Looks good. I still want to figure that out. Along with using TexMod for ME1. I tried but it made no sense once I opened it.

QUESTION TO ALL:

This ties into Garrus because it is very disappointing that there was no follow-up dialogue with Garrus, Joker, Tali or Dr. Chakwas on this topic/mission.

Where did you place the monument on Alchera?

The first time, near Pressly's datapad; second time, Mako; most recently, by Ashley's station where her face is remembered.

Huh. I didn't know you could place it in different locations. (I'm just so observant :pinched:) I placed it at the section with the mess hall, because thats the part I encountered first.

I took ages deciding, and eventually placed it at the Mako.(I must say, it survived pretty well considering.)

OK, see what happens when you think about Garrus while listening to Celtic rock? You start imagining elaborate Arthurian fictions set on Palaven 1000s of ears ago, with Turiens on horseback, having epic sword battles and impressive castles! I did not get enough sleep last night. lol.

I wish I was an artist though, because the idea of some sort of medievil Turien landscape excites me. It stands to reason that no species on the citadel appeared magically in the universe able to travel through space: the must all have evolved technologically and culturally to get where they are when we meet them. It'd be very interesting to think about historical Palaven, and what the Turiens would have been like at various points in their development as a race (used here to differentiate that from species, which is more biological, I think. Though I'd imagine before the were space bound, there was more variation amounst Turien cultural groups. Obviously only slightly, though, as the game seems to lean on the 'humans are a special species' thing.) They come accross quite Roman-like to me, in terms of the discipline, the militaristic culture, and the respect for authority and chain of command. (Also, the names. lol.) I would love to learn a bit more about Turien history/myth/legend in future codex entries. Where a culture comes from says a lot about where it's going sometimes, and informs everything about where it is.

Also, tell me a Turien on horse (or some Palaven equivelent) back, hooded, chainmailed, and brandishing a sword wouldn't be pretty cool?

...I had this freaky/strange as hell dream where I got hit on by 3 turians, ending in Garrus. Kisses, some sort of sentimental words and crying everywhere. When I remembered it right now, I suddenly thought "...okay,"

Morning, "Garrusites"

It's April, and I hear my parents moaning about snow. WTF here, too.

I guess turians pre-space travel would be really interesting.

I love Garrus. Good night here, all.

Whiner, I'm 1 hour ahead of you :P. Goodnight.

Yes, quoting from 3 pages ago, but in my defence, I had to get up at
6am to get a train! lol (which I am currently on). Ans Flammie, youngster's like yourseld do need more sleep, but you should also have better stamina! I'm old. I need my naps. :P

SHUT UP!!! I'M A MID TEEN!!! AND YOU BOTH ARE IN YOUR PEAK!!! I HAVE NO STAMINA!!!

My sister has to wake up at 3:30 Wednesday-Friday, and even Saturday and Sunday every other week. Eat that.

Turns out I fell asleep at 4:00, in this timezone, actually.

And ugly baby pic, guys? Warn me next time! a, I can't unsee that, and b, the lady sat next to me saw my screen and now looks distinctly uncomfortable. She is avoiding eyecontact!

Ouch, that's tough. It's always difficult when someone posts an uncomfortable picture, and there's someone sitting right next to me.

...Unseeing picture, right now. I think this ability to manipulate my memories is a little strange.

I placed my structure right at the very first place after entering the planet, though I explored the whole area first.

Not on Facebook, didn't see the need, so I can't join that group. Probably for the better, would be named and shamed if anybody from school saw.

Jacob: The priiize needs calibrating
Jack: Why don't we have some casual calibrations?
Miranda: I've been genetically calibrated.
Legion: This platform requires calibration.
Samara: I believe the code of the justicars requires calibrating.
Zaeed: Calibrations are goddamn overrated
Grunt: I am krogan. Prove your worth and calibrate me.
Mordin: Stress likely. Sexual activity common. Calibrations required.
Thane: I remember, see it clear as night, the day I needed calibrations
Tali: Oh keelah.

Garrus: ...Can it wait for a bit, I'm in the middle of some calibrations.
Shepard: A little space, please?

I wrote a fanfic spur of the moment. Now I'm scared to write another because of all the reasons mentioned. I guess procrastination also comes into it. I'm also a little worried, because, as said, it's difficult for younger writers to do adults.

I haven't even found/got a beta reader.

I was going to sit down and write today... and then my phone rings at 7:45am on my day off asking if I'd come into work because two of the kids called in. I KNEW I should have left the damn thing turned off.

Flamie, those calibrating comments are.... I choked on my tea. XD Cute. (I agree with Tali.)

Everyone knows the Big Bang happened because Shepard, Garrus and Chuck Norris walked into the same room by accident.

It'd be better than staring at the wall all day. You've got to have a thought to help with being early.

Dammit, silentstephi's screenshots are going to slowly take up all the space on my computer. Yes, I'm saving them all.

*Jacob walks in*

Jacob: The prii-*stabbed in face*

*Thane walks i-*stabbed in face**

*Garrus -*stabbed in face**

Shepard: NOOOOOOO!!!!! STUPID EAGER TRIGGER FINGER!!!! FIRST ACCIDENTAL RENEGADE INTERRUPTS, NOW THIS?!!!! WHY, BIOWARE, WHY?!

