Eh, catching up is nice to do when you have the time, but it's not necessary: Most topics don't go on for pages, so the first few pages will do, normally.

Is Revelation worth getting?

I haven't seen that idea come up in this thread, actually, but I don't think it'll happen. Garrus wouldn't go to Saren's levels, definitely. Shepard does say it, but I think that may be a bit extreme.

Catching up does take a bit of effort sometimes, but usually I just do some creative skimming.

But the mutant Garrus is so lulzy... it's epic XD

And Flammie, Revelation is worth getting if you want a bit more ME knowledge, but since it's cannon it will warp your view of Sarren.

Sarren in the GAME was someone you thought started with good intentions and became misguided.

Sarren in the novels is a ruthless anti human azzhat. Any sympathy I might have had for him at the end of game one goes out the window when you get the book characterization.

Either way. I cannot get behind the idea that, OMG if you let Garrus go Renegade, he's going to turn into Sarren. Just. Not. Happening.

What sucks is the few cinematic touches they give you with Sarren's sculpture in Kasumi's mission have so much more meaning if you discount the book. /sigh

I've been considering picking up the books when money allows but... hearing that makes me sad. I mean, esp since I paragon'ed the HELL out of Saren in every conversation(I was confused when people told me they had a hard time fighting him that many times and I was like "Hu-wha? I barely fought him at all until he went all dead-zombie on me....") and felt really bad for him at the end. Yeah, he was a putz, but he put a bullet through his own brain to try to stop it. (In my games at least...) The idea that the book will just make me hate him makes me sad. :{

I just go through every single post up to the most recent one, starting from when I last left. Which takes ages. But it's nice.

I get disturbed by mutant Garrus, I laugh at mutant Garrus. Then I just forget about mutant Garrus. It's all good.

I guess when you consider the book's characterisation of Saren, it seems a lot less likely, maybe impossible, that Garrus will ever become like him. The book sounds interesting, though I'm a little worried because of what we've seen of Saren in ME1, and how you say that image is crushed in the book.

As I've said in Collider's group, I don't think he'd become Saren. I think he could become like Zaeed, though. Chasing down someone who had wronged him at all costs, for as long as it takes. Zaeed's a pretty cool character, but that's a sad life.

some of the elevator conversations from ME1, every time we got in an
elevator in real life, for the next 4 months they would automatically
arrange themselves in the elevator behind me like your squadmates stand
in the game.

Here you go.


"Most of the proteins you consume are oriented the same direction. Their

The toxicity interpretations are speculative at best, but consuming
specific dextro proteins could cause malfunctions in a levo-based
creature's lowest level digestion mechanisms, producing at best the
wrong and at worst deadly compounds, but for the most part the enzymes
associated with a protein are biased to only that protein like a glove.
There are some dextro-amino acids identified that would be toxic to a
levo-based creature, but these are high-complexity with no naturally
occurring levo variants anyway.



Most 'sweet' tasting things, sugars, are actually dextro variants.



Spearmint leaves actually contain both levo and dextro variants of their
amino acids.



For the most part, incompatible amino acids would simply be ignored, and
actually tasteless.



What this means for the guys:

Don't give Tali chocolate, it will taste like pure cocoa.



What this means for the ladies:

Garrus will taste like liquid sugar. Screw what Mordin says.

Why, why, why?! Did that need reposting? lol (I had almost gotten it out of my head....) The Phatom Limb is a jerk. Garrus would kick his ass! (then, he and Brock Sampson would go for a beer, and lament that by teaming up they had managed to destroy pretty much every bad-guy in the universe in a matter of days, leaving them both a tad bored.)

I dunno... I think her plates are too plate-like, too rigid-looking.
