It would probably be straightforward (difficult or easy, I have no idea) enough to make 'puppet' mandibles. Skeletal framing with motors and silicone styled 'flesh' would be my suggestion; done properly you could have a small control box that either let you adjust them ad hoc or (more reasonably) to fixed poses. That would mean you'd need to, er, calibrate it to the right poses however. It could be feasibly do the 'lips' too, if you were so inclined.

Essentially, something along the lines of what was done for the Predators in the (horrible) Aliens Versus Predator films. While those films are bloody awful, they were very good in terms of techinical gadgetry.

Yea, I took a lot of inspiration to make my garg costume from years of watching Mythbusters... XD
They totally should come out with a book... but it'd have nothing to do with mythbusting and everything to do with their actual job.
XD

Hrm, to make this Garrus related or to just wallowing in car being fixed fumes... decisions decisions...

(I know, it's a repost, but I don't have my stash on the lappy top.)

ETA: I think the orange eye piece has grown on me.  I like it.  The beer straws are still on the fence... but otherwise... I really like the new diggs.

It's a repost? Don't think I've downloaded that one, yet...

Edit: Ah, I have. Just not in the silentstephi folder (Yeah, I've named a folder after you, kinda helps with knowing where the screenshots came from). Gonna have to do a little organisation, then.

2ndEdit: Any idea where garrus12, or anything beyond garrus22 is?

Can't get Kasumi or the alternate costumes because I have to pay for them, and unless I get a credit card somehow, I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

I'm too young to be an alcoholic... I'd probably be teetotal even when I'm old enough, though.

No idea about how to make a face that works for a turian. It'd be a bit more complicated than any other sort of costume with a movable jaw. Not that I actually know any of that in the first place, anyway.

You're in there an awful lot...

As for the whole "rp" thing... I'm probably one of those few RP'rs that feel a tad out of my comfort zone when people take cannon characters and run with them. If I'm gonna RP, I'm gonna make an OC, not use a cannon PC (unless, you know, I'm the GM/ST/DM.) But that's jus' me. Fanfic is probably the extent of me delving into that kind of trying to voice a character...

Not saying whoever does RP as a cannon character is a bad person, but it usually ends up bad. A very few people can pull off a character in a believable fashion to me, if they weren't the writer of said character.

I'd have to agree, if I ever do roleplay, I use an original character instead of an existing, canon one, for the same reasons, they're generally already very well defined, so it's hard to capture or shape them accurately. The only time I really write canon characters are in fanfic.

I never had a problem with the orange eye piece, the beer straws and the glowing blue lines. I just can't see the armor without seeing Garrus in high boots, briefs and a top that's too short.

@Flammie - Yea, hopefully this is the last trip to the shop. Hondas are resilient buggers, but this one is 13 yrs and 200K miles (what is that in kilometers? A cubic butt ton? XD) of road love, its due for it's small share of hiccups. I never knew what it was to run a car into the ground until this car...

And as for the screenies, I'm just naming them garrus(number) because I've run out of witty things to call them... XD I also upload them on a whim... but at least they'll be numerical. ^.^

Eye piece - I didn't have much of a malfunction when it came to that either, because the color was a very nice contrast to all the cool blues...

Speaking of... I wonder, I think it's been made mention of before, but it's worth repeating... anyone think that Garrus's proclivity for blue is showing us a bit of his "blood thirsty" side, albeit subconsciously? I mean... you look at someone covered in red and it sends BAMF signals off in our brains because, well, we're red blooded... it's this thing... I guess this being why red hot rods are all the rage.

But turian's bleed blue.

It's probably just an artistic thing that the art people did...

But being a fan, I'm bored, and feel like conjuring up something that's probably not there.

^.^

1 mile = 1.6 kilometres, I think... we don't use kilometres very much, though, I don't think...

Yeah, I like witty names, but the numbers help a lot, especially with organising. Since I know number 12 is missing XD

Eh, I wasn't fond of orange, but I guess I'm coming around. Hmm... I thought of blue as the C-Sec and turian colour, and Garrus, but that's an interesting thought actually. It seems quite in-depth and looking into it quite a bit, but I actually think the artists could actually have thought that. I think they often go into ridiculously deep intricacies of their choices, maybe...

Oh, just a little afterthought, playing around and browsing profiles, and I don't quite understand your website, silentstephi. The shrimp's creeping me out a little.

Hibachi chefs are strange people.

But the shrimp was quite photogenic... until I ate it. I had to immortalize it some how.

Right now it is the gatekeeper... since it took my like 3 years to get my domain back from a $%^*ing domain squatter.

Aaaaaaaaaand I'm home! So

The day I can figure out how to make my website Garrus/ME themed, is the day my husband probably files for a divorce. XD Or commits me, one or the other. Man gets so jealous... won't even let me see the new Robin Hood...

I think it started somewhere around page 1000.  I like the signatures.

I think the primary reasoning from the art department's perspective is that blue is a color most associated with law enforcement.  Looking at police officers' uniforms from around the world, blue or red seem to dominate.  But then the artists are also the same folks who decided to make turian blood blue, so that might play into it as well.

I think I'm the only one who the new Garrus DLC armor isn't growing on. Thane's is really the only one I liked thoroughly, mostly cuz the shades covered his creepy Zalgo eyes. Jack's was neato but HER shades are a tad silly.

