How awesome are those pictures? It must have been weird playing with Garrus as Shepard. And what is this I'm seeing? Kaidan? Wait a second, you played Garrus with FemShep's voice?

Did someone say 'completely off-topic Final Fantasy history time?' Because I think I heard someone say that. In Japanese, the flower girl's name is written in katakana, which is a phonetic alphabet used to represent a foreign word or sounds. Meaning, it's not a Japanese word. The katakana translates to E-a-ri-su. Japanese actually has no 'th' sound, and 'su' is often used to approximate it. The translators went with 'Aeris' in the original FF7 translation, but recent spinoffs considered 'Aerith' a more correct interpretation. Technically speaking there's a good argument for both, since you can't write either Aerith or Aeris in Japanese; the English translation is only an approximation of a word that doesn't even exist in Japanese. So, people whose first exposure was the original FF7 (probably a significant part of their childhood gaming, too) always call her Aeris, someone who was introduced later goes with the more common/popular Aerith. Both groups consider themselves purists.Gerse1 wrote...
Wait, they changed Squall to Leon? pppppffffffffft. lame. Also, I say Aeris....
Kingdom Hearts is a strange beast. None of the characters in it are actually from their respective FF universes; they were all born and raised on one KH world. So none of the events from their histories actually happened in Kingdom Hearts (except Auron). It's like they're clones, sort of. It's a goddamn mess, really.
/can you tell that I spent my early teen years arguing about this on the internet orz
SO UH THAT GARRUS GUY IS A PRETTY COOL CAT.
I think Garrus is willing to listen to Shepard (submissive is technically the right word, but people will argue otherwise because of its other connotations) because of both turian discipline (it makes sense that even Garrus, a guy who calls himself a bad turian, would fall back onto the instilled instinct of following orders on an unfamiliar human ship) and because Shepard doesn't really dismiss him out of hand/restrict him. When you first meet him arguing with Pallin, the Executor outright dismisses his claims and just sort of tosses him under the bus (you have to wonder why a detective without very high clearance was assigned to investigate an extremely classified Spectre-level case--I don't think C-Sec really wanted it looked at too hard, not out of maliciousness, but of, perhaps, pride).
Shepard never does that; even when going full Paragon you usually take the time to logically argue and debate with him, not just say "YOUR INVESTIGATION IS OVER". He's willing to admit he's wrong, but he doesn't like being shut down. The slow-but-exceedingly-fine wheels of bureaucracy don't treat him like a person, but Shepard does.
Also, I'm not sure, but I think he gives you the short 'well, I'll have to think about that, Commander' only if you take a neutral/mixed stance in his conversations, not in your overall alignment. If you go totally Paragon or Renegade with him, you get the 'Commander, I wanted to thank you' one.

Stephi can you link to that pic you just posted? It's too tiny for me to see =(
Also (and I promise this is Garrus related) some of you may remember a while back I was trying to figure out why the heck I couldn't see my Shep's face code on the 360 (because I was planning on switching over to PC for ME from now on so I can do fan-erific projects and wanted my canon Shep's face) and finally came to the conclusion it was bugged....I had tried EVerything but no code, it was never there....
ahem WELL recently on my insanity run (on a game imported from an ME2 save which was imported from an ME2 save which was imported from ME1.....heh) I did Archangel's mission and docked at Omega and LO AND BEHOLD THE ANGEL DIDST BRING ME A MIRACLE because all of a sudden my face codes were there in the squad screen!!!!
So thanks Garrus! I still don't understand why they were never there before...but YAY! =D

But also, I am pretty ignorant about that Garrus face texture thing...I heard if you didn't have the mod, his face could look really crappy and undetailed...Could someone give me a one-sentence boildown of the problem? sorry if that's needy

That's a pretty serious bug, by the way. Was it limited to the PC game? Because in the Xbox, Garrus doesn't look as bad as in that first picture, but I don't remember him looking as sharp and as clear as in the texture of the second...

I should also be asleep. That is true of most of the times I post on this thread. lol
I don't mind the hour gain, but losing the hour is just depressing. Sigh. It just went from being slightly late, to very late, with none of the inbetween.
When is the clock shift in the US? Do you even have one?
Edit: to stay on topic - if you could only max out 1 of Garrus's powers, which would you say is the best?

Bioware was all 'we're aware of the glitch, but it would take rearranging gigabytes of data to fix and so it's not worth patching.' So then Texmod and texture fixes (before ME2, some people replaced the broken texture with other turian faces, so you can find some Nihlus!Garrus screencaps floating around), very small programs that are fairly easy to use, came about. Upon discovering it could be circumvented so easily, everyone's face was >:|
Gerse, re-importing an ME2 character causes the code to show up? Awesome! I know I saw my import's face code SOMEWHERE, but I could never figure out what exactly caused it to appear. Although, if you want my Insanity advice, it's better to start fresh with another ME1 import. ME2's New Game + doesn't give you nearly as many bonuses as importing an ME1 game. It's also a little nicer to ease into Insanity from level 2-5 (depending on your import) and up rather than go straight to the scaled-up level 30 difficulty.

Overload, either incarnation. Shields are the only thing I can't get through as an adept with reave and warp (not sure if this is true on other difficulties, I only play on casual or normal.) Great excuse to ALWAYS TAKE GARRUS WITH ME ALL THE TIME.
