One thing I liked about Thane in my playthroughs is synchronicity.

There is him-the sniper, the target, the well-aligned shot waiting to be fired, the girl who stands in the way of his bullet. The girl refuses to move, he falls in love, the target walks away unharmed.

And then, on the Citadel, there's another sniper, another target, another well-aligned shot waiting to be fired. Another girl stands in the way of the bullet and refuses to move. Thane falls in love (but alas, this time it's unrequited), Sidonis walks away unharmed.

Mind = blown.

I highly doubt that was intentional, but if it was then my respect for the writers just got a lot bigger.

Completely and totally off topic, but I finally realized what it really was about Thane that made him so un-romanceable to me.

Abe Sapien had my heart first. And they look so similar to me, but Thane is not Thane, and so my heart is bitter. XD
...this is probably also why I think Thane looks like a fish.

And...yes...I did waste a whole 2 minutes of my life to make that unfunny picture.

Hehe, but... that's what made me even consider Mr. Krios...

/pats Abe...

So cute! ^.^

Anyone ever wondered how Mordin even knows that Shepard is seeing someone? I'm trying to picture Garrus approaching Mordin for love advice. Because surely, Mordin will keep it confidential, right?

Garrus> ... Er, Mordin? Got a minute?
Mordin> Am busy developing new strain of human influenza, but can talk. What do you need?
Garrus> Er, well, I... You wouldn't know anything about... This is awkward. (He tugs at his collar.) ... Is it possible for a turian and a human, to, um... have cross-species intercourse?
Mordin> Ah. Kelly. Don't recommend. Suspect may be source of scale-itch on Normandy.
Garrus> Huh? What? No, not her, it's--it's somebody else. Just--seriously, I gotta know about this.
Mordin> Can't be Miranda. Not into aliens. Not Gabby, probably dating Donnelly. Other member of crew? No, no, Vakarian too busy calibrating... Could be... No, no, no, can't be. Shepard into scars? Thought that was krogan thing. Must take notes for research. Can't be Shepard, but... can't be anyone else.
Garrus> Right, fine, it's Shepard, now just give me some advice already. This is important!
Mordin> Of course. Hormones. Believe it is possible, yes. Comfortable, maybe not. Should be careful, humans... softer than turians. Might cause damage. Allergic reactions possible. ... Easier to explain with vids. Will have EDI send to your quarters.
Garrus> You mean somebody's... with a human?
Mordin> Humans strangely xenophilic. Seems strange, reproductive success unlikely with alien species. Impossible with turian. Must be stress factors. Vids will help. Remember, be careful.
Garrus> (turns to leave)
Mordin> Don't let Grunt see vids. Young mind, impressionable.
Garrus> ... I did not want to know that.

I guess you could call this my "why Garrus never watched those vids, part 2."  (First one being--Grunt stole his porn.  And wouldn't give it back 'cause he didn't want his battlemaster sullying herself with a turian.)

This was an epic prequel.

Guys, I have to ask...how is our Garrus love being so badly beaten by team Tali?? I mean, Garrus, in my opinion, is superior to the quarian in EVERY way...no?

Was ist going on??

I don't know if I'm the only person, but the Tali thread eats my computer alive.  Every time I try to load it, my internet just gives up and my browser quits.  I don't know if they have massive GIFs or what on that front page, but whatever it is it gives my computer a serious case of the DO NOT WANTs.

Oh man, these death compilations are depressing.

I can't seem to find one with Garrus getting impaled though. Maybe that's for the best. No need to traumatize myself.

Heh.  If you're trying to mock me:  I don't find Garrus attractive.  I like to see/talk about the romance 'cause it's cute and also because it amuses me greatly, although I'm well aware that it's approximately 100% improbable given the likelihood that should alien life exist in a complex form, it wouldn't be remotely humanoid, for starters--and if it were, the probability of its being able to mate with a human... well, let's not go into that.  But, this is fiction and I'm cool with Garrus having his fun with Shepard in a game.  I'm a fan of Garrus in general.  His backstory and his personality are what make me like him so well.  The way I see it, the only human who'd ever have a chance at him is Shepard--and I am not Shepard, nor would I wish to be.

Welcome to the Garrus Love and Adoration v.2 thread, here are your free epics! (That got a good belly laugh out of me!)

(Gabby and Donnelly - sp? - are cousins BTW. Not that this necessarily precludes Mordin's theory but I thought I'd mention it.)

