I always wondered why Garrus was so concerned with repairing the Mako all the time. The Normandy isn't really his ship, and most of the rest of the crew (except Kaiden, who does...something) seem ot just stand about on their off time, but not Garrus. No, he feels compelled to tinker with the Mako lots. Now, is this because Shepard is an awful driver and he feels like he needs to repair it to stop them all from dying, or do you think it's something else, some deep, dark, inner turmoil secret... (like taking his mind off the fact that he is attracted to his commanding officer. ) lol

Maybe that's why he feels the need to calibrate so much. No Mako to work on, what else is he gonna do? Clearly the man likes to keep his hands busy.

But overall I think Garrus is the type that feels the impulse to always be doing something to prove and justify himself.

Every time I hear the "priiiiiiiiiiize" quote, it makes me want to create a freaking ugly FemShep and romance Jacob with her, just to see if she's still worth the heavy riiiiiiiiiiiisk for him when her nose covers half her face.

I didn't love the whole book, but the whole second half is so full of Saren villainous badassery that my head almost exploded with glee.  He is seriously THE most evil character I've ever seen.  I was in awe of how completely horrendous a person he was--I REALLY want a prequel to that book where we see him in action more and find out how he ended up like...that.

When I bought Revelation, I read all the parts about Saren that first day. I hardly ever read so much at once, but Saren is just that awesome. Now I want another prequel book with more Saren.

...If both of our Shepards bought Revelation in ME2, put off important missions to read it, and went from super happy from the Saren awesomeness to really sad because they just remembered he's dead now, they would have another thing in common. xD (I can just see the rumors going around my Shepard's Normandy about why she was so upset after Saren killed himself. "It's because of all the human lives that were lost in battle! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.")

@janeym27: That's what I'm going to do in some future playthroughs, make Sidonis talk and then let Garrus kill him. I didn't even know it was a possibility during my first playthrough, but now that I've read about it, that option seems perfect for a few of my Shepards.

About the Mako... I've always imagined Garrus being nervous every time Shepard drives, but never saying anything about it. xD Wrex definitely enjoys her crazy driving though - seriously, he made comments about it in my game. When I flipped the Mako over a mountain, he said something like "Finally, some action!" and he said "I guess they deserved it." after accidentally driving over some of the wildlife.

It's interesting to note that Garrus's father is retired; either Garrus was raised mostly by his mother (he references his home being Palaven, not the Citadel) pre-retirement, or his very old father post-retirement. A few reasons for not mentioning his mom come to mind--she's dead; his parents aren't together any more or were never together at all; or next to his conflict with his father, his relationship with his mother was cordial, but nothing special, so whenever he talks about his family his father overwhelms everything.

I do hope she's not dead, ME has enough dead/absent mothers as it is.

Jumping into this line of conversation, it could also be a cultural thing.  Also, we should consider the circumstances where he mentioned his father...it was only when speaking about C-Sec and him joining it, and therefore mentioning his father would be relevant (his father having been C-Sec and a major role in influencing his life in that regard).  Perhaps he doesn't mention his mother because it wouldn't have been relevant to the conversation.  They also don't strike me as the most touchy-feely, extroverted species out there...I imagine they might keep their family private and seperate from business.

Yeah, Saren's a badass in Revelation. His sociopathy and apathy throughout knows no boundaries.

In fact, Saren's badassery was one of the best reasons I..uh, revived him in my fanfic Fail for the Lost (link in sig). Apparently, every reviewer likes it when he shouts bad action movie lines non-stop, kills random mooks for no reason at all, and gets into slightly disturbing love quadrangles with FemShep, Mordin, and Garrus. Yeah, I'm a bad person. No doubt about it.

I still have to read Revelation.. Although I've already skimmed through to read all the parts with Saren because humans bore me to death XD



However I've always been fascinated with Saren... Still don't forgive him for killing Nihlus though But he's a very dynamic character to say the least.
