Friendzoned Turian: We could go see Fleet and Flotilla. It got awards for its depiction of um...Turian and Quarian relationships...
Garrus: Thank the spirits I wasn't that awkward.
Shepard: Hah!

Shepard:  What was that you said about my waist again?

So... uh, you think this armor makes my ass look big?  Thanks, Garrus.

Hey, my hair was very supportive in high school...I went to high school in the '80's and used probably two large cans of hair spray a week. Turian fringe is less immobile than my hair was then. LOL

Speaking of fringe.  Do you think Turians can or ever do dye their fringe?  I keep imagining some teenage punk turian with bright green fringe, tattoos (not colony marking), and pierced mandibles.

They have tattoos, I'm sure they can dye themselves.

Awkward turians are so adorable. xD It was amusing how the quarian still said "private conversation" when my Shepard was standing across the room.

Shepard: *Paragon Interrupt!* Come on, give him a chance! :)

Shepard could help out the asari and the krogan, so why not the turian and the quarian?

Maybe the quarian was talking to the two humans at the table nearby them?

I think I've there were some turians that tattoo their fringe, and some with a full-face colour, though I can't imagine piercings. I'm not sure about temporary colourings, and I'm not sure if teenage turians are the biggest focus of Bioware when there are women turians missing, so they're not going to throw us a line.

Now that would be so cool; I would love to see that on someone!
Maybe on the legendary female turian (that will probably never surface, unfortunately)? :wizard:

They could sell fringe dye at Turian Hot Topic. I am suddenly stuck on the idea of punk, goth, and emo turian teenagers.

The quarian never wanted the turian in the first place. And all the Turian wanted was to get into her "pants." Hardly a noble venture. Whereas the Krogan was reciting poetry.

Though, turians are a pretty strict race, and you don't get very many deviants like Garrus, I don't think. I think turian teens have the idea of their public duty and rigor hammered into them, plus most turians get military training at 15.

We don't really know how the Turians would view fringes. They don't seem to have a problem with tattoos.

I dunno, it sounds as if the quarian just isn't paying attention to the turian. I guess the turian does want to get into her pants, but at least he sounds less sleazy than her other date. Probably not the best relationship, but it sounds nice, cute, maybe adorable.

Though, of course, Charr is definitely more adorable. Him and the polite krogan really makes me like the krogan race.

I guess not. Just call it narrow-minded, but to me the idea of teenage turians with different stereotypes similar to humans kind of screams deviation from the system/anarchy, to a certain degree. There are some turians whose tattoo extends to the length of their fringe, so I honestly don't know unless Bioware throws us something to chew on.

Well, I think they said ME3 isn't going to be the end of their universe. Playable/romanceable turians and race cultures more developed, hopefully.

I wouldn't be surprised to find kids like that on Omega.

She was in a relationship with the human. While the turian and the quarian seem at best to be acquaintances. I think the turian is just as sleazy if not more. He's trying to trick her by pretending to sympathize with her. Basically pretending to care. Thankfully, it did not work.

Probably not the best relationship, but it sounds nice.

Wanting to just get into her pants is nice??
???

I think it's an important to note that what constitutes as deviant varies from culture to culture.

Hmm... I guess it does seem pretty horrible, when you say it like that. I guess I got fooled by the fake sincerity. And I guess that was a pretty stupid thing to say/arrangement of words, of course that's not nice. Guess I'm going to have to turn the turian into a creeper for the story, that sounds more suitable.

I know, but judging from what seems to be a fairly strict culture, it does seem to go against it a little bit, but I guess I'm basing it on if it happened in such a hypothetical human culture, so perhaps turians are more lenient on such things. It's hard to say when you're talking about a completely different world.

Hmm...

"Right, because you humans have a wide range of cultures and attitudes, but we krogan all think and act exactly alike..."

Applies to all, actually.

TWO romances diverged in a full galaxy,

And sorry I could not love both

And be one Shepard, long I stood

And spoke to one as long as I could

To where he asked after my loyalty;

Then spoke to the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because he was friend and never asked for more;

Though as for that the time together

Had shown them both to be fine malien,

And both that morning equally lay

In snow no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two romances diverged in a galaxy, and I—

I took the one less close to home,

And that has made all the difference.

APOLOGIES TO ROBERT FROST; I love this poem. Here's my version, dedicated to Thane and Garrus.

Off-topic: I realized who Thane is... Westley from the Princess Bride,"As you wish, siha".

I thought the turian was just trying to be her boyfriend while being hopelessly stuck in the friend zone, and the quarian didn't even notice that he was dropping hints. xD Maybe I just didn't hear the whole conversation (but I'm pretty sure I did). To me, it almost seemed like my Shepard's relationship with Garrus, except she would be the one dropping hints that he didn't notice.

Also, the idea of a punk-style turian teenager from Omega sounds adorable. :D

If he was really trying to be a good boyfriend (I doubt boyfriend ever crossed his mind), he wouldn't be trying to manipulate her into sex.

and the quarian didn't even notice that he was dropping hints.

Nah, I think she notices. When the turian asks her for a date she's like "yea, noo..."

To me, it almost seemed like my Shepard's relationship with Garrus, except she would be the one dropping hints that he didn't notice.

That's pretty insulting to Garrus' relationship with femshep if you ask me. Neither of them just want sex, unlike the turian on Illium.

To be honest, I guess it all depends on how you read/hear the turian's lines. Either way, it sounds quite desperate, but "desperate to go out with you", or "desperate to get into bed with you,", it's quite unclear. You also need to think about if he actually means what he says or not.

...He does invite her straight out to watch a video of relationships between turians and quarians, including love scenes, probably at his house. Something tells me it's "make her drunk and make a move on her in my house,"

I guess it would be adorable, but I'd rather not go near one. Punk in Omega... at least let me have Garrus by my side or something.

Despite being based on something existing, that's actually quite good, Aricle.

Friendzoned turian has shades of the Nice Guy: http://xkcd.com/513/ Though the quarian does seem pretty oblivious, some guys just don't get that there is a purpose to the friendzone.

Man, I bet punk turians on a turian world would get totally ostracized. Turians have a lot of social freedom, but anti-establishment stuff and F*CK DA POLICE would...probably not be tolerated.

Well, I guess we just saw the conversation in completely different ways. xD Not that it matters, since Shepard couldn't even respond to them, and they probably won't even make an appearance in ME3 unless they're just random NPCs again like the refund guy.
