Anyway, I think my main Shepard would be interested in the art no matter what it looks like just because a turian made it, and I can just imagine what would happen when she sees the giant statue of Saren.

You may be right, but if he was just looking for a lay then he could probably get some way easier. Quarian sex seems pretty labour intensive with regards to the preparations. Plus, from the way they talked they seemed like old friends, she was basically b*tching about her relationship, and you don't do that with just anyone.

I was actually thinking about writing a fanfic about that. Let's just say part of the dialogue included this:


*SHEPARD and GARRUS are watching an intimate love scene between FILM-KAIDAN and FILM-SHEPARD (which never happened IRL).*

FILM-SHEPARD: Oh, Kaidan! I've always loved you! Let's go to my quarters and do our thing!

FILM-KAIDAN: Oh, Shepard! I love you SO much! I never want to leave you again!

*cut to SHEPARD awkwardly staring at the screen while GARRUS sort of glares at her.*

GARRUS: You have a lot of explaining to do, Shepard.

SHEPARD: But...but...Kaidan and me never had-

Oh dear, I second Kim Shepard's idea. If it turns out to be that bad I'd want to MST the whole thing if I was Femshep.

Here's the thing. He wants the lay with her. The very fact that Quarian intimacy is dangerous is why I think he deserves even less sympathy. He's being selfish.

Not true. Sometimes you just want someone to vent to. I've had this done on me by acquaintances who were not by any stretch of the imagination old friends. It was pretty clear to me that sex was all he wanted. They would not have made the conversation about sex if the turian wanted to be in a loving, caring relationship. If that were so, they could have easily had the break up be because of problems that weren't sexual. The turian (I only say turian because I don't know his name) is just going for the rebound. It's really easy to see.

 Please write this ASAP. That particular plotbunny has been hopping around in my head ever since I heard the ad. I keep imagining Shepard attending the premiere in her little black dress with Garrus on her arm, only to discover that the film pairs her up with Kaidan (and Jacob "The Priiize" Taylor in the sequel). Which subsequantly leads to massive shipping wars on the extranet, between those who prefer "moviecanon" and "reality". The crackshippers who pair Femshep with Liara are mostly ignored.

I thought of that too, about Kaidan being the "default romance interest" in the movie. xD Poor Shepard #2 would jump out of her seat and yell "That never happened!" while Shepard #7 would respond with "What the--?! Quick, shield your eyes!"

Then she would have to tell everyone it was the turian she liked and watch their shocked/amused expressions.

A Mass Effect movie with Shepard would be ridiculous. First of all, game to movie films almost, if not always, never work. Condensing 20+ hours of video game material into a 2 hour film is clearly something most/all film have failed at. Plus everyone is going to get annoyed when Shepard does not romance the person they like. People are going to get annoyed over canon debates. Yea, just a bad idea IMO.

And yet apparently a Mass Effect movie is in the making, with stereotypical beefcake John Shepard in the lead, presumably romancing Ash, or perhaps Liara if they're feeling daring. Yes, it will suck and there will be disappointment all around.

Remember: A fictional Mass Effect movie is funny, a real one is just sad.

Yeah. Look at all the attempts to make the Halo movie thus far... (actually, though, I vaugly know the guy who is making the current attempt at it. No budget, not great script... if you're gonna go to the bother, at least do it right!)

I don't understand video game movies as a genre. Name one which, in 20 or so years, hasn't sucked! (I'm a fan of bad movies and all, but since The Room was made why does anyone else bother?)



Although, I maintain that a movie set in the ME universe (involving no characters from the current ME series) could be kind fun. The first contact war, for example...



Any way, I keep missing 'The Citadel' trailer. I get all hung up on Elcor Hamlet. lol I can imagine my main Shep being less than impressed.



"We work our butts off saving the Galaxy, and they get a bunch of TV actors with bad hair to play us? The Turian looks nothing like you, Garrus. And why is Kaiden shirtless so much?"



And, of course, being FemShep, she'll be dressed in the sexiest uniform going.

Well there was that one...thing...uhh...Tomb Raider? No, Bloodrayne? No, Alone in the Dark? *Shudder* definitely not. I recently saw the trailer for the Prince of Persia and cringed. When will they realize that videogames do not make good movies.

If they were ever going to make a ME-related movie I would want this. No squaddies or important NPCs onscreen (except Anderson I suppose), no diverging plot points, and especially no Shepard, male or female.

SHEPARD: Wait, who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have me run around in one of those Asari stripper outfits while trying desperately to save the galaxy? And why is everyone in this movie staring at film-me's breasts? This is getting out of hand.

MORDIN: Scientifically impossible to survive geth attack while wearing Asari stripper outfit. No shields. No armor. Just latex.


MIRANDA: Willing suspension of disbelief, Mordin.

GRUNT: So when does the killing start?

SHEPARD: Well, the first few hours are just me, Kaidan and Ashley running around the Citadel in laps while trying to prove that Saren is a bad guy. Then we save some doctor from getting murdered by some random mercs, then we go on to Noveria to kill Matriarch Boobies - err, I mean Benezia, then we're off to Feros to save some people from a giant plant thing, then we're off to Virmire where one of my squaddies dies, and finally we go to Ilos, where it turns out the Conduit was-

GARRUS: Shepard, you're spoiling the entire story!

SHEPARD: YOU WERE THERE!

GARRUS: Oh yeah, I forgot.

Though if they were to make a Mass Effect movie, how do you think they'd do Garrus? (or Turians in general). Asari are pretty simple, just paint em blue and stick on some tentacles, but Turian faces and bodies are probably too alien to use prosthetics. Garrus would probably end up having to be CGI, which would be a disaster if done wrong.
