I wish Garrus wouldn't think he was invincible. He's never getting under cover when I need him to. Just because you can take ONE rocket to the face and live...

Hmm, is anybody able to use the squad commands without utterly failing? The only thing I'm capable of doing is spamming the "get to my position" command.
Really? One chopstick goes between my ring finger and middle finger, one between my middle finger and index finger, whilst my thumb keeps it balanced together.
Hmm, I tried a three finger setup, and that works too, so I guess it isn't completely impossible for Garrus.

I got confused during the tutorial at the start of ME2 about ordering your allies, and I thought Jacob's icon looked like Shepard's face, so I had no idea what to do when I brought the command wheel up. Yeah, I was a little foolish, I guess.
You gotta love Garrus, no matter what happens we still use and love him.

I do that and he STILL pops up.

Yeah, it was just a nice find off of deviantart. And I told you, I'm crap at sewing, but it's something I want to practise. I don't think that sort of design is something I can accomplish as a beginner. siltsonata would have more luck with it than I would. Unless you coerce me into doing so, I doubt you'll be able to get me making Garrus costumes anytime soon.
Heh, show a little respect to the elderly, young lad. When I tell you to sew, you sew. I expect to see the full outfit in a month. Gah, kids these days...
Getting your squad into cover: assign the destinations when you got your powerwheel up. It's easier to target the right crates during a pause. I'm using it a lot on my hardcore PT. The AI is rather slow though, I tell them where to go, they'll confirm 2 secs later, they try to get into cover, PEWPEWPEW.
Garrus: "I'm dying here!"
Shep: *sigh* "I told you to get into cover 2 secs ago. You're not invincible, you know."

How the hell do you know I'm younger than you, young lady, why I... *looks back* oh, right. Very well, mother. *grudgingly starts to sew* Do you want the first outfit, or the second?

Hmm, I guess I'm going to have to try that next time. I guess with the delay they take to register all commands (it takes them ages to realise that I'm repetitively screaming at them to get back to my position and cover me) you need some foresight and send them to their positions before contact starts.
Garrus: "I'm dying here!"

him in the head. I jumped over cover and his head happened to be there.
His reaction was great though.
Yeah, discovering the elbow attacking was an accident too. I pressed B to remind myself what it did, and Garrus was there. Did it a few more times to listen to him grunt. Pretty much the same thing happens everytime that accident happens.

...Looking at the black costume, it does look incredibly sexy. Bleh.
...You know, that would make an interesting story.
...I've started the past four sentences on an ellipsis.
I love how the missile to his face in his recruitment mission requires massive medical attention, the missile to his face in the suicide mission kills him, and any missiles to his face between the recruitment and the suicide mission can just be Medigel'd/Unity'd and he's back on his feet.
Oh, that reminds me.

Y'know, looking at the scene right before Garrus got hit by the missile, he gets ambushed by the gunship's gunfire, and he manages to get to cover. He looks fine, not in the best condition but he pulled through that. Why did he jump out when the missile shot out?
Right at the start of the recruitment mission, you see how he quite skillfully jumps out and nails one of the recruits right after a missile blows up near him. I guess as time went on he wore down, so maybe his senses wore a bit thin, but I always wondered that. The only reason I can think of is a lapse in judgement, but I'm not sure.
I mean in terms of being in character, rather than Bioware using it as a story-telling device, such as that little scene at the end of their romance.
(copied from the front page)
I mean, he can see what the gunship is doing from where he is, it appears.
Any thoughts on that?

That's all right, Superman landed in Ferelden, too.
No Garrus Batman to team up with, though.

You know when fighting the heavy mecs they take a sec between shooting and firing a missile? That’s always the best time to unload a few rounds in them. However sometimes I miscalculate the time and stand up to get a missile in the face. D:
Garrus calibrations must have been off while fighting the gunship, causing him to get shot in the face.
Now because of that he is always focused on making sure his calibrations are correct – no matter the situation.
So every time you try to strike up a conversation with him he is calibrating.
It makes perfect sense.

Garrus: "I'm dying here!"
Shep: *sigh* "I told you to get into cover 2 secs ago. You're not invincible, you know."
Sigh. The bane of my Garrus team, insanity run existance. It's actually especially annoying (I'm trying my first insanity raun and it is HARD!) because I hate not having Garrus in my squad, but he does love to jump in front of enemy fire for no apparent reason. I'm seriously considering benching him for the next collector ship run. He let me down on Horizon, and as for Tali's recruit....
"Hey, Garrus. You know how that Colossus just missiled you to death in the face? That was why I told you to hide behind that thar box. Y'know, the missile proof one. I'm not made of medigel!!"
But then, I'm weighing up the benefits of the emotional encouragement of him telling me 'impressive!' all the time.

I played through Garrus's recruitment mission video scenes, tried to avoid the actual bombing, but I guess I worked out the scene.
First, Garrus gets ambushed by the gunship, and machine gunned down, and he crawls behind a crate, before getting back up and taking a breather.
Then, Tarak says "This ends now!" and shoots out a rocket, and the exact moment the missile shoots out of the gunship, Garrus tries rolling out of his cover, and the rocket blows up right in his face.
For reference. About 2:22, though obviously it's not pleasant to play it over and over again. I guess it really is a case of coincidence. And, MidnightSG might actually have a point. Garrus could have thought that he could pop a few heat sinks at the gunship before the missile shot out, and he could get into cover. Or he wanted to roll to a better position, when unfortunately the missile fired. It really was just a miscalculation...

This. And not running in front of you when you're shooting. He's the worst. I believe that even when I rotate the whole team, I STILL end up shooting him the most.
And then he yells at me.
Oh yeah, it really annoys me when he doesn't run in front of me when I'm shooting. Bloody idiot, who is he to think he shouldn't have to get in my way when I'm firing.
I haven't played anything harder than Normal, yet. Garrus gets killed a fair amount, but he manages to get by. He doesn't get in my way though, even though I don't order him. I guess I position myself differently and use weapons that don't require me to be far forwards, even though he's on an assault rifle.
Still love him, though.

TEACH US.
I equip him with a sniper rifle, so he can do some damage at a long range. Grunt is the tank, so he can run where ever he wants. I stay somewhere in the middle.
"Garrus... Garrus...?! HELLO!?! You have a sniper rifle, it's not supposed to be used in CLOSE COMBAT, dude!"
It's ok on normal, but he acts like he's suicidal on hardcore. I have to show him where to hide every goddamn time. (same for every other squad mate, but hey, this is Garrus)

I'm on a 360 as well. I have few problems with him. I do tend to steal his cover but he usually finds cover quickly and stays there. I've had Thane be the suicidal one more than him. Maybe he'd prefer death by rain of bullets to Kepral's Syndrome.Sialater wrote...
