(ahem..talons...which incidentally I would also love to see him bust out on an enemy).
I wonder, though, how that would be regarded in turian society...I thought of Wookiee culture, from KOTOR where one would be considered a "madclaw" if he just attacked people and started biting and clawing them...they had a particular code of behavior in combat. Would Garrus be acting dishonorably in the eyes of his people if he attacked someone with his talons? Turian society is highly regimented; it's possible, I think.
Of course, having said that, I would pay money to see such an attack...just put that and the Harkin headbutt on a continuous loop, and there's entertainment for ya.

Why do you need a blade with this kind of claws?

Um... 'cos gunblades are awesome!
There are references to Turien bladed weaponry. It would add to his badassery no end. Also, who wants to get blood and bile all over their nice clean claws? And just think of the mess left on the console after all those callibrations.

I can't remember which fanfic it was right now, so I can't find the quote, but one of them had Garrus thinking to himself something like, "Shepard probably got tired of all his calibrations and left to find someone else. 'Calibrations'--smooth, Garrus. Real smooth." LOL

Garrus: "For either of us." *BLAM!*
See?! There's so much he straight-up doesn't talk about. My Paragon Shep can help you with those bad dreams, Garrus, you just never told her about them. *Sigh* More fanfic time....

It's on a rather large HDTV that's slightly angled such that whoever walks to the left of it looks like they're in Garrus's sights. Friend even did a double-take and asked me why Garrus was trying to kill him.

I have a question about the lack of conversations with Garrus. No one else had only 3 normandy convos sans the romance, everyone else had around 5. Surely Bioware knew this??? It puzzles me because;
1. Garrus is very popular with fans so it makes no sense on their part to only restrict his dialouge
2. There was a structure with all the other crew members ( typically went 2 convos , mission convo, post-mission convo, last convo) yet garrus didn't have this structure, why?
3. Bioware couldn't have NOT known he didn't have as much to say
So what is their reasoning for it?? Do they even have a reason? Its just so freakin odd isn't it?
They either ran out of time or they didn't think giving him more conversations was necessary, I'm guessing. I really hope it's the former, because honestly, what did we really learn about Garrus in ME2? Not that much, if you ask me. We learned about stuff he's been through recently (and not so recently), but I didn't feel like I learned anything more about him personally that I didn't already know from ME1. We learned that he was a vigilante on Omega for awhile, that he had a one-night stand with a nameless turian woman back in his early military days (which overall told us more about turian military ships than about Garrus), and that he left C-Sec after Shepard died because of all the red tape (where have I heard this before?). The only thing even remotely important out of all of those was the Omega incident. Unless I'm forgetting something...but if I forgot about it, what does that say? I just wish he would have told us more. He could have talked about his bad dreams instead of his sex life, for example. Or more about his family, or how he felt about Shepard's death, or any number of things that are significantly more important and more interesting.
And I've noticed that most (if not all) of his Normandy conversations are incredibly linear. Shepard doesn't get a whole lot of paragon/neutral/renegade dialogue options to pick from. And his romance conversations are completely linear. Like, 100%. You have no variety of choices during the romance (besides having the option to break it off), except for the paragon interrupt in the final scene, which was honestly kind of lame so I never pick it.
Garrus' loyalty mission and recruitment mission were what made him awesome in ME2. His Normandy conversations felt quite lacking both in quality and quantity. It could be because his original writer worked on the recruitment/loyalty missions whereas his Normandy dialogue and romance were handled by someone else. Which probably also explains his change of personality between ME1 and ME2 (but at least it can be assumed that he's just much less reserved because he knows Shepard better now).
Tali and Garrus were both put in the game as fanservice (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but it seems to me that Tali had a lot more effort put into her. It's a real shame, honestly. If Garrus returns as a squadmate in ME3 then I hope the writers make up for it.
Alright I'm done whining. I'm tempted to copy and paste this into the "ME3 Wishlist" thread though.

Okay. Rant over. I'm tempted to copy and paste this into the "ME3 Wishlist" thread though.
I hadn't really considered how linear the romance dialogue is until now. Probably just too stoked that it was an option in the first place. I hope/assume it was a resource issue. In comparison, in the first game with Kaidan, Shepard could respond in neutral, paragon, or renegade fashion and he would have a slightly different response to give, however it all served to progress the romance. So not only is it possible to add branching LI dialogue, they've done it before!
I hope since they have all their resources in place already, there is going to be loads of dialogue in the 3rd game. I could die happy.

See - Shep never talks about her problems either. It's why I persoanlly see Garrus as the mirror of Shep: both have that 'leader protecting their team' burden experience, and don't like to burden others with their own stuff (Leadery aloofness, y'see.) I have a feeling that in a relationship, there are going to be a lot of stoic silences.
Garrus: We aren't good at this.
Shepard: I have to go.

Shepard's comment afterwards was interesting too "Will 11 make it better?" (However it went). Garrus really was in the heat of the moment there, and then he still tells you that there was some good in him still after it all, it amuses me.

Oh Garrus, so many threads seem to pop up around your loyalty mission. They really did a good job with the "Shades of gray" aspect and manipulating people's emotions about him. (I don't know what to do with those shades of gray, man!)

...Anyway
It's impressive, they've really put a lot of thought into how Garrus's character can be swayed. I've also noticed that he's chewing on his collar at 0:30 of the second vid. I wonder how nutritious metal is to him.
