@Riot - Have my babies? Plz?
You have no idea how hard I love these, since I can't seem to get any good rendered Screenies from ME1 (Mods hate me so hard.)
Though DLing them makes me cry inside. Would you mind if I hosted a torrent and the .rars on my website? That way people can just get them without having to go through the rigamoral of having a megaupload acct?
Certainly! I hate MegaUpload so much since it's slow and eats my internet connection like a black hole devouring all matter when I upload. MU is also finicky as sometimes it wants users to have accounts while other times it really doesn't care. Your alternative of hosting is so much more efficient!
And to those that do enjoy these picture packs, I finished Virmire last night (though I might double back for more Saren) and will be working on the Citadel Redux and Ilos throughout the weekend. My next post will hopefully be next Sunday if I make the progress I need to make.

Morning all. I'm avoiding comparing Garrus to Joey. After all, Rachel ended up with Ross.
Yeah... I did apologise for the Friends comparison. I think the FemShep Garrus relationship doesn't fir either mould easily. Was just for the reasons of popular culture speaking to a more general experience (ie. its popular because people can relate) than name individual ones.
And let's face it, both FemShep and Garrus would be severley irritated by those comparisions. They might kill! lol
(Garrus: How you doin'?
DrunkFemShep: I'm doin' just fine, baby. How you doin'?)

Yeah, the prize ¬.¬
I'm normally fine with memes, but this one's getting far too overused for my liking.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to fully compare the Mass Effect cast to Friends and the full stories, but in some places it does fit. And I can really see Garrus and FemShep as Joey and Rachel, and Kaidan as Ross at that exact moment when he walks in. Probably not at other points, but I can actually see Kaidan just walking in and being horrified.
Kaidan: WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!!
But yeah, it could be more comparable to Monica and Chandler.
Edit:
Garrus: But... it is odd how a woman's purse looks so good on me, a man.
Shepard: Exactly, Unisex!
Garrus: Uh, maybe you need sex, I had sex a couple days ago.
Shepard: No, no, Garrus, U-N-I sex.
Garrus: ...Well, I ain't gonna say no to that.

Garrus is an interesting character, but as a straight guy it's hard to be a Garrus Fanboy. Talimancing is sooo much easier.

"While sitting outside by the bond fire, counting the stars... found myself not thinking about the universes mysteries but instead Mass Effect 2....I was looking for Garrus."

BW is smart enough to figure out that, at the least, most people will try to keep their LI alive. For those (few) with no LI, they'll probably at least have a favorite character or two they'll keep alive (plus, I think it's 2, but maybe 1, minimum squadmate(s) must survive for an importable save).
First note: BW has said they're going to "go crazy" with the story in the 3rd installment. ME2's variations were limited not because of the various choices we could have made, but because it's the second installment. The third can have a lot more freedom.
So, the LIs: BW has said there will be consequences for "cheating". (Ha!). This tells us that, at the very least, the ME2 LIs will be coming back, very likely as recruitable squaddies. BW knows how to do the "If not X, then Y. If not X or Y, then Z." very well. Plus, the datamining will tell them which characters survive the most often, giving them clues to how large to adapt each role. If these boards are any indication? Garrus, Thane, Miranda, Tali, at the least, will all be back as squaddies.
eta: Edited for typos....I love the Garrus/Femshep animation there, but it sure as heck makes my old-arse compy runs slow as all hell.

Why do I get the feeling this big to-do about romance consequences in ME3 is going to amount to nothing special? Shepard is off to finally defeat the Reapers, it hardly seems the time for two love interests to get into a pissing match.
Maybe, but I think the fact that they have put off the conclusion of any romances until the last game suggests otherwise. They don't give you the chance to break up with your ME1 LI, and the ME2 LIs are all open ended as well. I think they are treating it as a significant B plot that fits well within the three act structure.

I'm just curious as to how it will all play out though... And I am deeply concerned with these "consequences" for the supposed "cheating"... However I keep having this vision of Kaidan being a whiny little boy and Garrus head butting him and telling him to stfu... I find this vision incredibly amusing
But agreeing with everyone else so far, BioWare will definitely have to bring at least the main characters back... ESPECIALLY Garrus, cause if they didn't, I'd find them and make them add him...

Its not cheating. They did a good job in makiing your relationship status after virmire and even with liara very un specific. That's why I don't think there will be any major "cat fights" between the old and new LIs.

For Thane/Jacob, on the other hand, the fact you had a previous beaux could be a bit of unwelcome news.
Also, it's not cheating if they essentially tell you to go to hell. lol
