You know, that's pretty much what I have to do, too.  I don't want my more casual ME-fan acquaintances IRL wouldn't back away and run as fast as they can in the other direction, so I try to keep my more obsessive stuff hidden from view. =]

LMAO...I've already posted way too many times in a row, but that is just a thing of beauty.
You know what makes it?  The tie.

As I said, accidently brought up liquid sugar in conversation with a non ME fan in work today. I try to keep my crazy hidden, but it finds ways to boil over the top!

But I think obsessive fangirling is fine as long as you a, realise it's all in good fun and don't take it or yourself too seriously, b, aren't confusing fantasy with reality on a regualr basis, and c, vent it into places liek this with like minded people, while maintaining the common sense of point a.

Seriouly, I think I posted this last night, but if you haven't done Mordin's recruitment with both Garrus and Grunt in your party, do so as soon as you have the chance. They have an awesome exchange which may be my gaming highlight of the week!

If there's nothing Garrus-y left to talk about, I will close the thread, so please, let's try and stay on topic.

Wat.

My sentiments exactly.

@Janey: Yeah, Grunt & Garrus in the plague zone is hilarious (even though it's only, like, 3 lines...). I have to say I never thought about taking Grunt & Garrus to the plague zone before reading these forums. Pretty clever they put those specific reactions in.

Garrus: *cough* That doesn't sound good..

I wonder who in the crew actually has scale itch?

Urz.  Shepard snuck him on the Normandy.  She's hiding him behind the fish tank.

So that's why all the fish keep disappearing...I thought she was forgetting to feed the fish.  Turns out she was forgetting to feed Urz!

Stanley Woo may have been talking about the stuff before we returned to Garrus. I think there was a fair lack of him a while back, especially when we were talking about the war and saving Mordin.

I heard about that conversation yesterday, and thinking about it made me remember the conversation with Grunt about how he hates turians.

Also been pondering if I'll always play Sentinel. Soldier, Infiltrator and Vanguard don't seem to interest me (funnily enough they're all Combat), and I'm not sure about Adept and Engineer. Though, Sentinels seem to be able to fit everybody in, including Garrus.

You sure love making a new post when you get a new thought, kglaser ^_^ maybe we'll hit page 1000 today.

Had this funny discussion with a friend about a student who was called Jack. To be honest I would have preferred the ME2 one. But not real Jack dressing up and acting like ME2 Jack. That would be freaky. Otherwise I keep my gaming-ness to myself.

I love Garrus, and I do ponder if Mass Effect plays out in real life, but I don't outright delude myself or go into freakily serious details. Only sometimes. Just saying. I love talking to you all, though.

Hmm... playing ME2, and apparently Garrus makes Shepard sober. (Dr. Chakwas Serrice Brandy). And Tali keeps dying. I'm going to switch her for Legion, if it can use a sniper rifle.

@
Flammie: PLAY PERSONA 4. NOOOW. Use British eBay or British GameStop or
whatever you have over there, but it's even better than P3. You can
control your party members directly (no more bastard AI getting you
killed), the game stops forcing you to have five girlfriends and cheat
on all of them, there's no ******-annoying 'but I'm tiiireeeeed' mechanic
any more, and IMO it's got better characters overall. And it's more
optimistic. Plaaaay iiiiit.

Actually, Magician would be a pretty
good fit, but I wonder if that might go to Kaidan better (in Persona,
Magician tends to be the Standard Male Friend, which fits Kaidan to a
tee). Hmm...I think I'm still banking on Emperor.

I-I kind of made a whole thread talking about the SMT games

Yeah, I was actually planning to get it when I first heard about it, but it slipped my mind. It does sound like a good game, so I probably will get around to getting it. What really got me killed in P3 was weakness spamming from the enemy. (knock down, get up and lose a turn, knock down, get up and lose a turn, knock down etc. etc.), oh, and that Charm attack from the penultimate boss. Funnily enough I didn't actually have to sufer a party member using a full cure on it. (Can't remember, Dia-something)

I loved Koromaru...

Yeah, I wasn't sure about Garrus being Magician, one of the reasons being that whole first social link thing. Also, the kind of self-confidence, since Garrus does seem to take a big hit on himself in ME2. I am quite sure Fool fits him to a T for ME1, though.

