Can't argue with that logic. It's only noon here, though and I'm a classy lady. No tequila until my kid's naptime at noon-thirty.
No alcohol for me tonight, we're out of baileys T.T

Yeah we're military stationed in Japan which is sorely lacking in Garrus. I should enlighten these people. Quick, how do you say Garrus in Japanese?!

Wasn't the first Mass Effect released over there? I think it even sold decently for an Xbox 360 game, but I could be wrong.

Wait...no. they have problems with L's, not R's...
But in all seriousness...The katakana would probably be ga-ru-sou va-ke-ri-ah-nn.
But what do I know? The only foreign language training I've had is Russian.

Yep. If you pronounced the 'a' in Garrus' name like the 'a' in father, then it'd be Ga-ra-su. But since that isn't the case, it's probably "Gya". The Japanese way of pronouncing Kathy is Kyashii, for example.
You wouldn't need to change the spelling of Vakarian at all, just the pronounciation.

A good chunk of the motivationals that have been posted are fail (not solely because of being unfunny, but because of using the meme incorrectly). But...this one was worth sifting through the trash for. In fact, almost all the Garrus-related ones were golden. There was a pretty good Jenkins one, but that's off topic.

If you look closely you can see Garrus's head moving right through... ah, what's the English word... well, a piece of her hair that's sticking out.
Now we're all going to watch the scene over and over until we know for sure what's going on. xD
I think most everyone drew an assuption with the whole "headbutt" thing, but in all actuallity, I think it's more a matter of them both leaning in, but no forehead contact--as if leaning in for something more. If you look at the vid again, Garrus is closer to the foreground, not directly in front of FemShep.
...This is all speculation, of course..unless someone does the camera hack like what was done for Tali, and finds out for sure.

Hilariously, drinking too much makes Shepard sober. In Kasumi's bar or the one on Illium, drinking makes the screen increasingly jiggly until you take one more drink and it snaps you right back to normal. If only real life worked like that...Flammie wrote...
Hmm... playing ME2, and apparently Garrus makes Shepard sober. (Dr. Chakwas Serrice Brandy). And Tali keeps dying. I'm going to switch her for Legion, if it can use a sniper rifle.
Shotguns and shields, Tali's two greatest strengths in ME1, got nerfed pretty hard in ME2. The regeneration mechanic means that enemies deal lots of damage quickly; fifty extra points of shield won't really help her. Especially since she needs to be close to an enemy to shotgun them effectively (squad AI changes based on what's equipped; shotty or SMG and they run closer to the enemy, sniper rifle and assault rifle and they stay farther away. At least, they're supposed to. GARRUS, STOP THAT). This spells instant death for Tali.
Add to that her skillset is biased towards fighting synthetics (which are plentiful in exactly three story missions, her recruitment, her loyalty, and Legion's loyalty), and she's just not that useful. While Legion has almost the same skillset, his Widow sniper rifle (which is stupidly powerful, I cannot emphasize this enough) and Shield Boost ability means that he's a lot more survivable on the whole. But if you've picked up Legion, you really should be going through the Omega-4 Relay...
Diarahan. (have you heard that P3 was remade for the PSP, with a new option for a female main character? It comes over to the US in July, I'm gonna date Shinjiro so hard)Flammie wrote...

Flammie: PLAY PERSONA 4. NOOOW. Use British eBay or British GameStop or
whatever you have over there, but it's even better than P3. You can
control your party members directly (no more bastard AI getting you
killed), the game stops forcing you to have five girlfriends and cheat
on all of them, there's no ******-annoying 'but I'm tiiireeeeed' mechanic
any more, and IMO it's got better characters overall. And it's more
optimistic. Plaaaay iiiiit.
Actually, Magician would be a pretty
good fit, but I wonder if that might go to Kaidan better (in Persona,
Magician tends to be the Standard Male Friend, which fits Kaidan to a
tee). Hmm...I think I'm still banking on Emperor.
I-I kind of made a whole thread talking about the SMT games
Yeah, I was actually planning to get it when I first heard about it, but it slipped my mind. It does sound like a good game, so I probably will get around to getting it. What really got me killed in P3 was weakness spamming from the enemy. (knock down, get up and lose a turn, knock down, get up and lose a turn, knock down etc. etc.), oh, and that Charm attack from the penultimate boss. Funnily enough I didn't actually have to sufer a party member using a full cure on it. (Can't remember, Dia-something)
I loved Koromaru...
Yeah, I wasn't sure about Garrus being Magician, one of the reasons being that whole first social link thing. Also, the kind of self-confidence, since Garrus does seem to take a big hit on himself in ME2. I am quite sure Fool fits him to a T for ME1, though.
And, Garrus.
I'm pretty sure P4 doesn't have the Charm status effect at all--and thank God for that. It's also a little easier to fuse no-weakness/elementally resistant Personas.
But if we're going by Persona structure, Garrus can't be the Fool either; the Fool is always the main character and their team. So the Fool would be Shepard and her squad. Still backing Emperor for him, though I guess whether you Paragon/Renegade'd him would be significant in determining his Arcana...I'm kind of tempted to make a topic about this, but I think there are like two other people who've played Persona on the whole forums.
Actually, I think Garrus highlights a big problem in the ME alignment system--it's only got one axis. In the OP, one of (his own?) writers describes him as 'the compassionate Renegade', but a lot of people perceive him as somewhat Paragon. Probably at least a little due to their own projections, but it's notable that there's really only one way to play Paragon (Captain America)--and that one of its defining traits is compassion--but several, sometimes contradictory, ways to play Renegade (some Ren options are xenophobic, some are raging psycho, some are amoral bastard, and some are just pragmatic). The fact that both sides tend to encompass a wide range of contradictory traits is problematic.

