I'm sorry Silt!  But your comment just... made me think this.  And I died laughing, and then I felt bad, because you have the red ring T.T

I picked up my xbox less than a year ago and have not ever had a problem. I believe that may be due in part to the new chip that my version of xbox came with.

Hah, don't worry...that's what I was thinking of too.  ;)

Mostly because I consider this a Virmire of my console.  Nuke-like explosion. OF ANGER.

But I've never let him A)Kill Dr. Heart, B)Shoot Harkin and C)Kill Sidonis. I just... I'd go to bed feeling all bad about myself if I did. Hell, I can't even pick Renegade options for my own character, let alone point Garrus down that road. Even my harsh(er) Colonist/Sole Survivor wouldn't let him do it, and she is really harsh about betrayal.

I've never elbowed Garrus or kicked him in the head before. o0 I didn't know you could.... huh. /goes Garrus hunting

No but you could tell him to screw off in me1 and not have him join your crew:crying:

Why on EARTH would anyone EVER do that? D: That's just... wow. I mean, I knew the option was there but... just... no.

Also, I just was playing in the collector ship and attempted to um... accidentially bump into dear Garrus with my elbow and he just moved out of the way. Never actually hit him. (I tried. Too much.) I think he watched me beat down a few husks earlier and decided he wanted no part of that. <_<

It was just hard to be a racist spik on mass effect, seriously. Thats why, as Pressly stated it, the normandy was like a zoo.

My Shepards always choose the Renegade options with Garrus. Most of them feel that Saleon and Sidonis deserve to die for what they did, and others just do it for Garrus. In the case of Sidonis, some of them really hate traitors or people who get teammates killed off, just from their own personal experience.

Evil Shepard doesn't exactly live by any moral code that would keep him from betraying someone, but he would definitely kill anyone who betrayed him, so he understands why Garrus would want to. Also, Sidonis' betrayal could have gotten Garrus killed, and Garrus is his most loyal squadmate, which means that Sidonis almost cost Evil Shepard a valuable member of his team. As for Saleon... well, even Evil Shepard has standards. He doesn't like that sort of "overkill", for lack of a better word.

Yes it's too bad he was killed off. I don't like Kelly at all, I would've preferred him on my ship than that woman.

You can post in the group, you know >_>

@Ray well those were other Shepards. I can understand compromising sometimes - but if the Shepard would have wanted mercy had it not been for Garrus, then I agree.

@Ray Joel Oh: Only one Shepard (well, one and her clone) have romanced Garrus. The Shepards who "just do it for Garrus" are the ones like Evil Shepard who would not have any personal or moral opinions about Saleon and Sidonis. The way they see it, they're just helping Garrus take care of some unfinished business. :)

@Collider: I'm not that good at using the forums, and I didn't see a "reply" button, so... I posted it here. xD

I didn't like Pressly until I read his garbled journal in the Normandy wreckage.

Honestly, ME fandom is a baby when it comes to overall creepiness--I include the Tali fans in this; they may be numerous, but compared to the sort of thing that I've seen in my time on the internet they're casual fans. Nobody thinks the characters actually exist. Nobody's in an astral plane marriage. Nobody's started a cult. Nobody's sending fanfiction to the voice actors/writers or otherwise harassing them. Nobody's started an elaborate string of alternate usernames to inflate their own popularity. Nobody writes pages upon pages about why the author is a racist for not validating their favorite pairing. Nobody carries around a pillow/figure of their favorite character and treats it like a person.

As a Final Fantasy and Harry Potter vet? Mass Effect fans are goddamn normal. A few filthy running jokes on a forum are all in good fun. If someone gives Keener a 'LIQUID SUGAR' sign, I'll accept the 'creepy' label with dignity. Before then, though? This is nothing.

I don't think I really liked or disliked Pressly until Shepard stole the Normandy and he made some comment about it being exciting. I'm not sure what the exact quote was, but I liked him after that. And then he died... which is unfortunate, because it would have been nice to have him on the Normandy instead of Kelly.

The first time I played Mass Effect, I had already read that there were consequences to Shepard's actions, and I thought I had messed up at the very beginning of the game when Jenkins died. xD

It's so sad this has actually happened. I read about a girl who thought she married Sepiroth in an astral plane. I was...I don't know. I don't know how to react.

Yea, pretty much. Calling us obsessive is unfair and untrue.

And don't forget the 'kill yourself to join Selphie in Balamb Garden' copypasta; while I'm 99% sure it's just internet trolling, the fact that so many people are willing to believe it--and that I'm not certain myself--speaks volumes about the general insanity of the Final Fantasy fandom.

A lot of people are crazy. Although uh...killing yourself over a video game character is hard for me to believe at all, there are plenty of examples of people being insane, including fantards. I've heard of people who think

a) They have spectral tails (WTF)

B) They are a werewolf.

c) They were a wolf.

d) They are a dragon.

e) They are a "psychic vampire."

So the whole marrying Sepiroth in the astral plane thing I could believe. That, or it's some pretty effective trolling.

Wow, I mean I am resigned to being odd and wasting way too much time talking about this stuff, but that really does a fantastic job of keeping things in perspective.  Hooray for not yet hitting bottom!

Spectacular doodle, btw.

This. I'm a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings vet who has ventured into a few different anime fandoms and pagan forums. Compared to a lot of the stuff out there, this place is pretty clean. It's a bit like a safe-haven - when the rest of the internet makes my head feel like exploding, I can still retreat here and not have to see people talking about their boyfriend-who-exists-on-the-astral-plane, or their blow-up-doll that looks like insert-character-here, or risk being linked to one of the "Legendary Badfic".

If it wasn't for Bioware, I'd think all fandom was like that.