And, Garrus.

Heh, the thing is I never used to allow myself to do that--in fact, I think I even said something to that effect much earlier in this thread.  I gave up that promise a while back.  The thing is, I don't have a good enough memory to compile my posts for various people into one.  I have a memory like a sieve--if I don't post it when I think of it, it'll be gone.  Man I bet Thane would be good at compiling the posts though. :P

And on a DEFINITELY Garrus note:  if you guys haven't been over to the Favorite Character Fan Art thread yet, you should really go.  There is a lot of Garrus art all in one bite-size 3-page chunk.  I know most of us have seen it all before, but that much Garrus art in one spot is like a shot of adrenaline! :wizard:
Plus, you can submit your favorite Garrus art pic IF it hasn't been already submitted.  (AND PLUS, some of the art for the other characters is just amazing!)

Well, that was paaaages back. We were already back on track.

@kglaser: Yeah, that art thread is pretty good. I had a hard time picking one pic to post, though. There is so much awesome fanart with Garrus in it. I wish I could make something beautiful :(.

Also: oh no, not the Garrus mutant babies again. lol.

@Ohmen85 No! Why? I had almost managed to banish mutent Garrus babies from my imagination!

I'd love it if taking Grunt and Garrus to get Mordin put a timer or something on the mission - like, eventually they would keel over. Not that I want Garrus dead, you understand. It would just make a nice twist for replaying...

Have you tried just making new quote tabs for notable posts, and then when you've finished catching up and you don't have any more to quote, just compile it all into one post and reply to each quote? That's what I do...

Eh, I'm not sure about what he meant by off topic then, but I'm sure he has his reasons.

I've downloaded so much to the Magic Folder now, I can't really consider it the original folder. Don't actually have it on this computer, but I guess there were a few pieces I liked.

I'll be here if you need anything. Just killing time, anyway. Checking out class guides on Mass Effect wiki (my inability to decide on anything is amazing)

I've only just noticed 'can't sit up straight' Turian next to the Batarian patient in Mordin's clinic. He can't seem to stop falling over! Bless. :)

I love Garrus on this mission. "That wasn't a good noise."

This is some nice Garrus art. :) Every time I see it, I keep thinking it's a screenshot until I look closer.

...You know, I wasn't completely sure what the gun-related meaning of "popping the heatsink" was the first time I read it here on the forums (laugh it up, Garrus... at least I knew it was gun-related) until I watched a movie and saw my favorite character pop the heatsink. I was like, "Is that it? :D Awesome!"

I imagine that, if Garrus had that conversation with one of my male Shepards, Garrus would end up getting really confused and somewhat disturbed before they realized they were talking about completely different things.

Shepard: ...Wait, you were talking about--? o_o; I was talking about shooting mercs on the last mission!
Garrus: Oh... well, thank the spirits. I was getting worried for a minute there. And then I thought you were joking. And then I thought, "But why does he look so serious?" >_<;
Shepard: This conversation, like the one where I let it slip that I was in a gang back on Earth, it never happened.

@Flammie: I used a Vanguard for my first playthrough of ME1, and then a Sentinel for my second playthrough (which was the one I imported into ME2). I need to replay the Vanguard... Eventually, I'd like to play every class.

And for the only non-Garrus sentence in this huge garrus-related post, I want Persona 3 & 4 even more now. xD

I've never taken Garrus on Mordin's recruitment mission. I think I took Jacob and Grunt the first time, and goodness knows who the second. I'm going to try it for sure. :)

I think Woo was responding to someone reporting the earlier conversation.

Because people suck.

@Janey - That's... an interesting take on all that. Where is this conversation that Shep = Jesus? Oo

Isn't there some 'net law that all protagonists get compared to Jesus some time in their 'life'? I mean, granted, Shepard has the whole resurrection thing going for him/her...

I am A OK with Garrus being there until the bittertriumphant end. /sagenod

Oooh hey Mythbusters is on... /is distracted by more shiny...

The most unsettling thing about that pregnant Shepard thing is still the incorrect number of fingers.

Unless that's someone else's hand on Shep's belly, which is even *more* disturbing.