Garrus', however, is just painful to look at. I hate the orange, hate the beer straws, and I feel like if I walk with him through a Lousiana bayou in summer, I'll make it out without a single mosquito bite.

Also, at T3hMerc....The important thing is we all stay nice to the Tali fans. Pissing them off...well...It's a heavy risk. Image IPB

Ah, true.  Either way, I think I remember why I was thinking about it... there's a few DA pictures I've seen Garrus with blood on his teeth and it was blue, and it just made me go, "huh..."

Btw, another poll is out there... and I figure we can at least show the love.  I know, the polls in general are silly, but I art lemming. /rawr

Thanks!

I found a link to 'Justified' in the voice actor appreciation thread, so for those who couldn't see it: click here. The real Garrus has red blood . My McAfee siteadvisor give me a red sign on that site, so be careful. And don't watch it when you have dentist anxiety.

Oh man, Brandon Keener is so cute there.

You're not alone, Soltana. I'm not a huge fan of it, either. (Mostly because I LIKE his battered armor, dangnabit!) I just don't like the beer-straws and orange eye-piece aside from that. The markings of his "I took on a gunship with my face and won" armor makes me admire him all the more.

I like Jack's outfit because I want her boots. The shades don't bother me, really. I'm not a HUGE fan of Thane's... the glasses throw me. I dunno.

NOTHING about pissing the Tali fans off deserves a 'But the priiiiiiize' to finish that out, either. I just don't want to deal with that. Poking a stick into a Killer Bee hive and stirring like mad would be about the same thing. But I'm all for teaming up with the Legion fans. I mean, at least one of my Sheps would rather date Legion than deal with organics anymore. XD If she got to 'retire' after dealing the the Reapers she'd probably offer to go be an ambassador or something with the Geth just to gtfo of organic space. That and Legion just rocks. (He's so cute when avoiding Shepard's questions about her armor. Teehee!)

But the- NO! I won't!! I woooon't! *BLAM*

I'm still on the Garrus fixed-armor fence. Most of the time I have him in his loyalty armor 'cause I made my FemShep's armor to match.

Tali fans: strangely more easily worked up than the Garrus fangirls (and boys). Would like to find comparison of age groups. For science. Also, good allies. Support Garrus as well as Tali. BioWare must listen. Image IPB

I like the new armors all around except for Jack's shades. They seem a bit awkward. I love Thane's outfit. So. Hard. The shades are also a nice touch with him, with his whole color spectrum skewed and what not.

And I like the loyalty armor, I like the recruit armor, but I'm a big fan of the FIXT armor. Because... well, new diggs shouldn't have the same frackin' hole. That and I like the colors... but that's just me being weird.

As for fans uniting and what not, um, sure? I mean... I am a fan of a lot of the characters. There really isn't one squad mate I can say I truly hate (I know, I've expressed my dislike for Miranda a few times, but she serves her purpose, and I can't say I really hate her.) The only characters I don't think I'd lose sleep over not coming back are Grunt, Samara, Miranda, Jacob, Zaeed, and Jack. So, all the humans (sans Kasumi, she's grown on me, and her story is really cool). Because I'm a xenophile. /nod

I'd cry if we didn't get Garrus, Grunt, Kasumi(because she's got a secret and I want to KNOW it, dangit!), Tali, Mordin, and Legion. Samara is okay but I'd be happy with Liara coming back really.... I wouldn't mind not having the humans back. It's kind of sad but... I only really use them on their loyalty missions and to make Jacob escort the crew back to the ship.

Heck, I started my first ever Vanguard last night, on hardmode to boot, and spent the entire time at Freedom's Landing gritching about how useless the two with me were. I was told "Oh, calm down, you'll go get Garrus first thing and then Mordin and you'll never use them again. Shaddap." by my Steam friend.

Yes. I love the sight of humans pulling teeth out.

Other than that, the way Brandon Keener says 'here' is funny. I also noticed it when I was playing ME2, but I thought it was a Garrus thing. Is it an accent or is it just Brandon Keener? I don't think I've ever heard someone say 'here' that way.

@Flammie. Until the whole teeth yanking thing, he's kinda adorable (eve though he's being a total douche!) I want to see more of this guy. And delivering lines like "I don't care if he's a paraplegic...I don't care if he's just a torso on a skateboard" (as I said, he is a total douche!) and remaining adorable really speaks to his awesome (or the fact that I have become waaaay too much of a fangirl and am biased to the truth! lol)

EDIT: I  just re-read that back. It's deffo the fangirl thing. Nothing likable about that guy's character. Just the man playing him. lol

I know Turians have blue blood, but I was doing Grunt's RM last night, and a lot of the Blue Sun bodies lying around which seemed Turian shaped were lyijng in puddles of the red stuff. I'm beginning to wonder if the human members are just picking up the wrong sized armour. o_O

@Kotori Ky. Welcome to Vanguarding! :D It's a fun class to play, but also quite deadly (remember we were discussion inebriated playthroughs? Well, you can have some awesome ones of those on Vanguard! lol) I'm the same as you: I find freedom's landing a pain in the butt, and I speed through it to pick up Garrus, Grunt and Mordin (get Garrus before Mordin. Taking him into the plague zone is super cute and made of win!)

I did a kids craft session today, and insisted on making all my example crafts blue and grey, even though the defaults were red. Got some funny looks from other team members. lol. Taking fangirlism to work... maybe not a good idea. :)
