So weird to see such clinical drawings.  And shutup arrows, I'll believe what I want to!

If you can get that Garrus model working on the Normandy, imagine the possibilities. Romance Tali as Legion, lol...

I now have a whole new mental image when listening to this song... But I like it :D

Anyways, I've found another reason why I love Garrus... His awesomeness and inspiration just helped me win another twitter challenge... Thank you Garrus for being so helplessly cute and romantic.

Sweet tasting Garrus makes me think of this song www.youtube.com/watch

YES!!! That song is absolutely perfect for Garrus...

Hmm. I like that painting, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the plating. That said, a female turian with no breasts? But but but...how will we be able to tell they're female? Shut up, their voices aren't a part of their visual appeal! (No boobs? I like it)

Maybe could fit Garrus's feelings toward Shepard? www.youtube.com/watch

Oh I dunno, we might have a chance of non-boobage.  I mean, don't pretty much all of the alien fanboys HAVE their tru wuvs with alien breasts already?  Tali, plus the entire Asari race... I mean, most of the people who NEEEEEED to see female turians are us and people who actually like thinking about the science and biology of the series.

I don't think there are too many guys who saw Garrus and gasped, "SWEET GOD I NEED TO SEE THE FEMALE VERSION OF THAT SO I CAN NAIL IT!" (Hm, then again...)

Point being, not too many people actually want bewbs on turians at this point.  We might have a chance.

(And now I leave you to travel this weekend.  Thread, do not do anything too awesome that I'll miss out on while I'm gone.)

It's a very nice drawing, but I consider it wrong on many levels.  First, reach and flexibility.  Rock like protrusions do not strike me as the correct evolutionary path for a raptor-like species known for speed.  Also, the talons are not right - Saren's hands show what the talons on a Turian look like without gloves.  Ditto for feet; Saren isn't wearing full gloves or boots, and his cybernetic arm is the most likely built on the same outline as a Turian one.
I also strongly disagree with 'Internal' but we won't have that discussion against lest we get called out for being scientific perverts again.
I do agree that the differences between a male and female Turian would be much less marked than it is between Humans.  It also strikes me as unlikely that Turian females carry their eggs to full term internally; they have no bellybuttons.  Humans and Asari are apparently unique in that respect.  Turians, like lizards (and Salarians) are probably egg-layers rather than egg-bearers.  Therefore, there would be no reason for female Turians to have a markedly different body shape from males around the hips or breasts.  The main difference would be physical size.
I also don't think they evolved from quadrapeds.  That's just my opinion, though.  No need to go spreading it around.

Belly buttons only exist because of what we do to the umbilical cord.  Cats and dogs, for instance, have umbilical cords but don't have belly buttons.  The mom snips it off with her teeth and it just scabs over.   We have belly buttons because we don't feel like chewing on afterbirth and just tie the thing off.  That suggests something similar for asari.  But turians have WAY sharper teeth than we do.  The absense of an umbilical cord scar (belly button) does not automatically indicate an egg birth.

Just pointing out the logical fallacy.   :D :innocent:  We don't know that they don't have belly buttons.  We have no "official" artwork.

Would Turians even have breasts? Ours exist for lactation, but for some reason Turians don't strike me as a milk-producing species (maybe it's the bird thing). Then there's their mouths - I can't see those mandibles lending themselves to suckling very well. I'd imagine baby Turians being more of the 'eat reguritated mush' variety. So boobs on a Turian would be...illogical. IMO

Have a fun weekend.

Edit: Did I just type 'mandibles' and 'suckling' in the same sentence? Oh lor', what have you guys turned me into?

Yes- I beleive I saw something once about only 'placental' mammals having belly buttons? Well, the turian in the bachelor party obviously saw it as an alien thing, anyways. "Humans and asari have them," I believe was the human's wording. Salarians come from eggs, but turians....who knows?

Any biology majors or wikipedia crawlers wanna weigh in?

Well if they're relatively similar to avian and reptilian species, biology says they lay eggs... However they could also be badass like the platypus and defy all logic. :D Of course we're also dealing with a species with a different DNA type so that may also add some leeway in deciphering their reproduction process.

So, I guess it's up to BioWare to decide and us to ponder =/

Dogs and cats are placental mammals.  Ever seen a belly button on a puppy?

Krogans are lizards and give live births and has no belly buttons. The major logica fallacy is IMO comparing earth taxonomy to alien taxonomy. Also I think a bachelor party was a gag. Turians became more "mammalian" since Garrus romance and I think devs will leave it that way. I believe they were designed as avians/reptiles/something to look cool, but they had to change concept to make romance work. I can bet that we won't even see a Turian female in ME series.

And again - bachelor party was a GAG.

Even if they nurse young I don't think they should have breasts. From mammalian species only hominids have breasts.  My 0,2$

About Turians not being mammals - in ME 1 on the planet where you can recruit Liara (forgot the name). Wrex says something along the lines of "It could be 50 degrees hotter before I'm giong to be uncomfortable - what about you mammals?"

Jumping to conclusions: Humans, Quarians and Turians are mammals? (Garrus was the third sqadmember then - who else ;) - but expecting that they wouldn't take different recordings for each member of the crew being the third ... well, i hope you're getting what I mean)

I know there's some talk about Turians descending from birds - but are there any conformations? I can't remember reading about this in the kodex.

Of course it's absolutely possible that i missed something :P

PS: Please excuse any typos or grammar mistakes i may have made - haven't written a text in english for a long time. :(

Yes. Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

Turians have always kind of reminded me of sharks (it's the teeth!) so it just kind of stuck with me that like most sharks, they give live birth as well. But for some reason it's also in my head that Turian babies are born ready for solid food. If that's the case, I envy turian moms. No having to wake up every 2 hours to nurse for the first 4 months...just stick a t-bone under the kid's teddy bear. Image IPB

Hope you're having fun, Cerrydd and siltsonata.

I'm interested to see female turians, but I'm not really interested in breasts.

...I know, I know. Still, it's Bioware's choice, but I doubt we're going to have very many guys crazy to get more turian breast-age.

And, I'm lacking the mental capacity to discuss more of the stuff we're discussing in the thing you discuss in.

Also... most of the videos you're posting..?

Man, I hate when people quote you and leave out the lines about "opinion" and "speculation."

Continuing on with my line of random speculation and opinion. The last line of a bachelor party was obviously a gag; but that doesn't mean the first parts were untrue.... concept art, blah blah blah.... moving on.

Turians were mentioned as being warmblooded in ME. They also sweat, and have a sense of smell. I don't think they can be strictly classed as mammals. I'm just against Turian boobies, it seems so silly. Also, nursing and internal gestation would mean that Turian females would be unable to serve in any other capacity for years. That just seems so inefficient.

Being communally raised and hatched in clutches seems much more in keeping with the Turian group mentality.

Again, just my opinion, no need to go spreading it around. It's all a completely pointless discussion, in the end.

Here you go. Nice, whole quote.

So you believe that woman who has kids can't serve society in other capacity. Nice... Thanks a lot=]  We don't know what is the recquirement service for Turian females. Maybe bearing children counts into service? Or just devs didn't think this through.  Mammals don't have boobies. Humans have boobies,  even monkeys don't have them unless they nurse.  I have no idea what Turians are, I believe devs also. It was easier, when Garrus wasn't LI :) Imo there are no silly ideas on the subject, becasue everything is plausible. It's a matter of faith. It is higly probable that developers will just slap boobs onto Turian to make it female, just stating trend in s-f:whistle:
