/hides her surveillance cams...
Nothing to see here, carry on...
*cough*
One thing about that head piece that does have me intrigued though is this:
Before, I could see how it was like "stuck" to the back of his head, but now that he's had some forced facial modification done, does it "hook" on to his ear piece? Maybe he's got a small frame now to support it?
I dunno. It's just fun to think about how cybernetic Shep and Garrus and hell, any of the characters get during the game. I mean, hell, just look at all the body mods you get: Heavy Skin and Bone weave, and some others that I can't put a name to because I'm sleepy. XD
It's teh future... o.o

I need peoples opinion on garrus' chance of returning in ME 3, i need reassurance that garrus will be in me 3 because a lot of threads out there are leaning towards "ME 2 squadmates will only be cameos"

Garrus is probably the most popular character. He's likely to return, without him and Tali it would no longer feel like Mass Effect. He really has no where else to go, either. Garrus knows the big picture is that the Reapers need to be stopped.

I think the whole "CAMEOOOOOOOS" theory comes from the way characters from Mass Effect transitioned into Mass Effect 2. Ash/Kaidan could die, therefore: cameo. Wrex could die, therefore: cameo. Your entire squad can die in Mass Effect 2, therefore: cameo. It's interesting that people seem to forget that Liara is a character that can't die in the events of Mass Effect, but is still put in a cameo role. The whole "x, y, z character can die so they must be a cameo in future games" theory kind of goes out when we take that into consideration.
Garrus summarizes what the first game is really all about pretty well when you recruit him: "This is your show Shepard, but I want to take Saren down as much as you do. I'm coming with you." The first game begins with Anderson, Udina and Hackett commenting on how awesome Shepard is, and how "s/he's the only kind of person who can protect the galaxy" - singular, all about Shepard and how capable s/he is.
The game draws to a close with Shepard making a choice about who should sit on the Council, and ends with Shepard doing a manly strut off screen which then flicks off to a screen with her/him staring blankly off into space with blue or red colors flying around in the background. That tells me that this particular story was building up how cool Shepard was supposed to be and how the squad mates were just...bodies that s/he picked up along the way. This point becomes especially true when Shepard says, "Oh sure, you can come along. I'll take all the help I can get."
Conversely, Shepard *needs* the help of the squad members from Mass Effect 2 in order to be successful.
The second game begins with Miranda commenting on Shepard's accomplishments, but also mentions that s/he's "just one woman/man." This already takes a different tone than the first game and acknowledges that despite Shepard's greatness, s/he can't save the galaxy by her/himself. The ending of this game doesn't just have Shepard farting around staring off into oblivion; one of the last things the player sees before the credits starts rolling is Shepard nodding to her/his surviving crew members who are gearing up for something--presumably the incoming Reaper fleet. ...And then we have Shepard doing some blank (but somehow, strangely more ominous ) staring into the distance.
Yes, Shepard is still the protagonist, but it wasn't just his/her show anymore. Shepard was just the ring leader of the Badass Brigade. I'm pretty sure the characters from Mass Effect 2 will come back as squaddies in Mass Effect 3. If not, well...okay, but it'd make less sense to have characters like Liara and Ash/Kaidan come back as squaddies (when they were busy blowing Shepard off with something else obviously more important than the Collector threat during Mass Effect 2's plot) whereas the surviving crew mates who talk about gearing up and getting ready for the Reaper invasion go: "Oh. I can die. CAMEO. BYE SHEPARD."
That said, I wouldn't mind having Liara and Ash/Kaidan back. I don't want to be stuck with just the two of them, though, and I definitely don't want any new squad mates around for the third one. Surviving crew members for the Mass Effect finale, please.
Oh, and this.

Had some weird-arse dream involving me, FemShep and Garrus.
...Oh, DEAR LORD NO I DIDN'T MEA-NOT LIKE THAT!
Well, in other news, I've finished ME1. It was actually quite epic, and there really are experiences, tingles down the spines and feelings you don't get from just spoiling yourself and reading about it. Though, I was extremely annoyed at the part near the end of the final battle with those OHKO-ing Geth missile defense turrets ¬.¬
...Ended up standing at the very opposite wall, and managed to actually take down turrets that were miles away on the opposite side... with a pistol.
Final battle, and epilogue was really epic, too. I think I preferred the final scene and atmosphere of ME1, but the final boss of ME2 was better. Direct fight against Super-Massive-Ultra-Omega Reaper-Thingies (note the plural) that's nuking the Citadel to bits, and you have to send squaddies through suicidal risks to do stuff against them? Oh yeah.
Well, I guess I'll be importing to ME2... and I'll finally be able to romance Garrus. Woah.

