Hmm. Any way of telling (without a verified profile) that this guy is the real deal? http://twitter.com/GarrusV

I kind of doubt it. Even if Brandon Keener did have a twitter, I doubt he would call himself "GarrusV."

I kind of think that BK would be laying as low as possible, considering the way some of us talk (I seem to recall a couple of posts from about 100 pages back about breaking into his house to steal his answering machine) ;)

P.S. when I say some of us, I am absolutely implicating myself in the creepiness ;)

@boots - When I can get the row boat out, we might consider heading to AnimeBoston... but I doubt it. The Pawtuxet has prevented most traffic out of our neighborhood. Hooray floods!

I don't know- it's possible. Think I'm going to follow this guy anyway, just in case. Either way, it'll be entertaining. :)

For some reason, i was imagining garrus as a character in a Aqua Team Hunger Force episode. I don't know why...

Bringing that up, my head went ATHF --> Adult Swim --> Robot Chicken.
...Then I thought, "Dammit, Seth Green! Do a Mass Effect skit!" And, of course...it should have Garrus in it with Brandon Keener doing the cameo.

Yeah, I was stuck down in Fall River this morning; BCC campus shut down after noon, but I had a morning class. Had to backstroke all the way out there for a 45-minute class and hydroplane all the way back. Made it just in time, they were closing the damn highway behind me.

If anyone's looking for outfit reference, someone on the LJ comm extracted the models and posed them all nice-like. Garrus regular, and Garrus loyalty. I like that the arms have little 'vents' for his arm spikes, nice design continuity.

Looking at it in detail, how exactly did he manage to get shot in the back by the gunship?

I don't think it's that he got shot in the back, it's more like the rocket went in the front and out the back, maybe?  It's also why I think that the bandage is pretty much what's holding his face together on that side.  One of these times I'd like to see what kind of body damage has happened to him too.  Like a fan artist who's got more talent than me actually draw the damage to that shoulder/neck/cowl... because, well, that's where the damn thing exploded.  It'd make sense that his face wasn't the only spot to suffer damage.

As for 95, from what I understand, since the water's going to keep rising tomorrow, it might be closed then.  Don't even know if the state's going to be working tomorrow.  Yay... /sarcasm
Good to know you got home ok though XD

There's no corresponding hole on his front, though--I'm talking about the hole on the bottom-left of the back angle (easier to see on the regular armor). He's got the main wound on his right side, the one that damaged his collar, face, and shoulder...but where did those burns on the bottom-left of his back come from?

Well, it could have been shrapnel. It was, after all, an exploding rocket which did him in. It's possible that heated plasma or metal form the blast found its way to his suit from a richochet. Or it could have been another bit of damage sustaned during his long battle with the mercs. Remember the ariship hit him a few times before it took him out in that brutal way.

That, ot the artists just liked placing scorch marks.

Hrm... this is the picture lightened a few million times.

I don't think it's a wound... more like incidental damage maybe? It doesn't look like enough dmg to be a hole... but it is a significant hit...

Overenthusiastic texture artists is a definite possibility. Take a look at the middle closeup, over on the right, which is the same area, I think. Looks bad, but probably just shrapnel.

... I say "just" like that's nothing.

Long time lurker poking my head up...

I think the reason he has
so much damage to his armor is not just from the rocket. Remember, he
gets nailed a few times with the machine gun before the rocket is fired
and he is spun around. Plus there was plenty of shrapnel for him to deal
with.

Also, I keep reading how much
people wish they could remove his scars using the med-bay machine. I keep wondering if I'm the only person who finds his
scars incredibly sexy and something that I hope stays with his
character? It helps mark him as different than other Turian, that he has
struggled and lost and continues on when others wouldn't have been able
to. I see it as a badge of honor and strength for him. I tend to be a
pansy paragon most of the time(there are a few moments I can't help but
shove people out of windows or shoot gas cans because they're talking
too much...) but I would have actually preferred to be given the option
to keep scars on my Fem!Sheps, too. They're warriors, they've been
through hell... to me that should leave a bit of a mark on a person. But
that's just me.

