Oh, and now that it's been mentioned - I do feel like some flags went up for me while I was doing the Firewalker missions concerning Garrus' voice. So it wasn't Keener?

Hold on, now I'm confused. Do any of the squadmates have lines in the Hammerhead missions (Garrus included)? Are we wondering whether there are some Garrus lines that were done by someone else or are we debating whether a completely different character was voiced by Keener?

Just kidding! XD

But seriously. The more negative I am about it, the more euphoric I will be when ME3 ends with Shepard and Garrus enjoying ramen on the Citadel together a la Lady and the Tramp style. Wait...since I'm conscious of these optimistic expectations...it's not going to work, is it? FFFFfffffuu--

It sounded like Keener to me.

And axynozouwaskhfa (I can't remember the name but I know it starts with an A and I'm too lazy to hit back button...)

Totally. Not. Cool.

Because that's just soooo mean. Like. Really mean. Mean enough to make my brain go dead, because it's already been mashed to a pulp from this headache.

To catch up - Ok, the armor smiley? Has me dying. I love it. I love Garrus's new armor. I like the comm, because it makes the bandage actually look more like some sort of cybernetic implants, instead of just a giant band aide. And now that the front of the armor is fixed... it makes a great handle. >.>

I took Garrus and Zaeed and they both spoke during the first Firewalker mission. It was just generic lines though...like "Look at that" or "That should be it."

I (and Cerydd, too?) was wondering if Brandon Keener was the voice for the Hammerhead computer.

If this was the case, I jokingly implied that it was the last Mass Effect voice over job Bioware had for Keener...and that Garrus wouldn't be in ME3. Something NOBODY wants.

I think Garrus isn't too bothered by Cerberus on the whole. He just dislikes Miranda (who has her good points and bad points, but Garrus isn't a patient enough person to care about any good points). He's much more of an 'ends justify the means' person, though even he disagrees with their general insanity ("Gosh, I wonder what'll happen if we inject acid into this human's bloodstream? ...it's almost like it's hurting him!"). I think he agrees with their supposed ideal, what TIM tries to sell them as, but recognizes that that's not what they are in execution and doesn't trust them. But he's much less upset about working with Cerberus than Tali is. Basically, "You giving me new guns? Sweet. You want me to do your dirty work? Oh, that's a funny one."

Flammie--no knock on you, but it never ceases to amuse me that you can consistently ballpark a person's age depending on what they call this person.

Now that you said this I see how my post may have given that impression. Sorry! I was responding to the discussion started with the following post from the previous page (about Keener voicing Hammerhead VI)... and there isn't much additional dialogue to speak of for Firewalker missions. I think it's all regurgitated ;)

Gerse1 wrote...

Back after a hellatious (sp? lol) week!
And what better now than to relax with a little Garrus lovin'.

So,
playing through the firewalker missions (finally!) and -- I think this
was asked once before, did we ever get any info? -- does anyone else
think the Firewalker VI sounds like Brandon Keener?

Also
just talked to Garrus post-Archangel mission for my insanity run (also a
stay true to Kaiden run, incidentally...it's very difficult...I think I
will renegade Garrus this time too...I keep forgetting I'm not supposed
to be paragoning and romancing him [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png[/smilie]) and
for some reason this is the first time I noticed he said one of his
Omega team was a former STG.  You'd think he and Mordin would be
interested in talking about such things...???[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

Third,
in that same convo he says something like "why didn't we join up with
Cerberus even sooner" (regarding the new pimped out Normandy), and also
says they are treating him decently.  Yet we've seen the videos posted
in this thread of him "EMPHATICALLY POINTING" at Miranda and saying he
doesn't trust a Cerberus fireteam leader (that is if Jack is dead).
Even if Jack is alive, he shakes his head in agreement with her.
Soooooooo.....thoughts? theories? He liked Cerberus first/was blinded by
the shiny Normandy/wanted to trust Shepard's judgment but after seeing
how they screwed with her and everyone else, changed his mind?

More in the album. I <3 screenshots a little too much.  I think I spend more time setting up scenes in Fallout 3 than actually playing.

So pretty. I can't wait until I get a PC et up so I can play ME1 on it and get pretty caps like that. I already have ME2 and have started playing it on a borrowed computer b/c I can't wait (I've played both games extensively on Xbox 360). I'll hold off on picking up ME1 for PC until my own rig is ready.

What do you use for caps ELE08?

