regardless of who you pick to romance in mass effect..
Is Shephard able to have kids after the reconstruction?
I know he/she is made to be the same as he/she was, but thats a lot of... 'stuff' in there now. Maybe Male Shep can but the fem shep outcome looks bad.

You can turn down all of the romances before going through the Omega-4 Relay, but in the final scene there some of the romances have a 'rejection' option which is not in fact a rejection, but a 'not in a sex mood, we'll do this later'. These are Jacob, Miranda, and Thane. If you try to turn down Jack, Tali, or Garrus, it's a breakup. I compiled most of the rejection vids in an earlier post, it's interesting that Garrus is in the more 'emotionally fragile' group.janeym27 wrote...
This is making me sad just thinking about it.
Also, thanks @enormousmoonboots. It's good to know. I've wondered, but I didn't want to derail any of my relationships yet because I heard it was possible to get one of the LIs to a point where you couldn't turn them down. Or I was playing a 'No LI' game.
Well, I guess you are pretty much all he has left to lose at that point. Jacob and Miranda are all about the sex, and Thane is a, dying and b, has the memory of his dead wife to keep him warm at night.
Thanks for the compliing, but I try to avoid the youtube vids of scenes I haven't scene (excepting the many ways for peeps to die. One ailrun is enough, thankyou! lol) and sad Garrus would make me sad.
Thanks for the info, though. You are truely wise.

When/where does Garrus say that about it's being a mess?
Having had the above experience, I never rejected him again.
(Off-topic:
Thane does say that he will wait if you change your mind but then never
talks again afterwards, just says he is thinking or meditating on what
was said before. ME3 or a loose end?}
I've heard (I'm all about the ME rumors, me.) that you can actually keep multiple LIs hangin on past the Omega 4 relay. You sex one before the suicide mission, then afterwards you break up with them (you know, stupid looped convo options), then you finish the romance with another, call them up, wham, bam, thankyou mam, then break up with them and repeat... until you are all alone, bt well satisfied.
However, as I've said, fear of losing the relationships I was persuing has prevented me from testing out this theory myself.

That 'friend' option nearly had me for a minute...then I was like 'wait a minute, the OTHER one is the relationship-positive option. Bioware, you trolling me?'Aricle wrote...
I was romancing Thane and Garrus for a bit and Thane did say something about there being others on the ship watching you who need to know where they stand... Garrus did not make any challenge, he just kept saying that he was thinking about them being crazy for even thinking about blowing off steam and then the option appears in the Paragon dialogue spot to say "let's be friends". I did not think that would be so heartbreaking when I chose that option, I just thought it meant a question and reassurance/discussion not Rejection! :(Never again.

I don't recall the exact line, but Garrus's line if you're trying to romance two people is something about not wanting to cause a mess/rock the boat/step on any toes, pick your idiom. Thane's and Jacob's were a little more memorable since they were so weird (cuttlebone...? Jacob confirmed for parakeet owner).
There's no more chatting with any romaceable characters after you friendzone them (or hit the end of their non-romance conversations, if you're the wrong gender).

Testes are pretty much sperm factories, but women are born with all the eggs they'll ever have. I don't doubt Mass Effect science has some crazy thing where you can combine two people's DNA independent of sperm/ovums, but Femshep's not getting pregnant without some serious medical intervention--and not getting pregnant at all via Garrus.MidnightSG wrote...

Surrogate genetic material is entirely possible, but I can't see Shepard being that enthusiastic about kids. Maybe adoption, if some screwed-up kid with nowhere else to go was dropped into her lap.

The first playthrough, I got the scene after Archangel's recruitment where Kelly commented on him and said that "you'd make a cute couple" when I said I felt like hugging him too. That surprised me. I did not
agree/respond to it; after the romance developed with Garrus, I wish that I had. I did not get that dialogue line with her again on 2nd playthrough, no matter which dialogue tree I followed. Anyone else get different responses from her to saying you feel like hugging Garrus, or did you always get the "cute couple" response? Any idea on what
determines your getting that response? I re-loaded and did the same responses as before but no luck. Is it order of recruitment missions (Garrus before Mordin)?? That seems like an odd factor but I don't know
how to get that dialogue again.

