You know?  I never, ever thought of this before, but it would totally fit in with Garrus's adorkable romance persona :wizard:

And as for turian females (I've said it before, but I'd really, really, *really* like to see them, I imagined them as similar to males, but slimmer basically everywhere.  IDK YMMV. ;)

I can just imagine Garrus standing there, trying to be suave.
Garrus: Your waist look very, uh... *actually looks at Shep's waist for the first time, thinking: Damn, I never noticed that before. Think fast!* ...supportive?

Also, I thought of his "supportive waist" comment. Does that mean it's a good thing for a waist to look... supportive, or does it mean Shep's waist is chunky by turian standards and he's trying to be polite?

Interesting post, Kirselia! Hmmm, I'd think it would be the former because Garrus is more of the type to omit information than to actively tell white lies --- which are both technically ways of misleading someone, but they utilize different methods. If her waist is chuncky by turian standards, then the "supportive waist" comment is incredibly vague. Many people find certain things attractive outside their social standards (re: the salarian @ the bachelor party verbalizing his physical attraction to the asari dancer), so it's hard to say.

That's completely a Garrus move. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie] Awkward and fumbly, but ultimately, cute.

Also, his human fetish comment. Does that mean turians/aliens have fetish porn about humans?

Well compared to Turian males at least Shepard's waist is quite a bit thicker (and squishier), my Femshep's starting to develop a bit of a complex, walking around with Garrus all the time, he's got a better hourglass figure than she does. Image IPB

I also thought that it would be interesting to have female Turians turn out to be larger than males, alas we have yet to see any female Turians, despite the fact that they apparently participate in military activities alongside males.

I've been having a bit of trouble trying to classify Turians though. I'm pretty sure they're warm-blooded, but are they mammals? They don't seem to have bellybuttons so they can't be placentals. Maybe the females have some kind of pouch and reproduce like Marsupials (baby crawls from birth canal to pouch), however the pouch would need to be well protected from radiation as the child would be especially vulnerable at that point, even moreso than a newborn.
Or (theory #2) maybe they're more like Monotremes, like Platypuses, mammals who lay eggs. The egg would perhaps have some kind of anti-radiation coating, and the mother would have the added freedom of being able to move around more freely than if they were actually pregnant, which could perhaps explain the gender equality present in a more militaristic society. Perhaps whole clutches of Turians are brought up together, which would help establish the values of loyalty to the group and social solidarity at a young age. Monotremes (being mammals) still have to suckle their young, so not only would you have egg-laying female Turians, you'd have egg-laying female Turians with breasts! Image IPB

Well if we have fetishes for turians, then I'm sure some aliens have fetishes for humans as well.

I was pretty miffed that the description for that issue of Fornax that I bought had no mention of Turians. It had Asari, Krogan, Quarians (male and female apparently), and even a big stupid jellyfish hogging the cover. No Turians at all, not even in the niche offshoot publications. Image IPB

Well, I cannot let this discrimination go on, I say we campaign for Turian porn in ME3. Image IPB

I like the forehead on forehead thing.. It was really cute... Made it feel like there was a real relationship between them, and not some random one night stand XD

Plus if you're looking for erotic material, you could always check at Mordin's diagrams and videos XD

Yes I agree with you wholeheartedly, and Garrus' final romance scene is one of my favourites, I was just joking around a bit, and perhaps forgot that sarcasm is hard to do on the internet. Image IPB

Lol... Sarcasm is awesome... But hard to decipher on interwebs where you can't hear tone of voice... But still awesome nonetheless XD

But omg (this is off topic) I finally won something in the auction... Stoked right now :D

And now back on topic... I <3 Garrus... :D

But how would nipples and skinplates work together?
Would they be like... radiation proof iron-nipples? Would there be the danger of eyes getting poked out?

My only gripe with the romance scene is that I can't come to grips with femShep's flirty voice... It sounds so.. cheap. And I feel bad about the paragon interrupt, she could've been a lot nicer to him.

So far as alien biology goes, no aliens have to adhere to the classifications here on earth. Turians and other alien races evolved on planets with different environments - including organisms to compete against (and competition is what drives evolution).

Bwahahaha Image IPB Yes that is exactly what Turian women should have, radiation-proof iron nipples, because us girls shouldn't be the only ones who have to deal with chafing.

The first thing I noticed about the romance scene (which I spoiled for myself two days before the game was even released) was that Garrus' idea of bow-chicka-wow-wow mood music turned out to be the Flux Song. Laughed till I cried.

I bet he got that straight from Mordin though; "Less alcohol and mood music required."
Then he brings alcohol and... mood music. Something's suspicious here :bandit:

You know, I always assumed they'd have this bird thing going, what with the interesting voices and all and that they'd have a pretty musical language and so. But then Garrus brings along the Flux music...
Maybe he assumed humans are tone-deaf and any music will do though.

Of course thay wouldn't have to be exactly one thing or the other, belonging to an entirely different ecosystem, but it's fun to spectulate on how they might be put together.
One of the things I love about the mass effect universe is how grounded in reality it is, or at least as much as it can be and still have FTL travel and hot blue alien chicks. The dextro vs levo-based DNA thing is a really cool idea (and forced me to do extra research since I'd totally forgotten highschool chem class so win/win). I enjoy fiction which inspires me to question what it talks about and inquire further.Image IPB

Well judging from the Turian "art" on display during Kasumi's loyalty mission, maybe they should stick to shooting things.

I can imagine bringing Garrus along for that. Shep and Kasumi are standing there, marveling at the David and Garrus is just all "Pff, what's the big deal? That's not art, that's just a replica of some human." then getting all teary-eyed over the amazing piece of turian sculpture
I wonder what the deal with the spaceship was though. Is it like Titanic because it crashed or because it's so famous?

Both maybe? Perhaps its only claim to fame is that it crashed so spectacularly that someone decided to create a major motion picture based on the event. I'm not surprised that it crashed though, it looked really flimsy.

Hmm, turian movies.
Great, now I started thinking about "Fleet and Flotilla".
I'm guessing that the turian equivalent of the Titanic would be less like a luxury cruise and more like a nigh indestructible dreadnought. Maybe they crashed into an asteroid with it while it was one the way to some major conflict?
Heh, okay that would be more pathetic than dramatic really.

I love that Turian-Quarian couple, the poor guy was trying really hard but not quite making it. Huh, that sounds kind of familiar, maybe all Turian men are really awkward when they're trying to be romantic.
Their conversation actually made me curious about "Fleet and Flotilla", what would the plot be? Well besides the Quarian/Turian relations part. He said it won an award, space oscars? Heh, I wonder how the in-universe movie based on ME1 was received (I think it was called "Citadel"). I like to imagine it was a total bomb, the ad was hilariously hammy.

Does anyone have screenshots of the turian art so I can see it too? xD

Anyway, I think my main Shepard would be interested in the art no matter what it looks like just because a turian made it, and I can just imagine what would happen when she sees the giant statue of Saren.

Shepard #2: Saren! :D *biotic jumps onto the statue and hugs it*

Garrus: Shepard, get down from there! You're making a scene. >.>;

Museum Security: *follows Shepard #7* Stop touching the art! *sees Shepard #2* Hey!

I would like to see Shepard watch "Citadel" and talk about how the actress looks/sounds nothing like her. xD She would point out every little difference from the way it really happened.

The best ad was that biotic amp one; "When you're next out on town with Officer Vakarian.." got my undivided attention

Maybe Fleet and Flotilla is about a quarian on her pilgrimage with a loyal turian friend, getting into wacky adventures, facing mercenaries and uncovering insidious plots while trying to deny her growing affection for said turian.
