I remember reading on the old forums that the Xbox doesn't make a save after the councillor decision like the PC does. A dev came on and said they had implemented something to 'take care of it' - so that would be why you can change your mind.

This brings up an interesting thought... How do you think the turian government is going to feel about a human-supremacy group like Cerberus stealing their top-secret plans and replicating them? I imagine there's going to be some animosity about the SR-2. What if the turians try to confiscate it?Jytra wrote...
The original Normandy SR-1 was co-designed by both Turian and Alliance engineers, and reflects upon both in aesthetics and layout philosophy. The SR-2 was of a similar design, vastly improved upon, albeit in more human ways. While the crew is capable of patch jobs and systems upgrades, large scale repairs still need to be handled at a drydock. For the reasons in the above bullet point, taking the SR-2 back to a Cerberus base for repairs is no longer feasible, which leaves bringing the craft to an Alliance base, a Turian one, or taking the risk of docking at a non-military port.
I think it could just be the fact that you don't have a lot of conversations with him, and most relate to his work. In fact, I think there was only one line about his father, and that was in relation to his work and the subject of Spectres. He probably didn't mention his mother because it was his father that stopped him from being recruited. I mean, Tali was all about family and all we really found out about her mother was that she had one... I don't think it necessarily means that his parents split up, just that he didn't have enough lines to go into detail.Since there is literally no information about Garrus’ family except for a few spoken lines in ME1, most of what I’ve been trying to do is centered around explaining Garrus’ choice of words; specifically, the fact that he only refers to his father, his father’s attitude towards Spectres, and almost nothing about “my family” or “my mother”. While it might be a stretch of reasoning, whenever I’ve heard someone talk in this manner (by referring only to one parent, rather than “parents”), it generally means that the family unit is divided in some way, or that the animosity is so great between child and parent that the relationship is heavily strained.
It could be that his father joined C-Sec and moved them to the Citadel when Garrus was around 11-14-ish, then the growing up on Palaven thing would still make sense. But it makes me wonder... Is Papa Vakarian even on Palaven? Was it actually said in-game that he went back after he retired, or have we all just been making that assumption? However, the two elements that are proving to be a challenge to work around are:
- Garrus mentioning that he grew up on Palaven.
- Garrus’ father being a long-time C-Sec officer
I'm partial to Colonist, but a Spacer might identify better with turian philosophy. :3Also, and this is a minor detail, which origin should Shepard have in this story? The character so far is going to be primarily Paragon in actions and behavior, but I’m torn between giving her a Colonist or Spacer background. I could really go either way, and it affects a few conversations.

Just so we can have FemShep commiserate with Garrus in regards to family issues, I'd go with a Spacer background.

- Events of ME1 and ME2.
The only issue I see (and holy diver what a gorgeous story outline, I look forward to seeing the drafts!) is that during ME1 Garrus comments at least once and possibly twice that he is in fact talking with his father - and that it will 'probably kill my father' for Garrus to go back into Spectre training. So did I miss something due to the late hour that this is slightly alternaverse fic?

I'm kind of glad he neglected to do his research. I'd be worried about his research taking him to some very, very weird places (hey, it's the internet), and his inexperience making him believe they're the norm...
Shepard: ::steps into the battery:: Garrus, where have you been? I thought we decided to spend the evening together. You know, one last moment, just for us?
Garrus: ::huddled over his station, looking very disturbed:: Uh, yeah, about that, I'm not really... into it anymore. ::shudders and goes back to calibrating:: ...I never should've watched the vids...

rofl! If it helps, I just knew of it because of a Robot Chicken skit (Randy the Oblivious Pizza Delivery Guy). But I've heard of it on other shows and things, it's kind of the go-to cheesy porn scenario, I think. That or a guy coming to an office to fix the copier... Or is that just a stereotype in the world of Friends?Tootles FTW wrote...

@Remaix: Basically a guy goes to deliver pizza and a woman comes to the door and tells the pizza guy she doesn't have any money so she offers to find another way to make it up to him, and that's the start of the porno.
*Edited for clarification. xD

Yea, I agree. I wish more squadmates have passive abilities so that I don't have to lug her around most of the time (though I personally don't have that big an issue with Miranda). Jack's Squad Warp Ammo is also nice, but you have to level it up all the way to unlock it...and have her in the party.snu55lepuff wrote...

@ Jytra - I can't wait to read whatever you come up with...I like the idea of Garrus & his father being on a break of sorts, and not exactly on speaking terms. I'm curious on whether or not Garrus's mother will be featured, but since I assume it has something to do with the "incident" you mentioned I don't think I'll ask. ^.^
Just so we can have FemShep commiserate with Garrus in regards to family issues, I'd go with a Spacer background.
If Garrus's mother decided to show up, they'd finally need to design a female turian model. I wonder how you make a waist look "supportive."

I mean, if it works so perfect for Shepard, there must be a way to reconstruct Garrus' Face as well, no? Because Garrus looks pretty ridicolous with all that blood and that ear patch. :/

With my Soldier-class Shep, I had Jacob as my third wingman. Jacob and Garrus were pretty much my A-Team/powerhouse crew. Shep provided the raw strength, Jacob had the biotics and Garrus was the sniper/clean-up crew.
It was glorious.