The eye-scanner just made
me laugh. I kinda see it like a security-blanket. He is so used to it,
removing it would be a 'big deal' for him. And yeah, I prefer the blue

Argh, I quit WoW a while ago, Don't. Make. Me. Go. Back. *throws self into something to stop self*
As for the visor, yeah, I guess it's just something that he wears so much he forgets about it, and doesn't really remove it. Sort of like my glasses. Except sometimes I have to take them off. Eh, I ficced Garrus as discarding the visor before the deed.
And, as for ME3, I agree, perhaps not so many new guys, I don't want a 30-roster squad. Maybe the man-power, range of tasks that can be achieved and such are narrowed as more are killed, especially in ME2. If Tali and Legion both die, then maybe you won't be able to have as much tech capabilities in ME3, which I think would be pretty infuriating if it caused a game failure or even more deaths, but it would hamper you somewhat. Maybe it means that you have to hold a door position for longer before a less experienced tech-ie can open it and get you through?

Personally, I think he loved her all along and just explained it away as "best friends" and "devotion to my Commander" and stuff because they were different species and cross-species intercourse never crossed his mind. You notice that when she brings it up, it takes him a little to get his mind around the idea but he doesn't come anywhere close to saying no. It's more like "oh, can we?" like he never thought of it before, but he likes the sound of it...
This. I think it's true. Especially after hearing Kasumi's "Garrus really likes you, a lot of people want to see you together." comment, I thought that he wanted to be more than friends with her. I mean, why would you look for mood music (how bad it might be), buy wine, wear a (probably uncomfortable) suit, try some awkward pick-up lines, and generally try to make your night together a bit romantic if you think it's just going to be..well, blowing off steam?
Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see in ME3. In the meantime, I'll go play ME2 some more...
I always thought the fact that he went to the trouble of getting mood music and wine was a sure sign that from his point of view, it was a huge deal. Think about it: when you start 'dating' someone, the assumption is (usually) that sex will be an issue at some point. Now, if you get it out of the way early in proceedings, then it's less of a 'big deal' and you can move on. But if you wait, the longer you leave it, the more of a big deal it becomes: it is A BIG STEP, and represents a shift in the nature of your relationship. That's when you start doing the 'make it special', overthinking it thing (flowers, cook dinner, buy new pants, etc, etc). Now when the relationship as standard is a frienship and not a romance, similar rules apply. I reckon if Shep had propositions Garrus in the engine room, and he had gone "OK, let's do this!" there and then, you wouldn't have an issue. But no. They talk about it, and push it back, and actually plan a time, and so it turns into this BIG STEP thing again. There is anticipation. Looking at popular media, you can see similar trends. Compare (apologies for the comparison) Friends Monica and Chandler vs Joey and Rachel. Chandler and Monica get drunk and do it, therefore removing sex from the equation early on in their way to becoming more than just friends. Once the sex is out of the way, they can see where they are going. Joey and Rachel have an attraction, but debate about whether or not to act on it, and build the sex up, and eventually it becomes a roadblock. We are constantly presented with sitcom and soap opera episodes where characters plan and prep elaboratly for 'the night'. Anticipating sex is stressful, dammit!
I think the 'blowing off steam' thing only really works if you just get down to it when there is steam to blow. If you actually set a date and time for blowing off steam, this seems counter productive to me. lol (Had images of Shep and Garrus getting together the night before O-4 and being like
"You know, I'm actually feeling surprisingly calm. Must be that eucalytpus tea."
"Yeah, me too. I think I've reached whole Zen thing with this Reaper invasion."
"Hmm."
They sit in silence for a bit.
"Wanna play scarbble?"
"OK. Abreviations don't count."
"Whatever."
Gah! I guess what I'm failing to articluate as clearly as I would like here is that the introduction of wine and mood music into the equation undoes the casualness of their steam blowing plan. In fact, the fact that they made a plan to blow of steam, kind of undid that for them. But the fact he brings wine and music shows that Garrus has built it up in his head to be something... important. (wow - I typed far too much). Not casual sex at all.
Anyway, sorry. That's redundant text on this thread, but I was thinking about it on my way to work this morning and needed to put it somewhere, lol.

Not a huge fan of the headset either... He already wears a visor everywhere, and let me emphasize EVERYWHERE. I mean I really didn't see the need or point of him wearing the visor during the romance scene, but I was too occupied with the whole cuteness of the scene to care.
I like to think that the first thing Shepard did after the Fade to Black was take off that thing and toss it onto the table.
I have a theory that he doesn't take it off because he's secretly got crib notes on how to seduce (and sex) human females displaying on there.
"Crap. OK. She's touching my face. WhatdoIdo? WhatdoIdo? WhatdoIdo?"
Or maybe it helps with his targeting. If you know what I mean.

Yeah, I agree with the Mon/Cha and Joe/Rac comparison, it feels a lot like you can compare the two and FemShep/Garrus. I love Friends.
...Suddenly thought of Shepard and Garrus as Joey and Rachel, and Kaidan as Ross.
Band-aid makes out as if it's just a little scab. Oh, Garrus, you've got hit in the face by a missile, have a little antiseptic and a plaster. That should definitely cover it up and you'll be good as new.
And... this internet... I won't call it a sensation, because that comes with positive connotations, thing, is getting a little old.
