibility for a few minutes while I hopped up out of my chair and did a little dance.

As for spoilers...I tried not to but I came across the Shep dying one and I didn't quite understand it. So, when it happened at the beginning, I was surprised and the whole opening actually got me kind of choked up. I also caught a glimpse on the boards mentioning Garrus and also mentioning him as an LI. I guess I thought it was too good to be true and didn't really acknowledge it.

So, even though I already knew about it all, I still had this sense of surprise and utter euphoria when I reached Archangel and when Garrus told me of his...exploits.

Man now I'm jealous of all your experiences of surprise. Maybe I can get some major head trauma and play it again after severe memory loss.

Yep, a good turian headbutt should do the trick! If not, we could get you a krogan headbutt, but that's got a 62% chance of giving you a permanent frontal lobotomy.

Long time no post, and I'm not even going to try to read the multiple dozen pages that have popped up since the last time I was here.  I just wanted to bump the thread and reaffirm my support for Garrus as LI in ME3.  That's all.

I had Archangel's identity spoiled for me, though at the time I didn't really care because I'd never played ME1 and I had no idea who this "Garrus" character was. Then a friend linked me to Aimo's Aliens in Love 2 comic, and I said "... hmm, suddenly I want to try this game." So I did, loved Garrus at first sight (a hotheaded idealistic cop, popping up with advice like "Remember to stay hydrated"? How could I not!), tore through the rest of the game after realizing that he wasn't an LI, and recruited him first in 2. Even though I knew it was him, it was still a serious relief finding someone familiar after the disheartening beginning of the game. Well done, BW.

I didn't know what to make of the whole LI thing. I'd played ME1 so many times, I'm surprised the disk works. I thought for sure Jacob would be the one to lure my Shep away from Kaidan... the turian snuck up on me.

And talking to Jacob made me want to slap my femshep.

It was just so hard to stay away from the forums for those many months...at times I was jealous because I really like these types of forums, and felt disconnected. But now, I feel like it was worth it...I just hope I have the strength to do it again in the interval between ME2 and ME3!

Lol, yes, this.  Archangel = Garrus was not a shock for me, but the LI thing sure was.  I posted a while back about how a game has never made me cry; well they also rarely move me to exlaim out loud, but I definitely yelled 'REALLY?!?!?' when "we could relieve stress" came up on the convo wheel.  I think I had the same smirk on my face as Shep when she walks out the door backwards at the end of the convo.

Actually I spent a large chunk of ME2 grinning, and not just with Garrus scenes either.  The whole game has so many hilarious lines and situations. and sweet ones too.  but mostly funny ones.