Argh, I have never gotten far enough with Kelly to make her feed my fish!! Do you have to not be romancing anyone? I was so nice and flirty with her last playthrough, and nothin'.
Get to the point via some flirting where you can invite her to have dinner with you, which does not mean romance or sex; the next day, she comments on your fish and offers to feed them.
One way I got to the dinner invitation was by asking if she was happy with Cerberus, where she talks about being thrilled to be on the mission and working with you. I also had the option when she talks about Samara being pretty post-recruitment, I said she was prettier, she says she wants to get to know you better... dinner invitation op.
And, you still get the Garrus lovin'. <3

Kelly didn't call Garrus and my Shepard a cute couple either, but I think that's because my Shepard was completely professional, didn't even have friendly coversation with her (wasn't about to risk accidentally getting involved after seeing how Shepard talks to Jacob), and would only talk to her to ask, "Is there anything I should know?"
...Am I the only one who tries not to pay attention to the places of dialogue options (Paragon/Renegade) and just choose the one that I think fits the character best? xD

Kim Shepard No! And that's the problem. Thane, it's just a "not now, but later." And he's quite calm and in agreement with you. With Jacob, he gives you more chances to take him up on his offer, and on the last one tries the "I love you" thing. Man just really wants in your pants. In the end he's all "Fine, whatever, tease." Only Garrus is emotionally let down if you reject him, and rightly so, the way you turn him down.

After the tone of talking to Garrus with his wondering if they were crazy to think about blowing off steam, I thought saying "let's be friends" would be along the lines of how important it was to remain friends as well as potential lovers... not heartbreak, which seems Renegade in ME1 style. I think about what I want to say but also about what the R or P placement suggests about what might actually be said.
I also thought the "Let's be friends," given it's placement, would be more of a reassurance that your friendship wasn't going anywhere, no matter what happened between you. Boy was I wrong.

Yeah, you have to be really nice and "like minded" when you talk to Kelly to get her cute couple comment.

I did agree with her about Garrus and worrying about him but it was still different each time with the 'cute couple' remark. Someday... It probably doesn't affect the G
The descriptions I have heard of rejecting after the "let's be friends" point sound heart-rending and that one was bad enough. Garrus forever.

Thane: I'm scared to die. Hold me.
Shepard: I love you. Let's make this something to live through the mission for.
Thane: Smashing idea. I will go dwell on memories of siha v1.0.
Jacob: Priiiiiiize.
Shepard: Grrr, no.
Jacob:......really? All of that labrynthian convo to romance me, and no?
Shepard: GTFO.
Jacob: I love you.
Shepard: Not gonna happen.
Jacob: Fine. I'll be complaining to Miranda about you if you need me.
Garrus: Hey, uh, I'm here if you still wanna-
Shepard: Hey, is that your heart? Can I see that?
Garrus: Sure, but I don't see what that-
Shepard: *STOMPSTOMPSTOMPSTOMP*
Garrus:.................................Yeah, I guess it wouldn't have worked out....I'll go.

I didn't have any problems understanding it, since I really don't pay much attention to placement, I just pick what I think suits my Shepard best at the time (though I'll admit they can definitely be misleading). I saw the "I want to be your friend" prompt and assumed it meant that she didn't want anything deeper than friendship from him (and it just so happened that I was right). Whereas "I feel the same way" is basically a confirmation that she DOES share his romantic feelings. To me, that scene is very important to the romance since it's basically a subtle confession from Garrus, and Shepard can either choose to reciprocate his feelings or cut the relationship off before it becomes deeper than she intended.
Annnnd then of course later she can change her mind at the last minute but who would want to do that? D:
BTW I've never been able to get the "cute couple" line. Sad.

To whoever mentioned wanting to romance Kelly: I believe you have to ask her "You're into aliens?" when she makes a comment about Garrus, Tali, or Thane after you recruit them. Not for all three of them, but at least once. If you don't do that you won't be able to romance her (or so I've heard).Aricle wrote...
