I think I would actually have to make an ME1 playthrough where I didn't dust her back on Virmire if in ME3 she makes a reference to your LI with Garrus and the "kissing turians" comment. But as it stands I'm looking forward to the impending ME3 man-fight between Garrus & Kaidan.Kim Shepard wrote...

I'm running out of Garrus-specific things to say, so here's a mission for the artists, should they choose to accept it. If you were redesigning Garrus's targeting monocle, what would it look like? Go go go! If permission is given, I will turn said monocle design into a prop for Von. No profit will be made by me, this is a labor of love. I wanna see what the community comes up with.
I really like his monocle/scouter thing the way it is, but if it had to be changed, here are some ideas (the first is based on the concept in the CE art book 'cause it looked so awesome).

Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry
Go on and close the curtains
cause all we need is candle light
You and me and a bottle of wine
going to hold you tonight
Well we know I'm going away
and how I wish, I wish it weren't so
So take this wine and drink with me
let's delay our misery
Save tonight
and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
tomorrow I'll be gone...

It's exactly the opposite for me, because I think of it as "well, at least her family/parents have other children to carry on with the family genes!", whereas Kaidan never mentions any siblings and for all I know is an only child.siltsonata wrote...

I've never tried nuking Kaidan in a playthrough where I was romancing him, though (and since I romanced him in 95% of my playthroughs...). I really hope they don't have a similar live/die situation for your ME2 LI, but I can't imagine them reusing that plot device.
Kinda on topic(?): In ME3, when the supposed "consequences" of our cheating ways come to fruition with a possible confrontation between Liara/Kaidan and Garrus, do you think they'll give us an option to ditch Garrus and return to our ME1 LIs? Just a thought that only just now occured to me (durr, I'm slow).

I feel bad about laughing at that...but I did. *giggle*
I nuke Kaidan. Spares me the effort of continuously shutting down his interest. And I think Ashley has more potential for character growth than he does. Although they're both relatively stable, she's not a fan of aliens, whereas Kaidan's just sort of there and friendly to everyone.
And he's boring. She's minutely more interesting. The only reason I don't like her, and I blame the writers for this one, was because she quotes "O Captain, My Captain" before sex, and, well, that was a poem about Lincoln's death. Uh, wot? <_<
In any case. Garrus. Yes.
Once again, my vote for Daddy Vakarian in ME3 is up.
I kinda wish all the LIs had kinda personal quests in ME3. I think that would be interesting. And Garrus' would be Meet the Family. xD

Ash seems really bent out of shape over who her Grandpa is. At least this way, she can die a hero, and not the zero Grandpa was.

And the fact that the plot device was already used is the only thing that makes me feel safe at night.:PSeriously, if it weren't for that it seems like that would be exactly the sort of drama that Bioware would want to put in. I'd be afraid. (I still am, but more in the way that I was when I first met EDI: "Oh, this is kind of cool. I know bioware wouldn't make her evil, that's way too cliche. ....Still...I guess it could happen. Don't do it Bioware, don't do it, don't do it, don't do it..." That kind of optimistic-yet-wary attitude, you know what I'm talking about.)
And I think that a) they'll give us the option to return to the ME1 interest, but it'll somehow horribly backfire and one of the LI's will die in a totally unrelated incident but you the player will know that it's your fault, or
Irrelevant, because I always pretended Garrus was my LI in ME1 anyway, so from my perspective I've been "Faithful" the whole time.

I've been trying to find a reason to motivate myself to complete a ME1/ME2 maleShep playthrough, but all of the LIs are completely blah to me. Now if Samara had been available, there is an asari I would actually pursue.Hawkeyed Cai Li wrote...

But what with 3 out of the 4 femShep LI's being more or less awesome (IMO, of course) I just can't seem to do it.
Pre-coitus poetry = boner shrinker. Way to go, Ash.
Edit: @siltsonata - I originally thought that the Bioware devs threw in that "consequences!" line as a way to appease the frantic Liara/Kaidan/Ashley fans. I'm not entirely sure anything substantial (plot-wise) is going to come of it since the majority of people on the forums seem to have cheated, heh.

