"Needless to say, their talons on both their feet and hands seem capable of ripping flesh. "
Considering that the armors of Turians are made by them (or could be designed, I don't know), they should know how sharp their talons are and make armors that would be more thick at those places no?

Hey, me too. Only my reaction wasn't anything near as severe as yours. My lip swelled up like I had been hit in the mouth with a baseball and my esophagus swelled almost shut (but not my whole pharynx--could still breathe). Also, my skin got painful and itchy and later blistered. I'm never going near those things again!
I honestly can't imagine any of those things happening in a Garrus-related context.

I don't think Bioware are going to show an allergic reaction, even if it did happen. But, I think we're talking about it a bit too much. It's emphasised a lot, but it's not likely.
I don't think turians can scratch through their armour, so I doubt it's much of a consideration, unless it's light armour. Their talons could be reinforced, but shouldn't be moreso than the rest of their body, because that will be where most of the bullets are likely to go.
Not quite sure what you mean by that, Collider.

It's not like they're going to start ME3 and Shepard has a zillion scars...I don't think anyone would enjoy or should expect Garrus' romance in ME3 to be just about the minimal complications.Flammie wrote...

Anfweafaefa Shock? Keep any liquids out of Shepard's body.
Slicing? Garrus can wear something on top of his arm/leg scythes or just be careful.
Rash? Brave it or make sure you have some sort of barrier.

Start new game. Import character. Face reveal - HORRIFIC SCARRING.
Garrus embarrassed cough. No one mentions it again.

Sorry... I really couldn't resist after reading everyones comments...
Anyways, I agree with Collider. I really don't think Bioware wants to take the time to emphasize and detail out the complications in having a turian and human together. They'll leave that for the inquisitive fans like us to figure it out. Also, I think the main point they're trying to make with the relationship between Garrus and Shepard, is that love knows no bounds.

I can imagine complications too. According to the codex Turians have some sharp edges on their arms and legs. I can imagine that if Garrus isn't careful he could cut Shepard. Then there's also the chafing thing. I'm just glad that the relationship won't end because someone is allergic to someone. That would be annoying and depressing, one of the greatest romances ending because someone could die because of it. Then there's also the social complications. There's all the human bigots like that news reporter and then there's the Turians too. However I think it's humans that will get more involved in that. Garrus isn't exactly the best known Turian.
As depressing as it is, these kinds of allergies can and do happen (to human-human couples):

And then you remember that you imported a Renegade.
But, Garrus. Garrus, But. Garrus's Butt.
Yes, I so did repeat that.

Probably not. Do you want a space hamster that pukes Smarties, instead?

Agreed, at least we know this won't happen with Garrus. It would be very disappointing to see the relationship end because of an allergy.

What is wrong with you, I would trade Urz for nothing. Not even a puppy that poops starbursts. Not even a puppy that poops salt and vinegar chips.
(Sidenote: I am now starving despite having talked about poop.)

What about trading Urz for an Urz that poops Starbursts and pukes out Salt and Vinegar "Chips"?
Bioware aren't likely to bring about romance conflicts that can't be resolved. So it'll probably be social and emotional issues, mainly. So unless they include some sort of scene where Shepard gets implanted to stop allergies from Garrus or something, I doubt they're going to play on the allergies very much other than emphasise and talk about it a lot.
Turian... boot... camp...? What's that? Is that some sort of... Oh. Was I still meant to be in there..? ...Oh... Oh. OH S-*runs*

*SHEPARD is back on the Citadel, trying to prove to the Councilors once and for all that Reapers do indeed exist. She bravely steps into the hall where the Council is located, followed by GARRUS and MORDIN, victoriously holding up the Harbinger evidence.*
ASARI COUNCILOR: Shepard, this is undeniable proof that -
ANDERSON: OH MY GOD, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE!?

ANDERSON: No, seriously! It looks horrible! Shepard, tell us what happened, quick!
SHEPARD: Well, I...uh...got into this crazy fight, and-
*SHEPARD looks at GARRUS, who bows his head in shame.*
SHEPARD: ...um, yeah. I'll just go and -
*MORDIN steps forward and clears his throat.*
MORDIN: Allergic reaction obviously caused by ingestion of turian tissue. Told her not to. Ignored my advice. Paid the consequences.
SHEPARD: DAMN YOU AND YOUR BLABBERING MOUTH, MORDIN! NO MORE COFFEE FOR YOU!
*AWKWARD SILENCE.*
GARRUS: Let's just...forget this ever happened.
ASARI COUNCILOR: Yeah, let's.

You're a freaking awesome parent!!! You're kids don't even know how lucky they are!!! Seriously... So jealous... My parents just give me blank stares when I get all excited about Garrus... I'd love it if you adopted me, even though I'm not a kid anymore =P

That's ok. I saw bloody horror movies and played games like this when I was 8 years old. I am a perfectly sane and kind person. I don't think Garrus throwing Harkin around would do much damage.
Edit: salt and vinegar =

Aww...c'mon over, there's always room for one more on the elevator
(um...it'll be shady if you're older than me and I adopt you, however)
And I guess my kids feel lucky they have a hopeless gaming addict for a parent...They went outside to play for 4 straight hours the other day...Guess what I was doing? And the first guess doesn't count.
Yup, I was holed up in the basement playing games, reading fanfic, and on this board.
Completely unrelated true fact: I just found out I have a vitamin D deficiency.

If you've seen some of the things people will have sex with just because they can (or get paid to)... honestly, in comparison a Turian doesn't look all that bad. I'm not going to type some of the things that came to mind. Just let me comment that unless you cut a major artery during sex, there's no reason to stop. ERs have seen it all before.
