Am I alone in thinking that it's too bad you don't get a chance to have the casual once and done with some of the "LI"s?
Like... it's weird. My MainShep kept her self LI free for Garrus in game the second. But honestly... she'd probably have tapped Alenko because she's a hot blooded woman and well, it's just sex. But it's like the implications are so much more... I dunno, I'm contemplating making the "unfaithful" run through as my main, just to see if you actually get to tell Alenko he's full of it in ME3...
I need to stop pondering... nyar!
Unfortunately, you can't do that because all the ME1 LI's are in it for the long haul. I only know what Kaidan says, but I don't imagine the others are too different.

Oh my god, for some reason I felt a compulsion to do every option in Alistair's conversations and that meant being horribly cruel to him on a regular basis. I'd feel so bad. Sure I'd reload but I still remembered his expression the moment I broke his heart over and over again. Maybe I didn't deserve to have him propose to me properly.
Good lord, I remember when I did that alternative PT.

That about sums up what my poor elf felt.

My main is just how I would act in Shepard's position. It feels much more poignant that way when I play the game. I also think that ideally for the romances, Shepard should not have had anyone else. It's particularly important for Tali IMO, but I'm not sure abotu Garrus.silentstephi wrote...

I have to wonder what iota of justification Kaidan would have attacking Shepard for cheating. Especially after his email was basically him saying that maybe you can get back together. Then again no one has to act rational in relationships.

I thought the paragon/renegading (so to speak) of Alistair in DA was poorly handled. No one could have forseen that something so unassuming would have such dire consequences. It would be better if the dialogue options alluded more to it.Sialater wrote...

Something like
[Persuade] We're your friends Alistair
Let's go.
[Persuade] Everyone is out for themselves.
Should be better worded of course, but I think it's important that the structure is something like this so the player gets the impression that they're actually changing something.

42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything.
Therefore, the answer to your question is 42.

I think it's perfectly easy to think of that time with Alenko as just sex. Sure, the reunion on Horizon is tense, but breakups tend to be messy.

I figure Shepard's aggressive behavior when starting the Garrus romance can largely be explained by the fact that she died once already, and could die again on the suicide mission. That kind of situation can make anyone behave in a way that they normally wouldn't.
Plus, it fits my MainShep anyway. She is terrible at expressing herself properly when it comes to emotion.

For the most part, my MainShep acts in ways that I'd like to act. So it's easier for me to empathize with her.
In this case... I find it hard to believe that my BAMF space marine would have been celebate for all of game the first. Ok, so Kaiden's looking for more, so he's a no go, I guess I'm just missing the chance for something more casual your Shepard can partake in. Something that may get a mention but doesn't detract from the main story. And before you think it, Sha'ira doesn't count. Not that my Shep tapped that. She didn't. Asari freak her the F out.
Feh, I can think of some really fun plot bunnies to expound upon here. But suffice to say, if Garrus can have his recon scout, why can't Shep have her sentinel?

Anora's speech before the final battle with the Archdemon is SO terrible compared to Alistair's. He handles his position surprisingly well, also.MarginalBeast wrote...
I'm very glad I made Anora queen.
Luckily for those who like Alistair, it's possible for making mods with happy endings will mutilating the story too much.

So when I play ME2 again, can I go back every level of the relationship and she'll say new things, or does she only say thing per playthrough and that's it? Then again she's only been out for 2 days, maybe no one knows.
P.S. Don't tell me what she actually says for each LI, rather not know.

She comments two times, once on the fact you're hooking up with someone and once on the romance scene.

...The only person I can think of in ME1 that counts as casual is the asari consort, but I haven't actually tried it, so I don't know if that counts.
Alistair sounds interesting.
In terms of Garrus groups, they're all quite inactive. I think the most active is Garrus Vakarian Fans, and that's pretty slow, too.
How's the Garrus-as-main-character going, Ray? That picture's hilarious. Disembodied, but not monstrous. Love the silly helmet position and head tilt.
I don't really have much input on Shepard's character. I don't honestly see any of the characters, even those I create, as me, but just a seperate person, and I see how that person's personality develops. I don't think it should be tied to who I am, even though I have the person do and say things I want.

She says one comment when you're romancing them and one comment after you've slept with them. She will also mention something if you break up with them or if you reject them at the final scene.

That might have something to do with being male and playing a female avatar, flammie. Just saying.Flammie wrote...

It's hard to play a different Shepard of the same gender as my main because I would see it as going against the canon. I also think the flow from ME2 to ME3 would be better for me if I refrain from playing multiple Shepards at least until I finish ME3 with the canon.

I prefer calling it the romance scene. There's ambiguity with the Garrus/Thane/Tali/Jack (paragon) romances at least.MarginalBeast wrote...

Thanks for the info all. Just one more question though.
Let's say I do this.
1. Enter the relationship with someone.
2. Talk to Kasumi, she comments.
3. Do a mission.
4. Enter the second stage of the relationship.
Does Kasumi comment again, or did I already use up the reference from her? If anyone knows.

Alistair is a sweetie. Who I hate. Stupid puppy. GUH.
As for getting the head and body to work on the Normandy, I have an idea, and am waiting on Xeyska to help me test it out. Will have to wait and see if there is hope. My optimism is waning, though.
And I can't say, Collider. At this point I've only played her post-suicide mission. Seems to me I'll only be getting that one "You and so and so seem to have a thing" comment.
