I don't like the double microphones. It is the only thing I don't like. To make them tolerable, I imagine them as beer straws. He insists they are comm mics, but he's really just looking to party hard. It would explain his occasional terrible AI on the battlefield. No, Garrus, that is NOT an ideal place to cover as a sniper.

Double microphones: one for his voice, the other one to add the flanging effect.

I agree with you, orz it is. He always takes cover almost directly in front of the enemies so that Krogans, Geth destroyers and the like can close in on him in no time.Then I have to bolt to the rescue, scolding him loudly. I hope my dormmates don't hear me through the walls ... ^^;

Love the pic of Garrus working on the mako. Reminded me of some ME1 dialogue whiich I think I only heard once (or maybe I made it up... why is there no ME wikiquote!) When faced with the Thorian he says something like 'This was not in any of my manuals.' I know he meant training manuals, but in my head I'm going "There is more to life than fixing the damn Mako!"

Garrus seemed alot more open to you in mass effect 2, especially when he started talking about his sex life a little bit. I was disappointed when he had pretty much only 3 or 4 conversations to you when your a male shepard.

Yeah, as a male Shepard (which I haven't yet played in ME2), I can't see why he wouldn't just continue to open up to you if he's already been describing a former conquest to you.  If you feel you know someone well enough to describe *that*, it seems you should be able to talk about a bunch of other topics, only they weren't available.

Garrus and Shep are two of a kind - Shep doesn't open up easily to other people, and neither does Gar. The sex life thing is about as deep as we get with him on the feelings level until just before the sex. The rest of the time he is awkward about the upcoming coitus, and stressing about where he stands with Shepard. I like to think he shares more with her because of the lover aspect of that relationship. He does't even give either Shep much feedback on the Sidonus thing. Bro-closeness and Love-closeness, while not better or worse than the other, involve very different ways of communicating. Shep only really opens up to her/his LI properly, of everyone in the game, so it seems natural that Gar does too.

Although some more Bro-convos between them would have been great.

As I've said, I don't think Garrus needs a beer helmet if he wants to enjoy his drink in the middle of battle, he can just pop a can himself. I do think Shepard desperately would need one, even for general city-exploring. She pours drinks into her eye.

I haven't actually seen any pictures or screenshots of the smiley face on the back of Garrus, though I did once see a comic about it.

I guess I'm not against the orange visor, but I did prefer the look of the blue. I guess I'll switch backwards and forwards and see which one I preferred.

Kaidan is a true Payne. Hohoho.

I don't actually follow Garrus's movements very much, but he does die the most out of my general squad, I think. Only time I saw him die was when he was being overwhelmed with Husks, but I don't think you can really help that.

He does move forwards quite a bit, when I'm supposed to be staying behind with my sniper rifle, so instead of targetting the me, they go for him... I think I see him getting overwhelmed by mercs, sometimes, actually, too.

He's never gotten in my way, though, except for the Husks attack. I haven't got him to use a sniper rifle very much, actually. Speaking of which, I actually dislike how the sniper-rifle's slowdown time messes up his voice, but there isn't much you can do about that, I guess.

To be honest, I do end up positioning myself away from the rest of the group. I sometimes accidently push Garrus out of his cover, too. Well, I think I'd need more gameplay to make real judgements, then.

Though, worst AI moment, which has happened twice in a row, was on the Alarei when Tali decided to, instead of holding the position above the stairs, try to go down the stairs and face the legions of geth head-on. Needless to say she realised it wasn't a good idea. At least Garrus stayed behind.


Has anybody attempted to zoom in on Garrus, only to get him crouching down? I generally manage to avoid it by quickly pressing the zoom and bringing up the ability dial in quick succession

I loved to take Garrus and Tali planetside for the Mako missions in ME1. Tali could fix the Mako faster than anyone, and between her relentless shotgun blasts and his sniper rifle, the geth were pretty easy prey. Not to mention that whenever we all fought synthetics, it looked like a freakin' fireworks display was going off with all the overload and such...sometimes the flashes were so blinding I couldn't see for a second. Awesome LOL

Yes Garrus tends to get swarmed by husks  Miranda manages to stay alive somehow but Garrus always bites the dust when I'm up against husks. Well I'll just assume he desperately wants to protect my Shepard
