Welp, completed my very first ME2 playthrough yesterday. Seeing as Garrus has a huge chunk of the good lines, has a great voice, and is honestly one of the characters I could most see being friends with.. took the plunge and romanced him. He's so cute! I do kinda wish it started differently, though... although all the romances in ME2 seem to start with Shep being a pretty aggressive pursuer. I'm definitely carrying this over to ME3, so hopefully they have a happy ending.
Most of us seem to wish it started differently. After a lot of intense over-thinking I've accepted it though; because I think it's more of a "Oh, boy, how do I approach this topic..." thing rather than a "I'M MUNNA JUMP YOUS BONEZ!" thing.
Think about it. They've been friends for a very long time, they're close, neither of them really know what to do about this new thing. I feel like the only way they can get past that ginormous elephant in the room (HI, I THINK I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU, ALIEN BEST FRIEND.) is to focus on the sexual side rather than the emotional side. That's a tough topic to breach.
When I see that romance I don't see Shepard suddenly becoming a sex-kitten with a taste for turians, or Shepard suddenly becoming MegaHorny for Garrus...I see it as two people who have a sense of humor trying to make the topic easier to approach by bringing a shallower side to it, even though they both know it's something more.

I wish we'd gotten to choose whether we want the dress or tux. My Shep doesn't do dresses, and when she does it always ends like this. Imagine how awkward that's for Garrus, he'll be in no place to optimise firing algorithms after that conversation.
Heh. I actually don't mind Shepard in a dress because she strikes me as someone who would feel so disjointed while in it. She's so used to her armour and military casuals, adjusting her movements to a dress is a foreign concept. I mean, if they're going to keep the stupid male Shepard walk and sitting animations for her, that interpretation makes sense to me.

I uploaded my texmods to the site today social.bioware.com/362/#bw_projects
Also cleaned up the armor texture a bit. No more scorching on the front bits.

Most certainly this. Also, you gotta think, Shep already died once, the Galaxy is on the cusp of total obliteration, and they're on a mission that's basically suicide. I feel like her forward manner really brings out the exigence of the situation. There's no time for games, just live for the moment. Also, she's a marine. They're (many that I know personally anyway) blunt as spoons
Edit: THANK YOU ELE!

Do they need time to load? The download option isn't clickable and there are no files under your projects.ELE08 wrote...

Also, as for her being so much more aggressive in ME2, I liked that I didn't have anybody just assuming I was into them. It was a lot easier to accidentally mislead Ashley, Kaiden or Liara than anyone in ME2. You're given obvious dialogue choices and when she says them it's -very clear- what message you've sent.
Plus her flirty animations are hot.

The download option isn't clickable on the description for me either, but it shows up under the file tab. Tested it and it works for me and shows as having been downloaded by others. So hopefully it should be up and working now. If not maybe wait a bit and refresh?

'twas my disturbing humour. I actually hate getting hurt, strangely enough. I probably hate getting dirty more, though. Which should probably be the other way around.
Yeah, I've been pretty wary of Kaidan and Liara thinking I'm into them. I've managed to dissuade Liara, but I'm not sure if Kaidan is planning to do anything to me. Eh, I think I'm going to Virmire him, anyway. Not because I'm worried he's into me, mind.
But yeah, I guess it's good and bad that you can just start it like a light switch in ME2. In terms of Garrus, Shepard does seem to move a little quickly, but eh, there's a suicide mission coming up, and Garrus is already a pretty good friend.
I do kind of think "Alright, where the hell did that line come from? Not something that's immediately spur of the moment," when Shepard told Garrus that they could relieve stress together. I do agree with siltsonata's points, though.
I don't have the PC version, but I really like what I've seen of your work so far, ELE08.

Well, you know... a hard bitten soldier girl and a geeky biotic man would have TOTALLY similar galactic viewpoints. <_<
Anyway.... I'm not bitter. I promise. Garrus!

Me:
Garrus:I, ah...i din't think you'd feel like sparring, commander.
*Not what i meant option pops up*
Me:
Shepard: How about we skipped right to the tiebreaker where we could test your reach...and my flexibility.
Me:
Garrus: oh!...hm...never knew that you had a weakness for men with scars
Garrus: Well, why the hell not? there is no person in this galaxy that i respect more than you.
Garrus:If we can figure out a way to make it work, then yeah, definately.
*Shepard passed by Garrus and walked out of the room*
Me:
Yeah, she is sooo blunt on this kind of talk....maybe i should learn a thing or two from her . <_<