It would be awesome if Ashley had some special dialogue for Shepard about Garrus, but I'm not sure how my Shepard would be able to justify saving her... except for one playthrough (where a Shepard romances her just so I can see the effects of cheating in ME3), they always save whoever's with the nuke, which is Kaidan. Who does the salarian want to take with him if Shepard lets him choose? If it's Kaidan, then that'll work. Or I could alter Shepard's morals so that she'll want to save the salarian group, and then I'll get to watch her in both fight scenes with Saren. Actually, that would be awesome... but it would involve an "Assuming Direct Control" moment of my Shepard. xD
Shepard: Alright, we're going to save Kai-- ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.
Garrus: ...Commander? o_o;
Shepard: Ashley. We're going to save Ashley.

Commander Garrus in "kneecap shooting out" mode.
"TURIAN, MOTHER F**KER! DO YOU SPEAK IT?!"
"I'm holding you against the wall with one hand effortlessly. Let the fangirls swarm upon me."
Commander Garrus takes aim and- crap, he's fallen asleep
Commander Garrus tends to get a tad nervous around influential Asari call girls.
Oh yeah. She has the "Palaven Fever" for sure.

I can't see Kaidan initially getting into a physical fight with Garrus, but perhaps somewhere in the middle/end of the game he could overhear something between FemShep & Garrus that would be the final straw. I could see him trying to stifle his feelings initially (especially in regards to his behavior on Horizon, he might feel responsible for FemShep ditching him), but I can also see those emotions manifesting in an out-of-thw-blue punch if he ever walked in on an intimate FemShep/Garrus moment.Anastassia wrote...

I actually really liked Ash. I liked her more than Tali in the first one. If she hadn't been so mean to my Shep on Horizon, and had come along with to remind me how much I like her, I'd probably have liked her more than Tali in ME2. Tali's like a little sister/fangirl to my FemShep, whereas Ash is totally her best gal pal. They really get each other in a way a lot of the ME2 chicks just don't get FemShep, and really don't try to.
Seriously. I keep wondering why people are calling this dude Shepard, because, don't they remember? Shepard is that hot blonde woman! Being around Garrus makes me especially sad because I miss the chemistry.silentstephi wrote...

@Tootles: Ditch Garrus? Maybe, but why would you want to? D8 ... I do wish we'd have a confrontation, but Garrus is just too awesome to get into a physical fight. Stupid as it is, they'd probably script all of ManShep's LI confrontations as catfights, and all of FemShep's as arguements, simply because Liara is for either and you know none of those gentlemen would come to blows with her.
@SavageLycan: Those are awesome. I especially like sleeping Garrus. D'aww! <3
RE: Meet the Parents. Does anyone else think about how terrible this could go if you went Renegade? Shepard and Garrus busting into Papa Vakarian's house without so much as a how do you do. "Hey, pop. This is my new squeeze, and she's a Spectre. Got anything to say about it? No? DIDN'T THINK SO. If you'll excuse us, we've got asses to kick and reporters to punch, kthx. Garrus out!~"
Okay, maybe it wouldn't go -exactly- like that, but.. The cute awkwardness would be completely replaced by some severe family tension, methinks. xD;

ACTUALLY!
....sorry. Actually: I think that would be great character development for Kaidan. He's usually laid back. When he was younger and killed the Turian biotic...trainer...guy...(man, I'm a blank on his history now,) he always used to hold back. (Though the Eden Prime thing stopped this, at least Biotically.) If he was serious about Shepard, and she was with Garrus after ME2, the angst would probably build up. Near the end, they could have Kaidan confront Garrus, and fight for Shepard. (Though, it probably wouldn't do any good, it would still show he's grown a quad.) It would be good development for him.
