TWO romances diverged in a full galaxy,
And sorry I could not love both
And be one Shepard, long I stood
And spoke to one as long as I could
To where he asked after my loyalty;
Then spoke to the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because he was friend and never asked for more;
Though as for that the time together
Had shown them both to be fine malien,
And both that morning equally lay
In snow no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two romances diverged in a galaxy, and I—
I took the one less close to home,
And that has made all the difference.
APOLOGIES TO ROBERT FROST; I love this poem. Here's my version, dedicated to Thane and Garrus.
Off-topic: I realized who Thane is... Westley from the Princess Bride,"As you wish, siha".
