And funny thing, I also thought Hock sounded like Donelly's VA doing a mix of russian and scottish lol.
Well, this thread is long, so perhaps discussed before, but did anyone else think that the Firewalker Shuttle VI sounded like Garrus?

I think it's been mentioned, I know every time I hear it, it sounds like Keener XD

Whenever someone else says it, I feel a little less crazy...But I still wonder if I'm just projecting Keener's voice out of desperation to hear more of it. Perhaps Garrus has so little to talk about aboard the Normandy because Brandon Keener is also the VI in the Firewalker missions.

Surely we have the Hammerhead to blame for Garrus' obsession with calibrations...

Yeah right  in the mean time, I'm just going to keep imagining that the Hammerhead just happens to have a Garrus VI.

I got drunk a few days ago with my friend.... also Garrus fangirl. We tried to talk with some guy on Omegle on the topic "Why can't we find as awesome guys as G. Vakarian". He couldn't tell, or he couldn't understand us, because I had some issues with hitting the right keys on the keyboard (ah, wine)... whatever. But his conclusion was that we're not pretty enough.

So we told him, that Garrus would never say that.

God, that was funny.

All credits for the text in the moti posters go to Peppard. I just put 1 and 1 together ^^.

I will buy a bottle of liquor tomorrow. I want to experience an alcoholic mission. YEAH.

I love you guys and this thread. (Hey, I'm sober :P). Have a lovely evening and drink one more glass for me when you hit 400 ;)

And oh yeah, the Hammerhead VI. I still have to check that out. Maybe tomorrow. There's so much to do in so little time.

The answer is, because no guys is as awesome as Garrus Vakarian. That guy was just too ashamed to admit it!

Also, talking to Garrus about his team is maing me sad. Can someone else join Happy Hour, please? :P

Kotori Ky - I'll be in bed in 3 hours, but know I am with you in spirit!

EDIT ^^ in a non-hitting on you way. I promise. lol (just read that back...)

Yeah, I read the "I'll be in bed in 3 hours" that way, too.

...I'm never going to grow a pair and play Vanguard. I will pick sniper rifle for my Sentinel, though.

I love everybody in here, and I'm not drunk.

Hmm...

*finds random glass of wine somewhere*
*inhales deeply*
*stumbles*

I lurve Garrrrruu-*snore*-whuh-huh? Oh... uuuuuuuuuuuuuussss.

*collapses in a heap*

I don't wanna! No! Don't! Argh!

*starts randomly flailing on the ground*

I'm not a Magikarp!

*pushes self to ground*

GRAGH!

*throws self at wall*
*sobers*

*cough* Yeah, I think I'll do just fine for Happy Hour, don't worry about me.

Well all the talking about drinking makes me want to play ME2 drunk. The last time I got drunk I did some stupid things that left my back and my neck hurting. I think I'll stay away from alcohol for some time.

But Garrus is worth it. I just need to stop... rushing. /headdesk

EDIT: By the typing above someone is starting Garrus Happy Hour early. Stupid Raid, I can't start for another... 3 hours. XD Boo:P

Haha, good luck on kicking Arthas butt.  I petered out on my guild of 3 years a few months ago (life crit me in the face.)
Sucks because ICC was just out, but I'm also a bit torked over the whole gated raid crap.
(I played on Drenden! XD)

Vanguard is TOO MUCH FUN.  I also find that if you have the chance, you can shorten some fights by just CHARGIN' in.  On Mordin's recruitment, when you charge the fans, you can shorten the amount of enemies, by a tad.  It probably helps more in the harder modes, but I can't get the guts to take the vet gloves off (casual is too boring).

I'm 19, so...no. However, I have been known to play games for 8+ hours straight, and by 5 in the morning, you're about as giggly and coherent as you are when buzzed (I don't drink, for obvious reasons, but I've had sips and small drinks with family--which is legal, actually--so I know the feeling).

So are we the alcoholic thread? Wow, it's like you're all from my sociology class...

Garrus:"At some point in my life, I got used to the smell of burning bodies... that's probably a bad sign."
Grunt:"Anyone else hungry?"
Garrus: "You might want to keep comments liek that to yourself, Grunt. Krogen are unpopular enough already."

How have I missed this exchange before? :o

OK, guys. I vote we make Garrus Happy Hour a thing we do form time to time... but co-ordinate. I appreciate that at this point, I am likly the only one partaking, but I assure you it is hella fun! :D

I always forget you yanks can't drink til 21. But you are right - 5am gaming to round off 8+ 9I've done 12: it was not pretty) hours of straight gaming will get you giddier than any narcotic I've ever seen.

I think I may have veered us towards the alcoholic thread.... but Garrus brought the wine!

So, here's a question - has anyone else had an unbeleivably difficult time on the collector ship on insanity difficulty?
I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I had very little problem up to that point, even making it through horizon with very little difficulty, and all of a sudden - wham! The game cranks the difficulty up to a 13, and I can't even take cover, since they shoot me while I'm hiding. I don't know if it's just me, but it's gotten to the point where I'm ready to break something.

I guess I'm a little late to the party.  But I had a bunch of trouble at this section too.

