Guys, if garrus wasn't social how the hell was he able to single handly recruit 12 people for his gang on omega?
Results.
However, I think he's superficially outgoing. Just not letting anyone in but Shepard of either gender (and maybe Tali). He can't be a total anti-social or he wouldn't be a Fire Team Leader.

Plus I think you guys are misunderstanding me a little. When I said he isn't sociable I mean I just don't see him as the type who makes friends easily or often. Acquaintances or buddies, sure, but not friends. He even admits that Shepard is his only friend left in the galaxy. He may have disappeared for a couple of years, but if he had any truly strong friendships back in C-Sec or whatever then I don't think he'd be willing to dismiss them so easily.
But of course I don't think he's a complete anti-social shut-in either. He obviously knows how to socialize, but I wouldn't call him a social "butterfly".
I also find it odd that he never mentions his family. You'd think he would want to let them know he was alive and well. I suppose it's possible that he did and we just weren't informed.

Feron had better be alive. BioWare needs to stop messing with our maliens. Diseases, gunships, ambiguous fates... I mean, c'mon.
(Yeah yeah Tali and Liara have their rough spots, but maliens.)
Heeey there's an Icca in teh Garrus thread
Garrus getting 12 peple together to form his squad isn't really dependant on his social butterfly-ness though. He got his team just like Shepard got hers: through action. I don't find Garrus much of an introvert, but I don't think he'd clam up just because he wants to be alone (/razafrackin' calibrations GAH.)
There's also the hint that not only did he get to know his team well, but so did his team get to know him. Hell, the mail you get from one the wife of a squad mate has to indicate some sort of social connection. Not sure what, but it's there.

I always thought Garrus was cool, but in Mass Effect 2 I got even more respect for him when I found out there was a Turian sniper called Archangel who took out many mercs and a ship, there HAD to be only one man who could fit the role. A great character who NEEDS to be in ME3 as a squad member.
Hear hear!
But back to the subject, I can expect that he wouldn't let many people close, even moreso after getting betrayed, but he's still generally pretty charismatic. Which is why it's that much more adorable when he gets flustered by Shepard.

Feron shows up in ME3 with facial scars and a fatal disease.
I also like to think that he and Liara became romantically involved, even just a little, but there's only one issue of the comics left and if it hasn't happened by now it won't ever. Then again, Liara does call him a "good friend" but tbh they don't seem like friends at this point either.
And I know if there were any romantic feelings between Liara and Feron, the Liara fans would rage. Rightfully so.

We need more conversations with garrus about his life in general. More talking and less calibrating!
Yes his personal life is a mystery. The only things we know is that he grew up on Palaven, doesn't get along with his father and had sex with a female Turian who fought with him. That's about it. Sometimes I wonder if he had a mother since he only mentions his father when he talks about C-Sec.

Or even more in-depth thoughts about his feelings on the present. Cerberus, the Reapers, the council, turian culture in general, Shepard (not necessarily romantically), Shepard's death, more stories from Omega, blah blah.

They'd rage pretty hard. Wouldn't be very tasteful of Bioware to do that, IMO.
No it wouldn't, I agree.
Though I do hope you can hook up Tali and Kal'Reegar in ME3 (or push them in that direction at least) if you're a FemShep or a male Shepard that didn't romance Tali.

I'm not a huge fan of him, but I do like him and I love Tali and I think they'd be cute together. That's it, really.

I don't really understand the reasoning. It is just because they're the most prominent quarians? I didn't see really see any chemistry there.MarginalBeast wrote...

You didn't, but I did. Reegar obviously really respects Tali, and I even thought I saw a hint of some deeper feelings too. However, not much indicates that Tali feels anything romantic towards him.

It's like Pam trying to set Oscar up in The Office. "I mean sure, they're the only two gay guys I know, but they were meant to be together."

Either way, Tali does not seem to be receptive or interested
whatsoever. Kal treats Tali like the admiral's daughter, which she
doesn't like (even says it's hard being the admiral's daughter in ME1) Whereas Shepard treats Tali like Tali, like an equal, he
treats her well as friends rather than professional obligation (Kal
being a soldier hired to protect her). I've also seen several people in the military say that Kal is just being professional rather than crushing. Just to put it into context, Kal x Tali feels like Jack x Garrus to me.