Don't do it. But take my advice and make sure you always run with loyalty/ship upgrades. People not doing it out of curiosity will end up crying themselves to sleep that very night (Garrus fans especially, good god what was I thinking)

RE: Death Compilation - After seeing that and the second one, I realized... Just about everyone has a variation of the same exact line for their final words, even Tali. "There were too many" and "shields couldn't hold up"... Is it just me, or were Garrus' final words WAY more personal? T_T <3

Where was this said? They have drastically different regional accents for family members, and from their dialogues I assumed they met in college.

Yeah, seeing it with Thane is pretty O_O in of itself, I think watching Garrus get the Wash treatment would horrify me into a coma.

I...kind of thought the Death Compilation video was hilarious. Maybe it's just because it's a compilation. All the deaths in this fashion seemed lees dramatic and mortifying and were instead kind of...campy.

Did someone mention Wash? Excuse me while I shed some tears and pray that it does not become the inevitable for Joker in ME3. DON'T make this happen, BIOWARE!

Where is the source for this?  I've heard it all over the place but I can't seem to figure out where it comes from.  If I had actual confirmation I could feel good about ceasing my relentless shipping, but this uncertainty is killing me.

Personally I'm hoping they don't make the series end final by making Shepard die regardless what you make him/her do.  I also hold out some hope that even though it's a trilogy, maybe they could use the same universe for another stand-alone or series of games.  I mean really, it's too fleshed-out now to not play with some more.  We're all gonna want to go grab a turian, quarian, and salarian and try to save the galaxy again someday, and sooner or later the software will be too obsolete to play on our shiny new PCs.

I'm not sure lol!Garrus qualifies as a meme (yet), but it so should.

I didn't even notice the Wash comparison with Thane's impaling until it was mentioned, but it's totally similar. No chance to say goodbye or anything. ::weep:: But yes, no comparisons to Joker and Wash, please! Though, probably the main reason I'd actually do a Joker/Shep LI if it was offered is because they'd totally be Wash/Zoe, which would be awesome ... But anyway, back to Garrus. xD

Dev quote I believe, though as near as I can tell in game they are just best friends. I know it's referenced elsewhere, but their voice actors aren't (yet). They both sound super familiar though.

I know siblings with radically different accents - Navy brats and Chair Force kids mostly. The Cajun older bro and the very proper Brit little sister duo are always a riot at parties. (It took me about a month before I figured out they weren't putting on airs, that those were their real accents based on where they spent their elementary school years. Boy did I feel silly.) Heck, my own brother has a rich Southern (US) accent whereas I'm told I sound like I learned to speak in a news studio. (Not sure that's good or bad.)

Donnelly sounds like a Newfie to me and Gabby sounds like any gal I've run to in most of Alberta. But to bring this post back full circle...

...anyone else think Garrus would've won 500 credits playing cards with the engineers? Or do you think he'd have been all stuffaluphagus and hung back? I see him as the type who only plays cards to lose - like on purpose - because when people are winning your money they talk a lot and that'd be a dandy way for Garrus to get intel.

I cannot find any evidence of Gabby and Kenneth being cousins. Heck, google results actually turned up the dialogue Brass_Buckles wrote in this thread. The wiki doesn't mention them being related either, only that they are "best friends" and studied together. But...I haven't been fond of the wiki since they posted allegations that pursuing the Garrus love interest sub-plot is non-paragon. What a stupid thing to mention in his article considering it applies to ALL of ME2's love interests.

First of all, LOL. Second, I don't know if he'd win, but he seems like a betting man (doesn't he suggest you blow some money on the Flux machines when you go there?). I don't think he'd play to lose, he's probably got a bit of a competitive streak. I imagine he'd... break even?

I personally don't think Garrus would have a good poker face. I have this image in my head of him getting excited over a straight flush and his mandibles won't stop twitching...

You mean Google is that fast?  It hasn't been typed up for more than a couple hours.  Color me impressed.

And oh geeze.  I don't think romantic interests are either paragon or renegade.  You choose which they are by how you direct that character to behave.  Although it's possible that Garrus turns into the next Saren by ME3.  All through his loyalty quest I kept thinking, "There should be dialogue to tell Garrus that he is sounding more and more like Saren.  Is that what he wants to become?"

Awww, that'd be adorable. <3

I actually disagree though, I think he'd have a pretty good poker face, especially up against non-turians.. But he'd have terrible luck, so it'd even out. xD

Also! I found this on devart during another Garrus search... http://iridion22.dev...e-1-2-155103829

Though I don't think Garrus' markings are made to come off that easy, it's a cute idea. His expression is priceless. <3