Honestly, the problem I was having was HARBINGER. Because every time he hit you/your cover with that, uh, thing. Warp? it chucked me out of cover where I then got peppered with bullets and died.  I went into it with the whole 'kill collectors first, then harbinger, so you only have to kill Harbinger once' thing, but honestly.. did not work for me at all.  The playthrough I beat it I had my guys stay back at the little barrier. I think the reason you may have been shot at is because those damn diagonal walls don't cover you properly from the sides -- and there are collectors sometimes coming at you from the sides, I'm pretty sure they can see you over them, so they can shoot you.  But usually once I got down into cover front and center they wouldn't hit me that much.
      _______
   /       me      \\
  /Gar.        Mir \\

And I pretty much exclusively went after Harbinger.  MIranda's Heavy Warp + my Area Reave took him down pretty fast (I didn't even really shoot at him at all -- just kept in cover to avoid being hit by bullets or otherwise--,  and just kept reusing those powers). Then once Harbinger was dead I'd take down as many collectors as possible, then focus on harbinger again as soon as he popped up.  I was an Infiltraitor, but I didn't really use a class specific strategy at all, except for with the heavy weapon. If harbinger ever gets too close, it's nice to hit him with your collector beam (I don't know if this is for all heavy weapons, but while something is being hit by the collector beam they don't actually attack you) so I would cloak and  spam him with particle beam until my cloak ran out.  Also, I constantly revived my party members because they attracted fire and took the heat off me.  Garrus, well if you have his armor piercing ammo you could probably use it to your benefit.  I just took Garrus with me everywhere ^_^ even on Insanity.  I couldn't leave my bro behind.

silent, I'm pretty torked out, too... but I've played the game too long to NOT stick around to kill him. So... I'm stuck.

I think I'm learning the Vanguard way. Charging every time it is up. Makes me kind of wish I took Legion's loyalty goodie for the extra shielding, because I almost always almost died soon after. But I finished the mission and my boi is finally where he belongs. :D

I remember the first time I did the Collector ship and the platform battle began, Garrus and Samara died practically instantly.

Wait, there's an exchange like that in Mordin's recruitment mission? Why wasn't I told?

You can't drink until you're 21 in America?

*raises glass* Sláinte ^_^

And by 'where he belongs', do you mean keeping Shepard comfortable? ;)

@Mariquis: Have you tried killing all the other Collectors and leaving Harbringer til last? I can usually take him down, but it's the respaen that's annoying. Leave him nothing to assume control of. Get your squad to focus on him to draw him off you.

I totally thought that the Hammerhead VI was voiced by Keener as well. I wonder if the voice actors for the main characters ususally do smaller roles on the side?

Speaking of things that sound like Garrus, Brandon Keener voices the allied sniper in Company of Heroes. I didn't play it myself, but one day my brother called me over to his computer complaining that my obsession with Mass Effect had contaminated his game as well.

Ah, yes, I remember that image. Sparked a little outrage that he took his visor off for his helmet but not for romance-time.

And, I'm once again not on the Garrus computer, so no download, and I probably will end up forgetting about that one ¬.¬

Moi? Inebriated? Never!

lol. Actually, I have had a glass of wine tonight, but I'm not 'drunk' ("yeah yeah", I hear you cry. Trust me: I post here drunk, y'all will know it! :P). I get kind of giddy when I'm gaming. Or chatting, Or just randomly. Health and saftey once gave me a talking to for 'skipping at work'. And once, my BF pulled me down off a table and bundled me into a taxi and insisted we leave a party early because I was 'too drunk.' I was 16 at the time, and had been drinking cans of cola all night: no alcohol involved!

Sorry - I make typing mistakes at the best of times, but I'm on my new netbook and the keyboard is a tad wee, compared to my usual. It's gonna take some getting used to. I type too fast. Also, mostly when I post here, I'm at work. lol

Yes: gaming for prolonged periods of time should come with it's own 'Do Not Operate Heavey Machinary' notice. After my Oblivion marathon, I started looking at the real world in terms of 'what can I harvest for alchemy?'. If I get immersed in a game, I occasionally find myself trying to 'reload from save' in real life. After my suicide mission all nighter (I had to go into work immediatly after. I hadn't intended to do it, but I got sucked in) I overslept (on 2 hours of sleep) for work, rolled over, thought 'It's OK. I'll reload and be on time', and was late for work. :(

Buton topic: I was giving the whole 'Vanguard Shepard Battle Sex' thing some more thought - I think with the Garrus elationship, if Shep is a Vanguard, broken furnature will be an issue. I wonder what the soundproofing in the cabin is like...

(PS: Kotori Ky. To be clear, I'm sure if I met you, I may well want to hit on you - don't take offense either way!  I just didn't intend to phrase it that way. :P)

EDIT: OK 2.5 glassed of wine and 'tipsey' (no point lying to you guys...)

ok, so I never post here, but like my sig says, "I support garrus"

Anyway, there is this game going on where people vote a +1 and a -1 to characters from ME1 and ME2 and the last man standing wins. The liara fans have already voted out my favorite before I even knew the game existed (Ashley)...

They are planning on taking out jack and then GARRUS. Don't let them do it!!! Go vote for garrus!

here is the OP, read the rules....and save Garrus from the Liara fans!

vote