And... to round out my little... er... rant.
(This is from things I read way back in the first thread and never had
time to comment on then... so feel free to ignore it.) Am I the only
person who keeps getting confused when people say that Shepard would
never want a wedding or wear a dress? Since when did a strong, powerful
woman also mean they can't enjoy looking/feeling 'feminine'? I have two
main Fem!Shep personalities that I play and neither would pass up the
chance to get out of her armor, put on a casual relaxed outfit and go on
a nice quiet date with her Turian love. (Granted, one would prefer a
nice dinner out with some dancing and the other would prefer a quiet
park away from people.) I could easily see
either getting married(life bonded, whatever) and wearing a dress. Just
as easily as they both strap on their armor and kick major ***. Granted,
this is what I love about the games... each of us can make our own
personalities along with our own characters. How I've resisted writing
about  mine I have no idea...

Okay, I'll scuttle back to my dark
corner now.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/bandit.png[/smilie]

Going by the concept art, I think Garrus may have just escaped getting more than singed. The top of his armor is about level with his side fringe and the bottom of his forehead. Turian collars seem to extend to just below the back of the mandible--the worst damage is above that area. According to his ME1 look, Garrus has a collar of average or shorter height. Though by the look of his ME2 concept, he took some burn damage in the neck area (that art's a little wtf in general, though...green eyes and pink musclature?).

The poor guy's already got half his face blown off, we don't need to beat him up any more.

Notice the lack of leg spurs in that ME2 concept art too.

Sad panda...
And yea, he's pretty beat up already, but this chic?  Digs scars. XD  I don't doubt there's probably little to no dmg to the rest of him... but a gal can dream...

Well, he's wearing heavy armor in ME2 and medium/light in ME1, so that might be more why his collar seems smaller on his armor between the two. But yes, to me he appears to have gotten major damage to the side of his face and down his neck and upper shoulder. The thing on his face is holding the side of his face together, from what I understand. His mandible and jaw would probably be in bad shape after the explosion. Considering the gurgling of blood you hear when he's trying to breath, it seemed to make sense to me.

I never can pick out the gurgle noise, unless you mean the bloody gasp of sorts? Or blah; perhaps I shouldn't have music playing during that paaart.

I've played this WAY too much, I have the scene memorized at this point. He gasps and then you can hear the gurgling as they gather around him. It makes me respect that man so much that he's up and cracking jokes.

And is it just me, or is anyone else ticked off that Miranda is all 'I'm the second in command...' when I bring Jack back. No. She. Is. Not. GARRUS is my Second. HE is the ONLY one on that ship, besides the doctor and the pilot, that I even REMOTELY trust at that point. There should be an option to kick her out of the room and have Garrus around. And I have never wanted to space a person as badly as I do Jacob every time he insults a new member of my crew as if HE has any say in who I bring onto MY ship for MY mission. /dislikes both of the humans a lot

Ahh, alright, i'll try and listen better next time. I don't have too much of a problem with Miranda, especially at that point since you're still running around under TIM's direction, so his little agent is running the basic ship stuff. I would rather have a second in command that I would totally trust, but what can you do (Ha, would be fun to see how the dialog would change!).

Hearing Jacob complain about some crew members is funny, but I always paragon him during the speech with Thane ("Step off man!"). I see where he's coming from "He's an assassin, how could you so quickly trust him?". but I seem to be rather gulliable/very quick to trust people myself, ha. He said he'd help, it'll be fine! I half wonder if he was trying to get a slight rise out of him.. And with Tali, he seemed civil enough, but it spiraled out a little fast.

It almost makes me sad how lustily Femshep can talk to Jacob though, i'd really like to talk to him and get to know him a little better, but only on a "WOAH FRIENDS MAN" way.
