Yeah I was really bothered by the Jacob thing, I don't know if it was Jennifer Hale who was overracting or whether they told her to talk like that, she's usually great at balancing casual-sounding-ness with flirty disposition.

The animators didn't help either.  So either they were making the performance in response to Hale's line reading or that was just the direction everyone was told to go with.

Well, you know... a sexually confident woman automatically equals S. L. U. T, right?

No, but it just narrows down your role play options when she acts in a very direct way without any indication from you.

It doesn't help that Shepard doesn't act or talk like that anywhere else in either game. Which makes me question, why did they take that direction or were they really that oblivious to how ridiculous it was?

edit: no offense to any Jacobmancers/priiizes intended.  I'm sure there are some out there.  I like Jacob just fine, just not Shepard when she talks to him.

I really hope it's just obliviousness.

No lol, don't twist my words. There's a classy way to go about seducing a man confidently, and... What Shepard does ingame... Isn't.

I don't mind that much, it doesn't go anywhere, I just wish I had the option to talk normally to Jacob because I'm not interested in him.

Why they did it, I don't know. Maybe they did it on purpose.

We can only be happy Garrus' romance was handled well.

That's a good attitude to have Kelly.

No seriously though yes. Thank you Bioware.

Sorry, that was entirely tongue in cheek and sarcastic.

It's just usually the interpretation most put on a sexually confident woman's actions and what I wonder if they were going for here with Jacob.

Honestly the way she talks to Jacob didn't bother me. I laughed and thought my Shepard looked cute flirting like that. But it does take me out of the game. She's just a character and a voice doing an animation, not acting the way I would have her act.

Noooooo, they're screwing with us.

But yes, we can agree they handled the Garrus romance extremely well.  Which is why we are all here, yes?

I'll stick with my theory that all of Bioware's writers were on vacation when they wrote the Jacob romance. So, they hired porn writers.

Now that would be funny. "I'm here to check the plumbing on your fish tank, ma'am."

"I've got a fish for you right here."

There's another Kelly?! *arms Kelly gun* There are far too many.

Tongue in cheek, so difficult to realise on the internet. Because the computer screen reduces our IQ by 75% permanently. Derp.

I haven't bothered looking into how Shepard talks to Jacob, actually. Absolutely no interest in him as a character or LI.

Garrus is amazing.

...This is going to be the third time I posted this:

Flammie: I love that comic. It -was- my favorite...until I saw the one someone did for Thane/FemShep and "Oh God I'm tripping balls!" Epic comic win. Honestly, who came up with the Drell skin contact causing hallucinations thing? That feels like fanfic bait to me.

And Jacob: Even my brother, who played a FemShep, tried to romance Jacob and failed to be able to. Jacob's love is a battlefield. *Lame*

Mordin warns against licking Thane as his sweat is hallucinogenic to humans, or something.  I'll let you know in a few weeks when I get through with Awakenings and then play that romance.

Also, I'm really trying to figure out how to import a motivational from that thread over here. I can't stop laughing at it.

This has probably been posted before, but I've finally given up trying to keep up with this thread.

Now, you might remember that I'm not the biggest Thane fangirl in the world (still like him though!), but I'm kinda in love with this picture right now. It contains a fair amount of badass.