*Garrus gets back up*

Garrus: Ready for action, Shepard.

Shepard: THANK GOODNESS!!! THANK YOU BIOWARE!!!

Garrus: Uh... what do we do with these bodies?

*pokes Thane and Jacob with foot*

...Looking at the past few posts, there's an awfully large chain of the pink "Garrus Vakarian for ME3" banner sigs.

*Snarfs on food* Dammit, always the hilarity while I'm eating breakfast, Flammie! XD Are you up for adoption? "Stabbed in the face...." Cannot stop laughing.

Fanfic: I used to struggle quite a bit with dalogue (well, technically still do), but I run through every convo in my head several times and try to imagine the characters saying/doing certain things in game. As long as everything is comparable to something they've already done/said in the game, I find it acceptable. I, too, have a fear of straying too far, even though, ironically, I'm a bit more lenient as a reader about them getting OOC. Will not read simpering woobie Shep fics, though.

Actually, right now I'm trying to write a bunch of turians and it's -hard-. <:(

Hybrid babies: Nojustno. I love turians. I tend to love most humans. But everytime the one time I tried to picture a hybrid baby (that other pic... DO NOT WANT) I was all kinds of squicked. A human/turian baby would be hideous. Maybe Farscape and its Sebacean/Luxan kid set me on the path (hint: he was butt-fugly.) And Luxans looked a lot more humanoid than turians. *Blarfs*

Spoilertext: Awwww maaaaan! If that's for reals I have to go do another playthrough! (The horror! LOL) I always paragon'd my turian in ME1. Not always in ME2....wait. Was that just for ME2? Gaah.

I'll see what I can do. You've still got me locked up in space military boot camp, too.

And, to be fair, that little skit was based on the whole "stab in the face button should be mandatory" discussion.

...It sure doesn't sound fun.

...Wrap Garrus up in rules and regulations if you paragon him, or make him a figure where laws are lenient if you renegade him, an action most of us aren't comfortable with... dammit, Bioware, that can't be fun. Maybe romancing Garrus messes/destroys the scale? Why can't Garrus be a Spectre that stills respects the rules? That's what my Shepard is...

The Mako survived so well, I wondered why we couldn't just dig it up and let Garrus calibrate it back to health.

Sometimes I put the monument next to the part of the ship that actually said "Normandy." Most times I put it next to the CIC because I felt that was the heart of the ship, and it felt like a nice tribute to Navigator Pressly. Once I put it next to the Mako because it seemed centrally located to the entire wreckage.

Crap. Saturday, the hoodies were supposed to be here Thursday...where are they? Must make adorable ME hoodies! Indoctrination of offspring must commence.

Many kudos to the awesome posters of screenshots. ^_^

Also, I got bored (holding off finishing my last ME2 playthrough for 3 more days!!) so I started an MShep PT. Gonna romance Liara, methinks, then Tali. My MShep is Capt freakin' Kirk. But black. :P

Something that was on my mind from reading the "obsessive fan" discussion a few pages back....you know, I hate to think that outsiders to this thread find it upsetting, but then, I find the Tali thread rather scary myself. I just....don't want our Garrus love to backfire, I guess. <:( I'm sure the devs don't read a lot of the thread content itself, for their own safety. But going by page numbers alone you really don't get a truly accurate cross-section of the fanbase. *sigh*

This.
I've spoken with other people who feel that Garrus was the coolest character in the game but I know they would never post anywhere like this.

That info in Gibbed was taken from Mass Effect 1 data.  Unromance certain lieutenants or blue ladies with
the click of a button!  But Shepard I thought I was paragoned in ME1?  Not anymore!

Fixed.

Seriously, though, the screenshots are awesome, keep them up. I'm not completely complaining. The pictures are actually pretty small in terms of file size.

I haven't excessively paragoned Garrus, but I don't want him to become ruthless.

They should have let squaddies down, but I guess the developers felt it was too much bother to get the VAs in and such for it, so there wasn't much point in bringing the characters.

Just been playing ME1, actually. It was funny, I ordered the team to shoot at an enemy an above level in Noveria, and all Liara did was stand behind a box and shoot upwards, hitting the box and making holes in it. I'm starting to get used to it, actually. Can't wait to romance Garrus in ME2.

I actually started to start conflicting about whether to give the evidence to Parasini or Qui'in. I decided to compromise, talk to Parasini first and say I'll help, give the evidence to Qui'in, and say that I couldn't convince him. Hope I didn't annoy him too much that he won't send me a message in ME2.

If aynxalot adopted me and indoctrinated me... *shiver*

I remember being nervous as hell about posting in here, thinking I'd get rejected or something. I think this was around page 150. I guess I've settled in somewhat. I browse a little bit, but I don't really post anywhere but here.

Edit: Bleh, dug the pic up and turned it into a motivational from the very first few pages that I walked this thread. Credit to silentstephi for the image. She really is the awesome screenshot girl.

That's what I was thinking at first, too, but I later decided I liked it with just you there--it felt more desolate that way.  For me, it added to the feel of loss...just Shepard and the ghostly remains of the old Normandy, with those ashy flakes falling.  Very atmospheric.

I wish we could take Tali and Garrus with us. The first Normandy was their home for a while and it was part of an important time in their lives. And I wanted Garrus to have a chance to say goodbye to the Mako. :crying:
