You know, thinking about Garrus's fame...anyone else see that movie ad on the Citadel (extra comedy: the turian who plays Saren is the same one who invites you to the Dark Star for 'companionship')? I bet there's a Normandy movie night where everyone watches it and sasses the ME1 veterans about it. "He doesn't even look like me!"

One of my Shepards would have been so happy. xD "Saren's back from the dead just like me and he wants companionship! *stares at the turian on screen* And apparently, he had facial reconstruction options too." Imagine her disappointment when she goes to Dark Star and that turian isn't there. Shepard can't 'relieve stress' with a turian in the bar, but she can get drunk and pass out on the floor of the men's room?

I thought the same thing when I saw the movie ad. "Who's that one supposed to be? ...Okay, I figured it out. They don't look enough like the characters."

Well, even the Grey Warden doesn't have complete freedom. My city elf was pretty upset when his fiance told him that he couldn't hook up with her after he defeated the darkspawn. xD

What turian are you guys talking about? Saren's voice? Dark Star? I'm a little lost.

One of the ads on the Citadel - I don't remember which floor it's on, might be the same one as Dark Star, but it's the big cylinder-shaped one with pictures. If you click on it enough, it gives an ad for Dark Star (females get a turian on the ad and males get an asari). Apparently, the turian has Saren's voice. :)

Ok, for some reason I always get the same ads. Maybe I'm not patient enough to listen to them all, but come on! That's what made the tupari vending machine so hilarious: it plays the ads in the same order, so you can skip or replay them. Listening to a joke for seven times in a row tends to get... irritating.

Explaining my attraction to Turians to a friend of mine was interesting. I eventually just said, "tall, broad-shouldered, well-muscled men with gorgeous eyes. What's not to love?" And then when that Turian is Garrus, I just shout, "Because he's Garrus! You need no more information!"

There's a good chance that the ads play in the same order... I only listened to them twice in a row, but I think the order seemed familiar that second time around. I didn't listen to them all at first either, until I heard about the turian Dark Star ad from this thread. xD

The Mythbuster's just talked about a rig being perfectly calibrated. My first thought was,"I didn't know Garrus was a mythbuster."

They hired Garrus because he's always calibrating something.

I showed a friend of mine a drawing I did of Shepard's cabin. I drew Garrus sitting on the bed, reading a book. I showed it to her very quickly, but to my surprise she accurately recognized him as "an alien" anyway.

Well, actually she said "The drawing is cool and all that, but you should have drawn a stud instead of an alien!" My response? "What do you mean, he's not a stud?" xD I didn't go into further detail, though.

I'll never be able to talk to others for my love of Garrus without being thought that I have issues. *sigh*

Bloody hell. A video with all of Garrus's romance scenes has subtitles available I haven't even seen the rest of it, and it's already crazy.

"I want to thank you again for your health facilities"
"Actually she and I were talking to him specialists on the ship"

Edit: Oh dear lord I thought they wouldn't affect the ending. How wrong was I.

I was always under the impression that he was never very good at making friends (or at least not good at keeping lasting friendships) or being sociable in general. Which is why I'm always puzzled when fanfiction writers portray him as a ladies man.

To be fair, Garrus did have that casual encounter with the female turian and Garrus did say he gets hit on all the time (if you're male and choose the paragon option when Garrus asks how he looks with his scars, Shepard says "Don't worry, you were always ugly Garrus, and then Garrus says that at least now Shepard has a chance getting women). Not saying whether he's a ladies man or not, but those are just some things I remember. I don't see him as a social butterfly either.

I agree the getting hit on comment (AND the krogan women one) was probably more of a joke than aything else

....but I think the ladies' man impression just comes from the fact that he's both witty and confident.  Which people typically associate with attractive, popular people.  But being witty and confident does not necessarily translate to being a social butterfly, it's true.  I tend to think it's more that, for the women who actually get to know him, they very often find him attractive.  But at the same time I don't really see him going out to the bars and picking up a different lady every night.

Generally I agree with the posters that Garrus is, or can, be sociable, when he wants.  He's got personality.  I think he just tends to self-isolate under times of stress or worry, as would a lot of people.

Exactly, and freakish World Record turians with gross, yellowing fringes growing down to their back.

this whole sub-conversation line is making me LOL and  at the same time.  Also I just can't hold in the giggles when I imagine a turian splaying out his fringe like a turkey tail.

I also love how Garrus can't seem to get Shepard's name right. Jill, Chevron, etc.

Yours was "What happened in Las Vegas"? I got "What happened in Los Angeles"

I was looking for Garrus related youtube captioning failures for the thread. I guess I got a pretty good one.

Hmm... I love these.

Oh yeah sorry, I meant Los Angeles.

That one is great too. "Some women find patients cards attractive. Only do most of those women are crooks." Pffff this is hilarious XD. I totally dig Garrus's patient card.

...I did not ever think of that, yet it seems so obvious. Bloody hell. You're amazing.

All I was thinking was "Aw, that looks cute,"

...Well, I've been looking for more Garrus related captioning failures. His recruitment dialogue came up. They affected the ending to this one, too.

Wow. The transcriber just got progressively worse and worse as the video went on.

Shepard: since when did you start calling yourself working
Garrus: this is a man who was gay; oh my goodness he needs; I don't mind but states sheets and Justice
Shepard: he'll be giving up with plans by the way
Garrus: because of ground so on and on; didn't want the rumors suspicious
Shepard: uh huh
Garrus: if I wanted to do more than take issue with that; Don; the size of taking sweet time the TV movie

Later, when Garrus says "Glad to see you haven't changed." it transcribes it as "good to see you have changed."

...WTF.

Edit: nvm, giving this comment its own post <_<