Thanks.  I use FRAPS.  It's free and does the trick.

Oh dear.  I guess Shepard does need something to grapple onto.  It doesn't really come across in the game to me, but turians are supposed to be like, pretty tall.  The wiki says they average over 6 feet.

It wasn't me. /Shaggy

It was Gerse1 ;). I still have to see (uhh.. hear) for myself, but it's 3 AM now and I want to go to bed to get a massage from my boyfriend (too much information). However, since two of you thought it sounded like Keener, it might be true. I mean, we're becoming Keener experts here.

If turians are over/around 6 feet, would you say that puts FemShep at around 5'8? Not 'cause that's my height or anything.... :P A bit tall for a human female, anyway. Or maybe we're just taller in the future.

Psshh. You know, as horrible and awful as Garrus not being in ME3 would be (though not to mention "moronic" and "screwed-up"), the only ME thing that has made me (almost) cry so far was not saving that one dying salarian in the Dantius towers. Just last night. My a-hole Renegade. I hate her now, and feel a little broken inside. How do you do this to us, BW?! She doesn't deserve Garrus. Solves that issue.

I would guess, several hours late, that Garrus is over 30. Because turian military service starts at 15 and goes for 15 years, and C-Sec counts as military service. Unless it's not as compulsory as they make it seem, I would think that meant that Garrus couldn't have voluntarily/honorably left C-Sec until his time was up. Yes, I think about this a little too much. *sigh*

I also agree that maybe Garrus just straight-up doesn't like or trust Miranda. Which is fun, because my Paragon Shepard -really- doesn't like Cerberus. Sole Survivor and all of that.

Femshep is pretty tall. She's around the same height as most other characters (Mordin is also taller than both M and F Shep). Humans have been getting taller on average thanks to better nutrition and diet in general (if you've ever been to the Mayflowers, it's like a ship for ants).

I don't think military service is as compulsory as it seems; 15 years straight of army life is pretty crazy, even for a heavily disciplined culture. It would also mean all civilian jobs in turian society are possessed by older people, which doesn't seem logical. I think it's more like 1-5 years (don't you only need 2 years to get citizenship? No time to check the wiki right now), lifers stay for 15+.

I'm going to say that this is relevant to the thread because I'm about to copy and paste some directions from our first page. (No sourness intended in that sentence...I just read it, and it seems that way.)

(Sorry for off topic, but I need to make sure my Garrus caps are of the highest quality!) - So the free version of Fraps only puts the watermark on videocaps and not stills then, or did you crop it out? I was thinking of getting the paid version just because it looks to be the better of programs out there, and I like messing with video too.

lol awwwwwwwwwwwww D: the two lights on the side look like the frownie is throwing his arms up in the air!

As for Hammerhead VI (sorry I kept calling it Firewalker... you know what I meant) it's not with every line, it's only some of them. I also brought Garrus for some missions, not others, the voice was there both times so I don't think it was his dialogue. Plus, the voice I kept subconsciously thinking was Garrus didn't have the turian flange. It would pop up and I'd think "wait, I didn't take Garrus on this mission..."

Keener IS a voice *actor*, he can probably do different voices to suit. I mean have y'all ever heard Jennifer Hale's non-Shep voice? I wouldn't have recognized it. But Keener still sounds a lot like Garrus in the budlight commercial and others =).

Annnnyway, it probably isn't him, but hey all you optimists I did think right after submitting my last post that him being in the studio could also mean he recorded MOAR GARRUS for later =D but, not getting my hopes up. =\\.

Jennifer Hale is teh awesome. She's been in so many games and cartoons...I was impressed by the length of the listing on imdb.com. I've been a fan for quite a while.

Now maybe if I was a man, I would find her voice as sexy as Garrus's (Keener's); I have no way of being sure.

But all I know is, when a game character's (Garrus's) voice is sexy enough to get mentioned as such in several pieces of fan fiction, he has to know he has something going on, there ;)

Well I'm sure he'll be there. They've pretty much said so. Now whether he'll be a squadmate or just a lame-ass Ashley/Kaiden-Liara-type cameo remains to be seen.

And Jennifer Hale's voice is totally sexy.

This is Garrus related right?  We're discussing how to capture his likeness for posterity--or something.  To answer your question, no watermarks on the screencaps for the free version but the output is limited to BMP format.  I use photoshop to covert to JPGs.  No idea on video.
