Is there really a problem with Garrus' amount of dialogue? Hmm, actually...can you start the romance right after the loyalty mission (as in kill Sidonis and then immediately go onto the Normandy and talk to him) or do you need to do another mission for another conversation? Anyway, only two of the romance interests have post-sucide mission dialogue if I recall.silentstephi wrote...

Yes, garrus has probably the least amount of lines in the game.

Clearly, I am just easily swayed by the shiny earings Zevran offers as a sign of his affection. What does Thane do? Give me a nickname and hold my hands? PAH!Collider wrote...
Zevran was an amoral scoundrel. At least Thane is more of a gentleman. Zevran just tried to kill you and tells you about how he's had sex with people and killed them immediately after and could kill you during sex at any time but yea he's flirting with you and wants you to come to bedaznsoisauce wrote...
@Hyrule_Gal - Ha! That's perfect XD
But...if Thane didn't have that baggage, he'd have to be really interesting for me to want to Romance him. For me, he isn't even a useful squadmate.
Meh. Bioware did it right when it came to romancing an assasin...Zevran. He also had baggage but he wasn't tragic. That and his "Pirate Zevran reporting for duty! Prepare to be boarded!" line was PRO.
...wat

Aaaand that was the exact moment I was like 'nope, can't even romance Thane on a secondary playthrough'. That and 'I use my perfect memory to ****** to my dead wife'. JESUS CHRIST, THANEHyrule_Gal wrote...
Do you guys think you would have liked Thane more if Bioware didn't try so hard to, I don't know...make his romance so freakin DIRE?

Thane: I also have issues with my son
Me: You have a kid too huh? *eyes dart to the door*

Thane: Yes, its a name of a Goddess

Thane: I called my DEAD WIFE that

... Wow, I never thought about that line that way before.
It's like the advice says, start a new game to romance someone else, end up romancing Garrus anyway.

To be fair, none of the romances in ME1 and ME2 ever give you anything IIRC. Could be wrong as I haven't done most of them, but it seems to be the case. What does Thane do? Give me a nickname and hold my hands? PAH!

Ok. Not the best example...but, Duncan's Beard, I want a shirt of it.

Not sure about Joker. He has more segments of dialogue, but they aren't very long. I agree with you on Mordin though, it's fun talking with him.Ray Joel Oh wrote...
They all suffer from a lack of dialogue on the ship, imho. Mordin and Joker have the best amount, though.

No, but I really like that he actually responds to what you just did. "Hey about the people you went out with last..." or "That was a dumb thing you did back there." Thank you for your input, Joker! You are a valued member of the team.
Edit: Shrieks at picture.

Garrus has three conversations, four if you romanced him (five if you count the loop as a conversation). He has very little ship dialog, but it feels like he has a ton of lines on missions, probably because they're usually funny/full of character (everyone else on Collector ship: "This place is crazy./Holy ****, Collectors" Garrus on Collector ship: "I love what they've done with the place."). I think he's also the only person to have a conversation with Shepard, just randomly walking--on Mordin's LM, the hospital/best places to fight dialog. I haven't taken everyone there, of course, so I'm not sure, but I know Miranda just makes an observation that it's a hospital.Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...

e: And yeah, only Tali and Jacob have post-game romance dialog. BIOWAAAAARREEEEEEE
Regarding gifts: Garrus gives you AP Ammo. Thane gives you the entirely useless Shredder Ammo. Jacob gives you the inferior Barrier. The choice is obvious.

It's best to keep some of the details about Shepard left to the reader a lot of the time. That would indeed include the first name as well as Shepard's appearance (besides stuff like the Lazarus scars and other general stuff).Ray Joel Oh wrote...
Ugh. Reading a story right now. It's so annoying when they call Shepard by her first name. I don't want to hear about YOUR Shepard I want to read about MY Shepard, GAWD.

Agreed. Selfish fanfic writers not letting me insert my own avatar in their fics. B!tches.

I was particularly amused by one fanfic I read where Shepard admitted to not actually having a first name.

Getting around the first-name issue requires some serious hoop-jumping if you're writing a romance fic, since it stands to reason that two people knocking boots would be on a first-name basis. Thane has a workaround with 'siha', but it's a pain with everyone else. I don't like to use Jane/John, though, it's just so bland.Collider wrote...

My friend gave his Shepard the first name of 'Commander' to get around this problem. Now everyone's his best friend!
