So on that note... I'm curious to know what you guys think about what role Garrus should have in ME3 if Bioware decides not to include him as a squadmate. Frankly I'd like to see him helping you out in an unofficial capacity by forming his own team and trying to win people over to your cause that way. <-- Though again, only if he doesn't get added as a squadmate. What about you all?
Given the fact that Turian's who have no tattoos are considered 'bare-faced' and untrustworthy, Saren for example, I can't imagine that Pavalen didn't at one point adopt it's own tattoo insignia if it didn't have one pre-colonial era.
I agree. I almost expected this in this game before I knew you could recruit him. As long as the romance is awknowledged and maybe even a decent romantic interaction, I don't mind if he's not recruitable. I don't expect him to be.
In my head I expect the old crew to get together to take on Cerberus.

I'd really rather not think about it.
I can't imagine him leaving Shepard by conscious choice, especially if you romanced him. He just has no good reason to. Which is why I'm afraid he's going to get killed off or gravely injured or something at the beginning of ME3 so that they have an excuse to keep him out of your squad. I seriously, seriously hope that I'm wrong though.

But yes, back to Garrus...what what should I ask.

Not saying I disagree, I'd be quite annoyed if he was removed from Shepard's side after all they went through, I was just curious to see what everyone's thoughts on the matter were. I trust Bioware to pull out all the stops for the next game and not just abandon their established characters who could die in ME2 simply because of a technicality; but there is still always a small chance they might choose to take the easiest route and not include him beyond an expanded cameo role. Hence why I wanted to ask what everyone thought he should do if they decided to take that route.Anastassia wrote...

If he's a side-character, I want him to be one you can interact with as much (if not more than) Joker. He should be there to help you, even if he's not on your squad. Though, honestly, why wouldn't he be? What does Garrus have to do aside from be at Shepard's side? He's Shepard's right-hand man.

My theory is that Garrus' insignia is a different variant of the C-Sec insignia that the Turian and Salarian C-Sec officers use. However his is different so it could be the Palaven insignia. Who knows?
That's what the C-Sec Turians use. I'm guessing it's a C-Sec insignia for Turians but I may be wrong. I still doubt every Turian in C-Sec belongs to the same colony.
Ah, But Chellick is a C-Sec Turian (And I hear he's Executor now. Good on ya, mate!)
And his tattoos are different. The wiki (which I assume is taking the info straight from the codex) seems pretty clear that it's for the different colonies.
Chellick has some crazy intense eyes.

Oh no, I agree, I just can't come up with a valid reason for him not to be there. It'd take some serious ret-conning to justify it, and then I'd be disappointed in BioWare for going that route.

I agree. The cameo route seems a bit of a cop-out... and as it's the last in the trilogy and my Shep. has had no romance except with Garrus, it would be a major bummer to have him go "walkabout"...

I took Garrus to Horizon even though everyone advised against it.
It took four hours to do (Insanity infiltrator) but to hear Garrus say, in the span of two seconds "One less to worry about. ONE LESS TO WORRY ABOUT, SCOPED AND DROPPED'' was completely worth it.

No need to fight you guys. What's done is done, nothing we say can change that. Besides this thread is renowned for it's jovial nature and sense of camaraderie, no need to cast that all aside now just because someone else decided to remake it.

Let's hope he stays as a squadmate. I can't imagine what else he'd do aside from being at Shepard's side. It's like the thing he was meant to do. Otherwise what is the point of saving anyone at the end of ME2. Ashley and Kaidan do nothing to help you in ME2 so who's to say they wouldn't do that with everyone that survived in ME2. In anyway I'd still save Garrus even if he wouldn't appear in ME3. I just hope he's a squadmate and an LI, I'd hate to play ME3 without him. Mass Effect just wouldn't be Mass Effect without Garrus as a squadmate. If you ask me, Shepard needs him as much as Garrus needs him/her. They're like best friends, look at the mess Garrus got himself in when Shepard died.

If anything Garrus and Tali should stay as representatives/liaisons to the turians and quarians. I'm sure both governments would want a personal hand in whatever Shepard was deciding for the fate of the galaxy. :3
Though, I doubt Garrus would be their first choice for a representative, given his disdain for red tape.
Also, ACK. Did not notice Chellick's eyes before.

I'd really rather not think about it.A lot of people have speculated that he and Tali could be in charge of rallying the turians and quarians to Shepard's aid, respectively, but I don't see it happening realistically with Garrus. He has no job, no friends, no nothing. He may have helped stop Saren, but his reputation among his people still doesn't seem to be all that spectacular. Why would they listen to him?

Oh good GOD NO.
Makes sense though from the writing standpoint, that's a legit fear.
But come on, Bioware, the poor guy already got his face blown half to hell. Hasn't he had enough "accidents"?

Don't worry, Tali will be ready for a 4.0 any day now.

Shepard: There's something sweet and almost kind
But he was lost, and he was beat and so resigned
And now he's dear and so unsure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before
Garrus: She glanced this way, I thought I saw
And when we touched, she didn't shudder at my claws
No, it can't be, I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before
Shepard: New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in this turian I simply didn't see
Joker: Well, who'd have thought?
Kelly: Well, bless my soul
Mordin: Impossible to have known
Jack: ****, who indeed?
Chakwas: And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?
EDI: 'Love' is peculiar
Together: We'll wait and see a few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before
Legion: Consensus reached, there's something there that wasn't there before
Kelly: There may be something there that wasn't there before
Jacob: What? With that cuttlebone?
Shepard: Shut up, Jacob. Important people are singing.
I'm so sorry. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
You are so awesome for this. I didn't get to say in the old thread but BatB was a huge part of my childhood too. I distinctly remember seeing it in the theater at age 6 and crying when you think the beast is dead, and feeling self conscious for crying in public. Might have been the first time a movie made me cry in...like...an adult way. No, I think that was the Land Before Time. But definitely one of the first.
Also, Garrus love gets shut down around 160 posts but Tali thread is allowed to run to oh 8 GAJILLION before they finally force version three? Partial treatment not cool! The only explanation is that a single page of Garrus contains a huge multiple of the amount of awesome in a page of any other forum.

Been posted here (on Garrus 1.0) yet? I just found out about this.
Second-wave action figures: Garrus, Legion, Miranda, and Mordin.
(Mordin is a pleasant surprise IMO.)