Totally agree with this. Thought I might be being pedantic (and maybe I am) but it always seemed to me they were both just leaning in and it was the camera angle. There were no shadows where the heads were 'touching' and lighting is wrong for being directly infront of each other. But that is just the designer in me coming out I guess.
Oh, and Garrus is awesome!

Darn. My heart, she is disappoint.
In an effort to add to Garrus discussion that isn't romantically related so we can get some good ole' platonic discussion going: Archangel.
Why this nickname in particular? It's not like there are strictly positive connotations or ideas associated with the word. There are Archangels who don't symbolize good things, per se. Azrael is the name of the Archangel of Death. Was the name selected because Garrus was an Archangel of Death, so to speak, on the mercenary gangs of Omega? Oddly appropriate that he would be given this name on Omega "the end."
But did he get this name before or after he gathered his group together? One definition of Archangel is: "a powerful angel that leads many other angels, etc." Was he given the name because he led his anti-merc gang?
I also have this other...thought thing. But I'm not sure if it'd be appropriate to, er, mention it. Since it could be...uhm, controversial?
AHEM.
YES.
ANYWAY.
MOVING ON.

WELL, I wanted to keep this a secret until I felt I was ready to reveal it, but I think it's time. Mameshiba. It's frightening how easily I can see Mordin in this position. Except he wouldn’t make baby sounds.
He’d say “Enjoy.”
Mordinshiba, horrifying the masses with too much information. Was going to try and draw a comic with Mordinshiba, Garrus and Thane at one point (separate ones), but I'd loooooove to see what ya'll other artists can do.
Your Garrus and Kasumi-mission Fem!Shep picture is shaping up very nicely, by the way. I’d give you advice if I was at all artistically skilled, but I’m not. *weep*

I've always felt Garrus was definitely one of the better characters in the franchise. I was a little disappointed in ME2 that you didn't get as much interaction with him as a male character, given that he stood out pretty strongly in ME1, but I was more than happy to see him again. To me, he always seemed like a good wingman for a male Shepard - more than willing to offer an alternative viewpoint while still supporting his friend in the end. The kind of guy you'd want at your side in a crisis.
To a lesser extent, Jacob and even Thane fill this role a bit in ME2, but it still felt as if Garrus, in the end, was more reliable, in part just because you'd known him for a longer period of time.
Yeah. Jacob and Thane can make good wingmen (and they do, Thane is a part of my sniper team and Jacob and I have this amazing brohug), but Garrus is…well, different? He’s the kind of guy that you’d be able to do anything with. Jump off a cliff together, go on a Suicide Mission, go to jail together, etc, and I’d expect him to go: “Well, that was fun. What’s next?”

JAROTH: ...
GARM: It was a big rock!
I don't think Jaroth actually had an encounter with Garrus, he was only really after him because he killed his brother. I mean, he was unhappy about the whole 'attacking my shipments' thing too, but it was killing his brother that really motivated him.
I will make this moment happen. Someday, I swear it.
Yeah, that’s the problem. Jaroth doesn’t seem to have an “Almost Got ‘Im” story that I can pull from the game. I was hoping I could spark some possible suggestions for what his story could be.
And because someone brought it up, Vakarian senior with Kevin Conroy’s voice? Hehe, brb, snorting soda in a nerdspasm attack forever.
EDIT: The internet broke my post.

I really respect Vanguard players. But I'm also beginning to suspect that I really should stick with Infiltrator. I just like sneaking up and stealing Garrus' headshots.
